The Italian Riviera, Liguria, Italy. Colletta is a 13th-century castle that was purchased by a consortium in the late 1990s and renovated under the direction of the renowned architect Giancarlo de Carlo. The castle was equipped with fiber-optic technology at that time, making it Italy’s first “Borgo Telematico.” The castle is part of the network “I Borghi più belli d’Italia” (The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy).

All architecture students in Italy make a pilgrimage here. The beautiful castle is located about 15 km from the Mediterranean Sea in a stunning mountain setting. It shines like a jewel on a mountaintop amidst stunning natural surroundings, while also being close to one of the Riviera’s most attractive towns, Alassio, for swimming in the Mediterranean, shopping, and nightlife.

There are about seventy private apartments in the castle, and half of the owners are foreign, while the other half are Italian. We have apartment owners from Australia, California, Florida, the Netherlands, the UK, and Norway, to name a few nationalities, so there’s an international flair to the castle, which is very pleasant.

To get to Colletta, you can either drive (about 220 mil from Växjö) or fly to Nice (12 mil to Colletta), Turin (18 mil), or Milan (20 or 23 mil if you fly with Ryanair to Milan-Bergamo) and then continue by rental car.
