Remote paradise

A fabulous property with the choice of a fantastic deserted beach. We had our family of 5 along with one other 2other families staying in the other houses and 5 miles of fantastic beach to ourselves for a week. Participating in the release of baby sea turtles into the wild on multiple nights around sunset was the highlight of the trip. Thank you Molly and Jose!

We had the best time at Casa de Colores!! It was exactly what we needed. Breakfast prepared and served on the patio, by the lovely José and Alma, morning swim, afternoon at the beach, evening baby turtle release, then back to the house for our delicious supper thanks to Chef Alma! The house was perfect, the hosts José and Molly answered all of our questions before and during the trip, and we’d highly recommend booking the personal chef option. It’s worth it for ease of mind, not having to worry about groceries/clean up, and allows for extra time with your family. After all, you are on vacation!! Enjoy! We can’t wait to go back!

Playa de Tortugas, and they mean it. Daily releases of hundreds of them.

Spacious and comfortable. The daily turtle launches (releases) are a real treat!! Not sure about payment. Daniel at the gatehouse office took 200 Pesos per stay, or was it per day? Not sure. Alma's cooking was great. Try the Lime Pie! We ordered two to take home with us. Very nice family, Alma, Jenny and Jose. They were there every day, all day, so the place is really cared for. I have never seen a cleaner pool. Quite an expedition for groceries so bring your own. You might be able to get some fresh fish from the fishermen in the little village, Platanitos - half hour by car, ten minutes if you swim the channel which empties and refills the salt marsh, I guess that is what it is. Pleasant hanging in the current too for the 25 feet which you have to swim. (There are multiple stairs. Take the longest one that goes to the tallest building on the channel shore. The other stairs are private and do not lead to the road). Hope to return one day. Thank you Molly and Glen!

Great Place

Beautiful house, near the ocean, bit of a drive from PVR but totally worth it. The caretakers, Alma & Jose, are awesome.

Tranquil beach getaway

Beautiful house by a beautiful beach, away from the hustle and bustle of Vallarta. We loved the sea turtle releases every evening at the turtle sanctuary right next door. We may have seen half a dozen others on the ten-mile beach in the three days we were there. Go, and relax!!

A rare treat!

We had a wonderful vacation staying at Casa de Colores! The property owners were so helpful and communicative prior to and during our stay, leaving us with no concerns about traveling with young kids to a more secluded corner of the world. The house was comfortable, immaculate, and we loved the outdoor spaces for lounging and eating! The pool was great! So refreshing and lovely steps/seats for lounging in the pool. Alma and Jose, the caretakers, were kind and attentive. Alma’s cooking was delicious and we are so glad we decided to opt for this inexpensive option for 4 of our 7 days stay. The beach was secluded, with soft sand and gorgeous sunsets. Our group was able to release turtle hatchlings! Hard to say who was more delighted by this- the kids or adults who know what a rarity this is!! We are already looking at our calendar to see when we can come back. Thank you!!

Very relaxing

Paradise!!

If you're looking for a beautiful, tropical vacation this is the place to go! From the beautiful white sandy beaches, to the amazing private pool, and the most mouth watering food, it truly doesn't get any better! The house and surrounding grounds are absolutely gorgeous. It's very clean and well maintained. Alma cooks the best authentic meals that everyone loves! The owners do a great job accommodating all your needs. This place has it all! We can't wait to go back again!!

such a wonderful amazing home!!

If your looking for paradise this home is it!! Everything was so easy! from booking with them and communicating and setting everything up. As you drive up to the home all you see is amazing beautiful grounds just paradise. The home is set to make you feel at home with comfort and all the features you are looking for. Every detail has been set thinking of how they can make us feel more comfortable. It was the best trip we have taken, having your own private pool and just steps from the most amazing beach you have ever set your eyes on. One of The best parts was Alma that takes care of the place with her husband Jose, the nicest people. Alma made the most amazing homemade foods for breakfast and dinner. If you want to get away to paradise this is the place its just amazing and you will never see a nicer beach highly recommend cant wait to go back

This is truly PARADISE!!

Wow! Such a beautiful home...the pictures don't even do it justice! Loved their spacious home and the back patio was such a great place to hang out. The pool is just gorgeous and refreshing...the grounds are amazing and it is just a short 350 step walk to the ocean. Did I mention how beautiful the beach is?? The water was so warm and it is very secluded. The owners make you feel so welcome and provide everything you need. But honestly THE BEST part is having Alma's homemade meals prepared for you every day!! So delicious AND nothing to clean up! That's a vacation!! Can't wait to go back next month. Absolutely LOVE Casa De Colores!!

Playas las Tortugas

Back in October my wife and I rented the Casa de Colores in playas las Tortugas For a long birthday weekend We flew out of Tijuana for the first time which ended up being the perfect way to go so easy arriving in tepic the scenery was phenomenal reminded me of flying in to Hawaii getting the rental car was so easy We stopped at a store got our snacks and booze and headed to the house we were warned that the road to the house was a bit long but to me that was all part of the journey it was not bad at all We had heard about the house but talking about it did not do justice it was so amazing My wife and I love to go to all inclusive resorts in Mexico but this place we feel top that there is a husband and wife Alma and Jose that take care of the place Alma cooked you breakfast and dinner and the food was more than amazing and Jose did the landscaping when my wife and I first heard that there would be two people at the house we thought it might be kind of weird but after staying there when we go back in March we couldn’t imagine if they were not there to cook for us again The property is amazing the pool was perfect the short walk to the beach it was a perfect vacation can’t wait to go back

Very nice home well kept and great help

We spent Christmas week 2017 at Casa de Colores on Playa de las tortugas. The home is very nice, spacious and relaxing. Molly was great to work with and very responsive leading up to and through our stay. We also really enjoyed having Alma and Jose there to help keep the home and grounds clean during our stay. We paid extra to have Alma cook for us Tuesday - Friday and the whole family loved it. Alma is an excellent cook who puts a lot of effort into each meal and we can not say enough about how much we enjoyed having her cooking for us. We were a little taken a back by the bug spraying that started the night we arrived but frankly the house was bug free and we found out that it was very important to spray for bugs. We spend a couple of evenings on the beach and despite using bug spray we were nearly eaten alive by biting gnats that were very small put packed a punch. Almost a week later I still have hundreds of itching, swollen bites all over my arms and legs which no after bite medication seems to be able to heal. They are slowing healing but it is taking some time. Two of my kids were also bitten (not as many bites as me) but they have the same issues with bites lasting a while. That said, we are not sick, just itching and it should just be a few more days. I suggest 100% deet if you plan on spending time on the beach in the evening. Frankly, Molly should put this on her list of things for people to plan for as you are in a very remote location and if you show up without bug spray it is some effort to get it out there. The grounds of the HOA are nicely kept and the pool is clean and refreshing and a great place to swim after washing off the sand and the salt from the beach before you head back to the house. The beach is great and the sand is amazing, my boys love to skim board and this is among the best beaches for skim boarding. The sand is soft and smooth and flat, lots of fun. The waves are strong but not great for body boarding. The waves will slam you against the sand as they break close to the shore and are decent sized 3-6 feet is my guess but with a kick so use a boogie board or surf board if you surf. My wife loves bath tubs so she was disappointed that all three rooms only had showers. All in all a very nice change of pace fand we are glad we chose to break up our three week vacation with a week at Casa de Colores. Thanks Molly!

REST AND RELAXATION PLUS ULTRA

This was an unforgettable experience. From the ride from the airport to the house, you have the opportunity to discover real Mexico. You pass through beautiful plantations, coconut groves, small villages where you can experience the friendly people in their daily activities. Stop at a fruit stand and buy an infinite number of fresh, tropical fruits. Don’t be surprised to see a family of 5 riding around on a motorcycle. Finally you arrive to the CASA DE COLORES. Quickly you will identify the interior to its name. A myriad of brilliant Mexican colors will welcome you in every room. The house is spacious with a terrace on the ground floor and another on the second level. Alma, the cook and Jose, her husband will be there to greet you with the only purpose of making your stay immemorable. Alma’s cooking is out of the world with a variety of succulent Mexican dishes. Walking in the coconut grove you will find a very nice swimming pool. There is also a separate lap pool for exercise. Now for the crowning glory lies the pristine beach which permits you to advance 50 yards and you are still standing. Body surfing is amazing with long rides. On our first morning we took a stroll down the beach. A light, warm rain was falling and we saw the most incredible rainbow from the top of the mountain to the sea. In my life I have never seen a rainbow so wide and so defined in color. The sea was full of birds diving and long legged birds in the calm surf. In the other direction, you run into an estuary and depending on the tide, you can walk or swim for a short distance. There is a trail that leads up The Hill and on the other side you will find a small fishing village with souvenir shops and restaurants that specialize in seafood, super delicious, especially with an ice cold Corona or maybe a margarita if you prefer. If you want to get away from the crowded tourist spots, CASA DE COLORES is for you. I am strongly recommending it to friends and family. It will be a delightful experience for you and your loved ones.
