Relaxing in Zihuatanejo

We really enjoyed our stay, loved the views and breeze in our suite and appreciated the pool! It was great to be close to the beach and restaurants. Thanks to Nancy and her team for taking care of us!

Exactly what we wanted

Great location to the beach. Felt safe. Beautiful sleeping quarters. Wonderful host. No complaints. Would go back again in a heart beat.

Unique stay!

We loved our 3 night unique stay in this open air penthouse. Pictures do not capture how beautiful this place actually is. It has 360 views with the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other. Was nice seeing the sunrise and sunset from our place. Easy flat few minute walk to the beach which was nice. It has a small kitchenette to cook simple meals in which was convenient. All staff and the 2 property dogs all very friendly. Main pool area was very relaxing and well kept. Being open air we rarely saw any insects and only had the occasional bird fly through. Would definitely come back!

Unique Open-air Palapa

We loved our 2 weeks stay in this unusual, comfortable open-air thatched roof, large well-designed studio, surrounded by bougainvillea plants. Included was a well-placed hammock, king size comfortable bed and a small kitchette that could have been better supplied with crockery and utensils. Housekeeping staff were exceptional, two friendly dogs paid quiet visits, and their lovely pool, centred in the property was cool, refreshing and carefully maintained in their well-cared for garden. Beautiful Relaxing Experience

This was the highlight of our vacation in Zihua. The open air penthouse gave incredible views in every direction. It is very well planned and we loved every minute of our stay. The bed was comfy, furnishings are well suited to the design and were functional as well, and the shower worked great. The pool/terrace area is also beautiful with many trees and blooming vegetation. We were just a short (less than 5 min) walk to the beach. Very clean throughout, great communications with the host, and the other guests as well. We would love to return to El Bamboo penthouse

Wonderfully Unique

We had a great experience here. Property is clean, safe and unique. The open air penthouse is truly a unique experience with views of the bay and often a nice breeze. We look forward to visiting again

Fantastic and Unique Experience

Loved this unit and the property. I've never stayed in a room quite like this open air penthouse. It's quaint and located a short walk to the beach and restaurants. A quick 70 peso ride gets you into town. Nancy was also an amazing host! Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful!!

This property was beautiful and unique (we stayed in the open-air) El Bamboo Suite. Nancy Lewis, the owner/manager, was a wonderful host who provided lots of recommendations for the area because it was our first time in Zihua. We will definitely return!

Fantastic! What a perfect place to spend in paradise!

We stayed in the open-air penthouse and it was stunning. The 360 degree view could not be beat, with the mountains on one side and the ocean on another! The ocean breezes made you feel like you were camping right on the beach. Laying in the hammock while reading a book was the best way to end each afternoon. Our room was very tidy, and was touched up each day. The refrigerator kept our beers cold, and the 5 gallon purified water jug was a great amenity. The pool on the property was immaculate with cool temp waters, surrounded by beautiful gardens, a palapa for shade and comfortable lounge chairs. The location is just a short walk to the beach, where the ocean temps were warm and the waves just enough to enjoy the sound and float for long periods in the beautiful clear turquoise blue water. The town of Zihuatanejo is just a short trip down the rode and offers another type adventure of foods, shopping and an opportunity to take in this sweet town. Best of all, was the property proprietor and consummate host - Nancy! From the start, she made us feel welcome and had many suggestions of where to go for local cultural events, great food and the best happy hour on the beach to take in the amazing sunsets! Her kindness was overwhelming, insuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our time there. Her love for this little corner of the world is crystal clear. And her wisest advice to us was to come and stay longer next time!

Hidden Gem

Villas Los Arcos was a beautiful property conveniently located just far enough from the beach to be quiet. Well maintained property with an friendly and informative host. The rooms are spacious and well designed. Our mattress was very comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. The pool is a quiet oasis. I would highly recommend this property for couples or families.

Penthouse Paradise!

Absolutely loved our stay at the Bamboo Penthouse! It was a unique experience in the open air style room, but with perfect weather and a gorgeous view of the bay only one block away it was a lovely stay. The room was very comfortable, and the pool made for a peaceful place to relax between stints in the ocean. Nancy and her team were very accommodating and gracious hosts. We hope to be back soon!

Incredibly special place with great location.

My husband and I stayed here for a week over Christmas. I would go back and stay again tomorrow if I could. The location is perfect, easy to get a cab or collectivo, quick access to the beach and plenty of restaurants nearby. Nancy was welcoming and lovely and all of her advice was appreciated, we ate at several restaurants and ordered suggested meals from her recommendations and they were spot on! She even invited us to join her and another couple for Christmas dinner. Our suite was immaculate every day. It was my first trip to Zihuatanejo and I left thinking about how to make another trip back to Villas Los Arcos soon. Enjoy!

"Another Day In Paradise" what my boyfriend and I said to each other every morning.

If I had prescribed for myself the perfect relaxing vacation, with the perfect host, the perfect location, and the perfect setting, with the perfectly clean accommodations, I could not have found anything better then The Bamboo Palapa at Nancy's Villas Los Arcos....I must admit, I was a bit nervous about renting in the low season...humidity and mosquitos...but....sitting up high with a gorgeous ocean view ,sea breezes and fans blowing lightly all night long, we were lulled to sleep..... awakened by our tree top neighbors every morning...The biggest decision of the day was to decide where to go for sunset happy hour and dinner....The rest of the day was already decided..breakfast, beach, hammock...book...Did I mention the crystal clear large pool (we had to ourselves)...massages on the beach? ....Like I read in reviews before I booked...the only downside...was having to leave...We will be back to your slice of heaven Nancy... Paradise!

Villa Los Arcos is an amazing place and Nancy Lewis is a fantastic host. My husband and I stayed in El Bamboo for 6 nights. Our routine consisted of beach, pool, eat, pool, rest, eat, beach, pool, eat. El Bamboo is just perfect if you are looking for an open air experience. The apartments are also very well appointed and the cleanliness is 5-star. Each time we came back to Villas Los Arcos we felt we were returning to our personal oasis of beauty. The restaurants in Zihau and Play La Ropa are easily accessed and prices are excellent. Taxis and buses are right outside the door and Nancy has plenty of suggestions for dining or activities.

A Funky Treat!

Staying in the open air penthouse at Villas Los Arcos was a unique experience. Don’t worry about not having air conditioning. It is high enough that there is always a breeze and the temperature is perfect night and day. We enjoyed preparing our own meals and taking advantage of view and the sunsets while we ate. Nancy and all of the staff are friendly and helpful. Our only minor complaint was that the internet in the penthouse was a little bit inconsistent so a couple of times we had to suffer the terrible hardship of using a device by the pool closer to a modem. The beach is a four or five minute stroll away and close enough that you can always hear the surf mixed in with bird sounds. Of course you would be able to find a less expensive accommodation if you wanted and the cost was a little bit more than my wife and I usually spend but we felt it was well worth it for such a funky high end penthouse treat.

Lovely

We stayed in the Bamboo Penthouse and loved it. I feel that the lack of air conditioning ( lots of fresh ocean breezes and fans instead) meant a better adaptation to the heat. The kitchenette was great for coffee and breakfast daily and we could have made simple meals, but there are so many good restaurants, we didn't feel the need to cook. The pool was delightful, the hammock in our room very comfortable. Nancy was a super hostess and gave us all the information we needed for a great week in Zihuatanejo. Look forward to going there again.

Impressive, relaxful, beautiful, super accommodations

Nancy's place is wonderful. Just a short walk to the beach and features beautiful super clean rooms with a local feel. Just the right size so you think the place is all your own. Quiet, relaxing and very safe. Hope to stay there again soon.

Oh yeah, we'll be back!!

We had never been to lovely Zihuatanejo before but knew what we wanted in an accommodation; close to if not on the beach, a pool, easy transportation and a helpful host. Villas Los Arcos did more than fit the bill and we would have to say, as others have, that this was the best place we have ever stayed at in Mexico. We stayed in the open palapa; if you need walls, hate a lovely soft breeze, don't like watching the sunrise or sunset, don't care for a comfortable bed and can't be bothered with a wonderful host, don't stay here!! Couldn't have asked for a better experience or a more marvellous two weeks. Thanks for all your info, Nancy - much appreciated and all your recommendations were great.

So relaxing, our new home in Mexico

We enjoyed 14 days in Villas Los Arcos, the apartment with full kitchen and it was wonderful. Pros: the bed was very comfortable, the apartment stays cool enough you don't have to have the a.c. on all the time, it's roomy, close to the beach and food (Rossy's great for breakfast and drinks), Nancy is accommodating and informative, the apartment is very clean, pool is large for the size of the facility, we always had a chair. Cons: keep in mind this is an apartment and not a condo. There are the basics for meal cooking (pots, pans, dishes) but you will need to buy condiments, spices if you plan to cook. Remember the Mexican plumbing doesn't allow TP, the hot water is 'm demand' so it takes a while to get enough for a shower. This property is a healthy walk to town, 40 minutes at a strong pace. Busses don't run later in the evening, so cabs are your transportation. I would recommend this property for couples, even seniors and I would return in a heart beat
