Verdensklasse solopgange og solnedgange over 2 søer, og en utrolig ren sandstrand for nylig stemt til Best Beach i Michigan ... og det siger meget.

Amazing stay. Such a good layout for families that might go to bed at different times but still want a big social area to hang out in. Every type of chill zone was in play. So many different doors and stairways and places to hang out, while still being small enough to feel intimate with your family.My daughter loved the secret room in the bell tower. Great location, unique and interesting property. Only issue is the thermostats were locked down so it got a little warm for our tastes.

Hi Bennett, I actually checkedd the thermostats and the controls for the A/C was not locked. There are seperate heating and cooling controls for this property. The heating thermostats were locked for the summer since I do not want anyone turning that on. As you know I am only steps away for anything that might be a concern and would have been more than happy to stop over to adjust the A/C for you. I am truly sorry if this affected your stay but I am always available for issues like this and have often been asked to adjust temperatures for people...some like it warmer or cooler than others so it's never a "one temperature fits all" situations, and especially during the shoulder season the temperatures can vary widely from one day to the next.

We had a great stay with plenty of room for our family. It was located within walking distance to a beautiful beach, with kid friendly amusement parks and farms close by. The home/church had updated kitchens and bathrooms, but also had architectural charm. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay in the Bluffton Church. Well appointed and perfect for a larger group! The location is only a few minute walk from a gorgeous beach on Lake Michigan!!!

Perfect Family Vacation

We loved our stay at Bluffton Church Cottage! The dual living spaces are great with a full house. Bedrooms are spacious. We enjoyed some great homecooked meals together and the kitchens have everything you need! Roberto is a gracious host and no detail has been missed.

Property was great! There were 9 of us including kids and the space was perfect! Robert was great giving us local information! The walk to the beach was easy and everyone loved the location! Would definitely stay again. The only issue we encountered was the WiFi it was a bit spotty. It wasn’t a big deal to us because we were vacationing anyway!!

Excellent stay in a prime location! We were a group of kiteboarders staying for the weekend and found the accommodations to be perfect, located within close walking distance to the beach. Lots of privacy with the rooms and spacious set up with the layout of the home. Everything was clean and well stocked with lots of towels, extra blankets, and cooking supplies. It was a very unique experience with lots of added extras, including an outdoor grill and lots of outdoor seating. The lights on the outside of the house at night were beautiful. Can’t wait to come back.

Location, location, location

This is a great place to stay! We walked to the beach every day, the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, and the place was a fantastic size! The loft would be perfect for grade school aged kids but even though we didn't use it there was still tons of space for our small group.

Great Time In Michigan

Stayed in this wonderful location. Property was very clean and unique. Great location, close to a beautiful beach and day trip to dunes for a day trip. The common areas were perfect for relaxing in the evening and enjoying a drink or watching a movie. Roberto was more than helpful in making this a great vacation.

Spacious Home

This house was wonderful for a large group, with multiple areas to hang out in - both indoors and outdoors. Spacious bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, clean bathrooms. Very close to multiple beaches!

Unique property

Roberto’s place was a great home base for our group when we visited Muskegon for a sailing regatta. The place was very clean and had all the amenities for our group to cook and relax at the end of the day. The upstairs living room was an awesome place to watch the NFL game. Definitely will try to stay there again if we come back to the area.

Wonderful vacation home

The home was perfect for our 10 member family, ranging in age from 10 to 70. It was spacious and met our needs perfectly. The home was beautifully designed for a larger group. The location was perfect, offering a variety of activities within a short distance including a wonderful beach and a great bike path. The host, Roberto was wonderful. I highly recommend it.

Great place to stay in Muskegon

The renovated church is a unique property and ringing the bell each evening to start our happy hour was an added plus. The property was very clean and comfortable and the location was perfect for us as we explored the towns north and south of Muskegon, taking in the beautiful Michigan scenery and charm. The beach is very close and we went there almost every night to watch the kite surfers and the sunset. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Roberto for being a wonderful host and giving us good suggestions on what to do.

Fantastic Home

This beautifully refurbished church is a unique, clean, comfortable place to stay when you are visiting Muskegon. Our children and grandchildren enjoyed themselves so much while staying here. It is walking distance to Pere Marquette Beach, one of the nicest beaches we have visited along the Lake Michigan coast. Our host, Roberto was a genuinely gracious man that was so pleasant to work with. We will definitely come back to this home next time we are in Muskegon.

Great location in Muskegon

If you are looking for an affordable place within a 5 minute walk to the beach this is the place. A harbor is also a 5 minute walk the opposite direction. There is a family of deer that hang out in the neighborhood at dusk and dawn every day. Take a bike! The host also set us up for a sailboat ride which was great!

Very Nice

The church house is exactly as it appears online. It’s immaculately clean. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed. The beautiful beaches are within walking distance though we did drive there with all our beach equipment. I really enjoyed walking the bike path each day. It’s a very nice property.

Blufton

Roberto was great. The house was spacious, allowing plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The neighborhood wasn’t as nice as I had hoped. Overall, it served our purposes. Our grand kids loved the bell tower!

Thanks for your review and for coming to stay. I'm glad you enjoyed our property. Although there are older properties in this neighborhood that need some TLC it is probably still the most desirable real estate in Muskegon, 50% higher property values and more, on account of it's historic significance, and obvious proximity to the Lake Michigan beach and Muskegon Lake. Many of the Bluffton homes were built in the early 1900 as summer cottages for the artist colony that included characters such as Buster Keaton (one of the first silent film actors/stars). While some homes may need improvements, many people don't want it to change and fear the onslaught of developers who will erase the character of this neighborhood. I preserved and re-purposed and completely modernized the historic Bluffton Church as a personal mission to help preserve a part of history here that people cherish. If the developers take over it may never be the same. Many people have likened this little neighborhood to the "Key West" of Michigan. I've spent time in Key West so I can relate to that analogy. The other important thing for people to know is that this consistently is THE #1 SAFEST neighborhood in all of Muskegon, practically zero crime rate here. Plus, because of our "off the beaten path" location there is hardly any traffic, unlike the properties along the beach that have traffic jams and noise in front of their homes day and night all summer long. The locals in Bluffton look out for each other and are very active with the city government and helping to keep the beach clean and promoting positive activity. It might be hard to appreciate those aspects of this neighborhood as a non-resident, but I have been living here for the past 15 years and I couldn't be happier. Many of the residents here are multi-generational and it is a very close knit group of people. The city of Muskegon is currently in a period of revival and rebirth. Lots of new development happening in and around the city, bringing in tourist based amenities, restaurants, and microbreweries, etc. And from June thru October there is usually some sort of special event (music, surf fest, beer fest, Irish fest, etc) happening every week. We have been landlords on long term and vacation properties for over 40 years. We take very good care of our properties and make every reasonable effort to make sure our tenants and guests are comfortable. We value our tenants and always work hard to encourage long term relationships.

We purchased this charming property in this quaint and safe neighborhood after the last minister decided to retire. Because of its historic importance to the neighborhood (Buster Keaton Actors Colony) we felt that converting the church into a residential rental property would save it from being run down or demolished by developers. It seemed like the right thing to do and we hope that people will enjoy all the effort that has gone into it, and the beauty of surrounding area for many years to come.

Unique in its larger size (3000+ sf) among many smaller cottage properties nearby with spacious open common areas for groups and families to enjoy a relaxing holiday year round, 3 blocks from the best beach on Lake Michigan and a premier yachting/boating lake 2 blocks away. If you are arriving with air travel there is a regional airport in Grand Rapids 40 miles away and a county airport only 5 miles away with convenient connections thru Chicago, Detroit, and several other Midwest hubs. Rental cars are available locally. A cross lake passenger/car ferry to & from Milwaukee is 2 miles from the property.

We cannot claim to be ADA compliant however there is a ramp into upper level of the the house and safety features in all bathrooms. The lower level requires walking up/down 3 steps to enter or exit .
