Fantastic accommodations. Very helpful, responsive and professional. The house was clean. Could use a deep clean. Would 100% rent again. Great location.

Great location

Great weekend. Clean, accessibility was great, plenty of room. Everyone enjoyed the stay and want to make it annual event.

Code received for check in was wrong had to drive back to office to get ahold of someone. Not very clean. Fans very dusty found dead bugs. One hot tub did not work and was green.

Labor Day Weekend '22

Our friends and family had the most incredible time celebrating at Salty Banana. We thoroughly enjoyed having 2 pools and 2 hot tubs during our stay. The oceanfront home exceeded our expectations. One of my favorite vacations I've ever had! Thank you for having us!

Fabulous time in a wonderful location

We had a ball staying at the Salty Banana! We rented both sides for a large group of friends and the location was just perfect. Access to the beach was easy and the house itself was well appointed. The elevators worked great and we also found out that Carolina Beach Recreation Center offers free beach wheelchair rentals to the public which was so wonderful (and a tip for anyone else looking for accessibility perks during your stay!). We did not want our trip to end!

Salty But Sweet!

We rented both sides of the Salty Banana and it is beautiful duplex with an amazing view! The hot tubs were not even warm, and one barely had any water in it. Both bedrooms downstairs do not seem to warm up at all. And we did not have enough towels for our group of 21 when we arrived.The property itself was perfect for our mission trip, and eventually one of the hot tubs got up to 85 degrees and we received more towels!

Our family rented both sides of the duplex, but I can comment mostly on the one on the north side, the Salty Sunrise. On the plus side, the pools were great, and it was a short walk to the beach. There were lots of pool and beach toys provided. The place was clean, and the rooms were a nice size. We arrived at 4:00 which is check-in time, but the cleaning crew also arrived about that time, so we couldn't get in for a while. They did clean the kitchen first so we could get our groceries in the fridge. Our entry code didn't work, but we didn't realize that right away because the cleaning crew had opened the units. After that, we had to knock to get let in, or leave the unit open until they supplied us with a new code. That took some back and forth communication before they really believed us that it didn't work. Two of our toilets broke the second or third day, and it took a couple of days for them to respond. We asked for a repair in the 2nd unit to the toilet, but they never responded. The kitchen had lots of plates, cups, pans, etc,. but was short on some tools like can openers and corkscrews. There was one of each of those between the two units. The ice maker had to be turned on and didn't work very well, so we ended up buying bags of ice. The dining table in our unit had a very tacky finish, as if it had been cleaned improperly. We finally put a sheet over it because it was uncomfortable. The other unit (A) had nicer furnishings and kitchen.

Perfect Location, Home needs some TLC

We had our extended family of 17 rent both sides of this unit for a week. The set up of the houses was great and the location and view were AMAZING! However, both sides of the house are in need of some TLC and repair. One side smelled like cat urine - so much so that even my 15 year old niece noticed it. There were broken shower doors, broken towel racks, broken fridge handle, broken cabinet doors, and other miscellaneous things that needed repair. There were hardly any towels provided - I wish I would have known that or I would have brought some of our own. Also, the sliding glass doors on the ocean side did not lock. But probably the most concerning aspect was that the one hot tub was SO hot my nephew put his foot in on the first day - about ready to climb in and fortunately realized something wasn't right and immediately took it out. He still ended up blistering on his foot he burned so bad. We contacted the real estate agency immediately and they said they would send someone out. It took another text a few days later for someone to finally come. It never got fixed.My husband investigated and realized the hot tub was at 123 degrees! I'm so thankful we didn't have too young of children with us because someone really could've been seriously injured/burned!

Great Property for our Family Reunion

We hosted a family reunion at the Salty Banana and the property proved to be a wonderful location for that activity. The shared deck on the second floor overlooking the two pools and ocean was the highlight of our stay.
