Vernazza is known as one of the prettiest villages in Italy, with its brightly painted houses and small fishing harbour. Charming Flat is in the heart of the town. On the 4th floor of a traditional house, with a balcony overlooking the lively street, the apartment can sleep 5 people. It is an ideal holiday choice for friends and family who want to explore the famous Cinque Terre.

The apartment has an airy living room with two sets of French windows opening onto the balcony. Inside there is a sofa and cane armchairs. The separate, neat kitchen is well-equipped with a cooker hob, oven, Moka coffee maker and a fridge. Around the corner on the landing, guests will find the dining area with a table for 5 people.

The balcony is furnished with deck chairs where guests can relax and enjoy the views across the town.

Location
Vernazza is well situated for visitors to explore all the towns of Cinque Terre. For something more relaxing, the town’s sandy beach is only a 1-minute walk from the apartment. Most of the town’s bars and restaurants are concentrated around the seafront and are within 5 minutes’ walk.

Away from the beach, visitors will find some spectacular hiking along the Sentiero Azzuro, which connects all 5 towns of Cinque Terre. There is also a regular ferry service along the coast and a train service that links the towns. Vernazza railway station is only a 3-minute walk from the apartment.

For self-catering try the weekly farmers market (Tuesday morning). Here you can find the best local produce. For daily needs there is a supermarket in the town (1 minute) and smaller speciality shops for fish, wine and charcuterie.

Pisa’s International Airport is 1 hour and 35 minutes and Genova’s International Airport is a 1 hour, 45-minute drive from the apartment.

Spacious common area, clean, nice balcony view of town, close to train station and grocery store. The kitchen had plenty of plates/silverware but could have used more pots/pans, but it did the job. Laundry on site was nice but it is a very small machine and you need to provide your own detergent. WiFi didn’t work and when I reached out to the host I was told he would check with his team but he never got back to me about it. The space matched the pictures online and worked well for our group of five. Lots of steep steps up to top floor (like most places in town) and you can hear the train (noise machine helps with this in the evening).

Although the bedding, towels, and bathroom seemed to be freshly cleaned, the rest of the flat was questionable. Many of the dishes and silverware in the cabinets had food remnants, which resulted in our decision to not use the kitchen at all; this was one of the primary reasons we booked this location. We attempted to contact the hosts multiple times about things that did not work (one being the fan, which is very necessary in a unit that does not have ac) or that were dirty and were given different people to contact. The response was to send pictures and video and that it would be sent "to the company". The wifi was not stable enough to send pictures or video, so this was a lengthy process. When I would follow up the response was "we have sent it to the company", but no one actually came to do anything. I first reached out on Friday, and when we departed on Tuesday we still did not have anything that was problematic addressed. The location is great and the bathroom has been updated and has plenty of hot water. The company Happy Rentals does not adequately clean or prepare the property and is essentially non-responsive to any problems.

The apartment as very clean, with a spacious living room and very comfortable beds. And it was very conveniently located. The balcony overlooking Vernazza's Main Street was great, too. It's very close to the train station, which was both good and bad. But we weren't really bothered by the train noise. The only thing we had trouble with was the four flights of steep stairs leading to the apartment. They're narrow, there's no railing on the third flight and the lights didn't stay on long. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay, and the flights of stairs are no one's fault! It's an old building.
