Peaceful stay on the ocean

Space had plenty of room for a family of 6. Kids appreciated the separate twin beds. So much great space outside and beach was amazing.

Great place close to beach!

May was a great time to travel!! Very quiet. The beach and ocean were close and not obstructed by buildings. Lots of light and the fireplace was cozy.

Would stay again!

We loved our stay. Great back patio with room to play yard games. Quick walk to the beach. Much more spacious than the pictures look. We really enjoyed this unit and would book it again!

Weekend away

Great location and beautiful windows! It rained the whole time we were there but it did not stop us from enjoying ourselves. Will definitely be back.

Super Quiet End Unit

Super quiet, safe and easy access to the beach. It was fantastic being able to drive our car on the beach. Easy shopping nearby. We will be back.

Great location and a nice place.

Everything was great. Really nice place with an ocean view. It was clean and everything worked. The only potential improvement would be adding a washer & dryer to the place.

Excellent beach vacation

This condo is a very nice beach condo in a nice little town close to all sorts of fun things to do. We went razor clamming on the beach right over the dune, drive up to Astoria to see the cargo ships coming in, and had delicious seafood in Seaside during our 2 night trip. The condo is clean, well maintained, and has all the amenities you might need. The full kitchen was very nice as well. The pool was fun for the kids to play in. You can also see a bit of the ocean from the kitchen table. There is also a little playground just up from the parking lot but it is in bad shape and needs to be replaced. We had a great time and would certainly return if we get the chance!

Gearhart by the sea

We had a very pleasant stay. The condo itself had everything we needed for a good rest and for food preparation. Although we made a lot of use of the nearby restaurant. It was a nice neighborhood to walk in. The grassy area outside the condo was nice for the youngster to play in. The grassy dunes and then the beach provided just what I needed for a slice of northern OR oceanside. There were some really nice kites being flown and on the last morning a few of the local elk herd came to check on us. Great sunsets too. You should try it.

Great location on the beach

The location was great for traveling up and down the coast for Washington and Oregon locations, and more affordable than the nearby tourist attraction towns. The condo was spacious with plenty of room for a family of 4. We enjoyed walking out to the beach without having to pack up the car to get there. As others mentioned, do watch out for the pokey little weeds while walking to the beach. They can stick you even with sandals on. Not painful, but more of a nuisance. There were a few things missed by the cleaning person when we arrived, such as the dishes weren’t put away and some dirty towels were left on the bathroom floor, but overall it was clean. We did wish for a few essential kitchen items that were missing such as kitchen scissors, a pizza pan, and new scrubbing sponges to clean items in the sink. Those were minor things though and didn’t interfere with our overall enjoyment. My family enjoyed the heated indoor pool, which is a nice addition since the weather was on the chilly side during our stay. We would look to book here again if we return to the area in the future!

Fabulous location and access to the beach!

This is the best location to any of the properties associated with Gearhart by the Sea. We had an amazing time! We will certainly look to rent this unit in the future. We were unable to make contact with the host via the app, but contacted Gearhart directly and got a great response to our questions. Small things for others to consider...there was no cooking oil, salt and pepper (there but empty), or coffee grinder. Plan accordingly if you are cooking on site. Also, the fireplace did not burn well. We stayed to the durologs requested but they would peter out. I am guessing the fireplace would work fine with a full flame, but I understand not opening that can of worms to renters. Overall, super amazing stay and location in our families happy place called Gearhart!

Great location, decent house

We enjoyed our stay here. The location is awesome, with partial ocean views from the dining and living area. You can walk right out the door and be on the sand in a minute. When we arrived, there was a herd of 20+ elk strolling across the grass - magnificent! We also saw a wild pheasant in the grassy dunes. The condo is mostly comfortable with a few drawbacks: 1) The mattress in the master bedroom is soft. I was okay with it but my husband couldn't sleep on it - he spent the whole trip sleeping in the kids' room. 2) The knives in the kitchen were so dull we had trouble making meals. Making a salad was hilarious and frustrating. 3) This is just FYI for the owners: the coffeepot does not have an auto shut-off. We discovered this at 9 pm after being gone all day with the coffee pot on, and black burnt stuff stuck in the bottom of the pot. I'm so glad we didn't burn down the house. 4) There is a washer and dryer in the condo but guests can't use it - it's locked! I had assumed there would be laundry facilities, but that was my mistake. It seems strange not to be able to use them, especially if you're planning to stay a week. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but next time we stay in Gearhart we will probably try a different condo. The soft mattress and lack of washer/dryer was the deal breaker.

Coastal Wonder

Love the easy access to beach ! You can't see the ocean from the condo, because of a berm. As short walk, and you have the magic of the Oregon Coastline. Great house a group of friends! Having a full size kitchen and 2 baths was terrific. Easy check in, any questions or concerns handled immediately.

Great Place!

My family was in town for a wedding up at the Gearhart Golf Links. This was a quick and easy walk for us, so made for a great location. The quick access to the beach was fantastic. My only suggestion would be to add to the listing about directions for check in (or add that information after booking). Without reaching out to the property manager through VRBO, there was no way of knowing how the check in process worked. If that is added to the listing it would be very beneficial to future renters.

A wonderful stay

This unit was so comfortable and very clean. The location was a short walk over the dune to a wonderful beach and we spent many hours looking for sand dollars and walking in the surf. The kitchen was well appointed and we definitely would return. My son loved playing golf at the course at the resort. It was truly wonderful.

Comfortable condo just off the beach

My family of 4 (2 children under 5) plus my sister stayed here. Big enough for us all to be comfortable. End unit and no one above or below so didn't worry about my kids making too much noise running up and down the hallway. Plus it was an easy walk to the beach! Beach toys provided, and books and games. Only downside was the indoor heated pool was not warm. Not freezing, so we were able to enjoy it for half an hour, but expected it to be warmer.

Terrific location

The location exceeded expectations. We had a toddler and a baby with us so being the end unit was nice and quiet. The play toy area was just a short walk up the stairs to the grass area. Very convenient for little ones to run around. The trail to the beach was easy to get to. Again, with two little ones it was nice that it was just a short walk to the beach. The pool was very warm and clean. Definitely would love to stay here again.

Relaxing & enjoyable

Nice location & beach house. Loved the additional wildlife. We had bluebirds out the window each day, Elk at dusk grazing in the backyard & even a pheasant ran past the window.
