This was our second stay at Heard House. Really enjoy the comfort and French countryside feel to the house, Excellent location adjacent to downtown Murphys. The host is very responsive and flexible. Wonderful experience ... thank you!

We have stayed here 3 times and love it more Everytime. Everything is provided accept a full length mirror. I had my husband take pics and used that as a mirror. This is the most pleasant cottage.

Wonderful property, wonderful stay. All was as advertised. Seamless checkin/checkout.Great communication with host. Quick to respond and excellent at providing all necessary info. So relaxing, all amenities were thoughtful and appreciated. Did not want to leave the lovely home. Will definitely be back. Great VRBO experience.

Great location and home base for our first visit to the area. One block off of Murphys’ Main Street, yet so peaceful and quiet.

We loved this place! My husband I like to stay in places that are quiet, clean and walkable to town. The Heard House did not disappoint. We were greeted by Darrell and Moby upon arrival and felt welcome straight away. The kitchen was clean and well-stocked. A nice touch was having coffee, sweeteners, and half and half already available, plus a few snacks—not a common touch in our experience! We were 1 block off the main drag with tons of wine tasting and restaurants, and even live music. We loved Grounds for breakfast. The town is pretty quiet during the week and revs up over the weekend. We also loved how central the location was to places like Mercer Caverns, Calaveras Big Trees, and Jamestown. Overall, a great place to stay… just what we needed to getaway from our normally hectic lives.

Very clean. Loved the fresh flowers. Another thoughtful touch was the mosquito repellent. Fully equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. Ceiling fans and a/c worked well.

This was a great place! Plenty of windows and natural light. Decorations were really well done and it felt very homey. Lights and outlets everywhere, well done! Loved the outdoor shower too. The fixtures and tub/shower are antique style, looks great but a little difficult to use. Overall a wonderful property!Thanks!

This little place was perfect for my husband and I as it was our virgin voyage in bringing our little peanut dogs on a sleep away. The property is completely fenced which was such a relief and our dogs just loved the size-so huge! They provided us with coffee and cream, which was a boon as well as an entire bowl of snacks which really came in handy. The bed was comfy and the shower was nice and hot. Thank you for hosting us!

It was a delightful way to end the year, to disconnect, in a serene and quiet environment. Murphy's is sweet and quaint; we loved our visit to the Giant Sequoias and to Columbia State Park; the movie theater at Angel's Camp.... and to of course come back to cook and relax in our lovely cottage.

Very quiet, clean and comfy. Thank you for the 1/2 1/2 in the fridge. So nice to not have to worry about picking some up for morning coffee. Walking distance to lovely downtown Murphys. We will back for your hospitality.

The place was quiet, clean and in a perfect spot to walking anywhere. The only thing I have to say to improve your future is to let renters know it is not handicap friendly. The shower was scary.
