Ophold i denne smukke, charmerende villa fra Swahili mod Det Indiske Ocean er en unik oplevelse: absolut ro og komfort i en økologisk ånd. Her kan du leve unisont med tidevand, sol og måne, aber og fugle ... Dejlig øde strand ved dine fødder, spring ned i poolen mod havet og en stor ro lige til dig! Stedet er også ideelt til at fejre en begivenhed.

Villa Robinson er en smuk eksklusiv ejendom beliggende i Pangani, på den tanzaniske kyst mod Zanzibar-øhavet. Denne bevarede region er en perle af sindsro langt fra masseturismen for dens støjende nabo.

Alle vores lejere foretrak deres ophold i Choba villa end Zanzibar, hvor de fortsatte deres ophold! Kom og test ...

Huset (250 m²) blev bygget i 2012 med lokale materialer: træ, kokosnødetræblade, koralsten osv. I swahili-stil: lokalt stråtækt tag (makuti) for at sikre god cirkulation af vand. 'air og tilbyder tre smukke rummelige soveværelser, der har deres eget badeværelse og alle har havudsigt samt en terrasse eller stor balkon med liggestole.

Til dine måltider vil du sætte pris på den store skyggefulde og godt ventilerede terrasse, omgivet af frodig vegetation ...
Huset kan lejes i fuldpension med en kok (minimum 3 nætter), der tilbereder dine måltider baseret på frisk fisk, rejer, hummer osv. Alt efter dagens fangst.

Til din rådighed: et køkken, en udendørs grillplads med havudsigt til grillet fisk fanget af lokale fiskere, et "solariumsrum" med udsigt over stranden med liggestole og komfortable madrasser i skyggen af stråtækt tag, en lille swimmingpool med havvand til afkøling og en "sofabåd" til en aperitiff ud mod havet ...

Vi kan arrangere begivenheder til dig: fødselsdagsfest med dine venner osv.: Udflugter på en atoll med måltider på stedet, musikgruppe og show i haven af Villa osv. Efter anmodning.

Our wonderful African adventure

We spent (two adults and one child aged 12) a month in Choba Bay Villa. This was our first African experience. We have repeatedly rented a house in isolated locations (Costa Rica, Philippines, El Salvador). Choba Bay corresponds to this desire to be away from the noise of the city. The owner has arranged our arrival in Dar Es Salaam as well as our transportation to Choba Bay (5 hours). This overland travel has enabled us to take the pulse of this great country. Once at the villa, we discovered an absolutely amazing team. Everyone, without exception, was incredibly kind ... round the clock, 7 days on 7. So no worries. The staff is undoubtedly the key success of our trip. We really miss them. Settling in Choba Bay was a very good approach to Tanzania, although the distances are great. The nearest village (15 minutes drive), Pangani, allowed us to get some basics things (drinks, internet) but it must go 1h30 to go to Tanga offering more services (banks, super market). The house was at the height of our expectations. The beach, which is not visible from the house and rocky, was a small limit with our 12 years old boy. Tanzania is a fabulous country. Besides the safaris (expensive) we stay on our appetite because we would spend a lot more time to discover other regions. A big thank you to everyone for this wonderful trip.

Many thanks Mario for your positive comments. All our staff is missing you and asked news from you ! We are happy that you enjoyed your long stay in our area. We organized all your meals as you took a Chef during your stay which is good as you don't have to look for food or service during your relaxing holidays. The closest big city, Tanga 45 km is reachable in 45 min and offers everything you can find in (market, shops, bank facilities etc) otherwise going to Pangani is only 7km and easy driving. They're is a project of big tarmac road Mombassa-Dar which will helps a lot the transfer time. We are waiting for it impatiently but am sure you agree that the charm of the place is to be quiet and very different than other places. They're is a risk of big change in years to come with big roads which will attracts more tourism. The atmosphere of the area is something rare that you can't find easily today in any coastal environment. Let's hope we will keep it for some years. Note that we have reliable partners to organise your safaris in Tanzania but I agree that this is a budget to plan by advance. About transfers to the villa, we can have a lot of options : buses from all the main town of Tanzania, short flights to Pangani possible from Selous, Dar, Zanzibar, Arusha, Moshi etc speed boat to reach Zanzibar island (only 1h30 ). We are waiting to welcome you back one day, to explore more our beautiful country. Tanzania is really a great destination in Africa and people are really friendly ! We wish you all the best.

Not recommended

We have spent many years travelling around Africa so we know the crack but this is the worst expensive experience to date. We arrived for a three week ‘executive’ break to recharge but left the villa after ten days; enough was enough. If you want to know more – read on: Important; there are extremely large rocks on the villas private beach so swimming is only possible at high tide and you have to be vigilant especially if the sea is a bit rough. Wouldn’t say it was safe for children. Overall the ‘luxury’ villa was badly maintained and definitely not ready for us when we arrived. The most significant examples were: w/c’s repeatedly failed to flush and leaked on occasions – not so bad if you know where the mop and bucket is kept! The fans rotated but didn’t fan. The mosquito nets had rips and tears even though it’s a malaria risk area (one of the staff fell ill with malaria while we were there). Important; the kitchen is separate to the villa and guests are not allowed access at night when the staff leave – so if you like a cuppa or another treat in the evening hard luck! We chose the ‘local chef’ option but he was frightened of the oven and struggled even with breakfast. He couldn’t organise the food supply so we gained access and found food rotting in the fridge and some of the ‘fresh’ food rotting on the floor, stored in plastic bags. The ‘fresh fish’ came out of a freezer that was turned off at night! Despite the number of staff promised, we only saw two as the maintenance man was also the maid. The manager & host who was to take care of our needs and provide a bar and waiter service was a local taxi driver who only called in occasionally and to collect the shopping money. We hired the car that was offered: its condition was dangerous. So we refused to use it and remained stranded as a result.

Thank you for your review . We pride ourselves on being able to provide the necessary amenities for our guests. We regret that you didn’t choose the « right place » for you. What you describe is not reflecting the reality otherwise we won’t have so many excellent comments; In fact, the review is incorrect and states erroneous information. Christmas time is the hottest time of the year and you found this year was really hot ! We are sorry that you suffer about the weather just arrived from England and that you found the fans were not refreshing enough. That’s why the staff prepared the upper room for you as you were only 2 persons because we knew this was the best room to get a lot of good air and refreshing atmosphere. At your arrival, they were surprised and confused that you choose the 2 bedrooms downstairs. This is why you found a little leak on one toilet (we have 4 in that house !) which happens in that area because of lot of salt in the air which damage everything. Our watchman fixed it immediatly as well as 2 little holes in the mosquito net which have been repaired the same day (Now remplaced by a new one). We have mosquito nets on all beds and we spray every evening all rooms. We hire for you a Chef used to work in a restaurant and perfectly able to prepare all meals but you were not satisfy. We regret that you didn’t choose the Professional Chef from Dar that we recommend you to fit your high expectations as this would avoid desapointment. We refunded you this service which didn’t please you; The staff looking after you was a maintenance man, an efficient housekeeper, a Chef, a Host, a gardener and night guard. When we have important group, we add more staff but for two persons it was ok. You asked for the key of the kitchen at night but the staff was chocked in the morning to find all the food you didn’t like in the garbage, even sugar or flour. In such a poor area it was difficult to accept. We never had any issue with food with all the guests staying in the villa. No one has been sick - we have excellent comments about the food. We don’t use fish from the freezer for our guests if it has been turned off at night (you took the staff’s fish and thru it away) otherwise we would have serious issues. That behavior was inappropriate. You left without notice after 10 days without telling the owners then you ask a refund ! We sincerely apologize about your disappointment and sent you a fair refund. Some guests are difficult, we tried our best !

Really wonderful ! We loved it !

We spent two weeks in that private Villa and we loved those relaxing holidays. Everything was just perfect for us. We were welcome by a nice fresh juice at our arrival, the villa was well prepared, clean and even the beds had nice flowers deco ! It was more than we were expecting. We were happy to find very confortable spring mattress as my back is painy. It was quite hot but with the fans and the natural air we were fine. The property is very private, very quiet so we were able to relax all day and it was easy to go out and visit places around. The villa is very nice, well maintained and has three large bedrooms with stunning views ! We spent lot of time in the huge shaded and airy verandah. Everything is they're for your confort : two big coaches to take a nap after lunch, long chairs facing the Ocean. Everyday, we observe lots of exotic birds, it was just beautiful. We had quite a number of monkeys jumping in the coconut trees around, our son was having a lot of fun observing them. They're is a very pleasant beach area with long chairs, mattresses and the staff arranged in the morning our towels and cushions, just like an hotel ! The food was tasty, based on seafood, fresh fish and we were lucky to get lobsters during our stay. The Chef was just amazing and very friendly. We were really on holidays with nothing to worry. They asked us our diet requirements then everything was prepared, serve at the table and delicious ! They're is also a BBQ place where we had grilled fish with salads facing the Ocean. We really enjoyed swimming in warm waters (coming from Europe at wintertime) and as the owner asks us to bring some plastic sandals we never meet any problem to go in the water even at low tide. They're are some corals in the place, big rocks on the beach which makes something very special. We spent time to admire the different fossils, holes, coves and we enjoyed a lot.The beach is big enough to walk on the sand and we have been one kilometer away without meeting anyone apart children of the area. In fact some days, it was a bit rough because of the big tides at that period, we didn't think to go swimming but we enjoyed staying hours reading from the long chairs of that lovely beach area. We had memorable holidays thanks to the friendly staff they're, we will recommend the place to our friends and we hope to come back one day ! Nous avons passé des vacances formidables, très relaxantes dans cette belle villa privée. Merci !

Les enfants de Choba bay

Nous revenons de Tanzanie et avons passé deux semaines en famille sur la côte pour profiter de la chaleur de l’Océan Indien en plein hiver européen. Nous avons choisi comme destination Pangani et surtout la Villa Choba Bay que nous avions trouvé par recommandation sur internet. Nous avons pris l’avion pour Dar El Salaam puis un petit vol domestique et avons été accueillis à Tanga par le taxi qui nous a emmené sur place. Choba Bay Villa est une destination magique. Celle qui vous fait penser que c'est vous l'intrus.... parmi le monde animalier, la végétation, la côte sauvage et les plages désertes vierges du tourisme. Un lieu qui permet à votre âme d'enfant de vibrer sans retenue. Une destination où luxe rime avec authenticité, aventure avec raffinement… C'est un petit paradis en dehors du tourisme de masse de Zanzibar où nous avons terminé notre séjour en regrettant d’avoir quitté Choba Bay… Une destination forte et enrichissante, assurément ! Nous avons été accueillis par une équipe d’une extrême gentillesse, discrète, efficace et très professionnelle : Innocencia, notre cuisinière hors pair qui nous a servi des repas dignes d’un 4 étoiles, sous l’immense et magnifique véranda donnant sur le grand jardin et la mer. Nous avons pu parfois (au petit matin et le soir) croiser les petits singes vervet sauvages, sautant de cocotiers en cocotiers et avons vu de nombreux oiseaux exotiques ; notre contact sur place Dullah était très disponible à tout moment et nous a trouvé toutes les solutions pour nous rendre de multiples services. Anita, la femme de ménage, d’une efficacité redoutable pour rendre les chambres d’une propreté impeccable. La literie est d’ailleurs d’excellente qualité. Le gardien de nuit assurerait des rondes jusqu’au petit matin. Le jardinier entretient le jardin tous les jours avec attention…tout le monde a été à nos petits soins. Nous avons passés 15 jours dans cette maison et quelque chose s’est passé ; nous nous demandons si nous sommes revenus "pareils" de Choba Bay : il y des lieux et des voyages qui transforment, et il nous a semblé, à Choba bay, goûter au « paradis » et au bonheur d’être en Afrique, celle dont on rêvait, la sauvage ! Nous recommandons vraiment cette propriété où nous avons passé des vacances que nous n’oublierons jamais.

Merci Pierre et Hélène pour votre ressenti et vos superbes commentaires sur notre propriété ! Nous sommes toujours heureux lorsque nos voyageurs passent d'excellentes vacances. Il semble que vos deux semaines aient opéré un charme sur votre famille et tant mieux ! Il existe peu d'endroits au monde qui restent aussi authentiques et naturels que cette villa sur la côte de Pangani encore peu fréquentée par les touristes. C'est une expérience bien différente du tourisme de masse et beaucoup de nos locataires l'apprécient à sa juste valeur (voir l'ensemble des commentaires à part ce couple d'anglais venu chercher du luxe moderne). Dans quelques proches années une grosse route va rejoindre Mombassa et Dar ce qui changera totalement le paysage de la région alors il faut vite en profiter de cette douceur de vivre, ces petits villages tranquilles de pêcheurs, des plages désertes sans beach boys ! En tous cas vous serez les bienvenus pour une prochaine visite.

Un paradis pour un séjour de rêve

Une semaine de rêve dans cette belle et confortable villa avec une vue extraordinaire sur l'océan. Le jardin est superbe et le calme absolu loin de tout. De belles balades et baignades remplissent les journées et nous avons été au petit soin des personnes qui s'occupent de la maison. Les repas sont excellents et nous reviendrons.

Magnifique séjour dans cette belle villa

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour entre amis dans cette belle villa bien aménagée et décorée, un coin plage aménagé pour se détendre. Si vous souhaitez vous reposer, c'est l'endroit idéal, plage privée, coin barbecue, très beau jardin. Nous avions loué la voiture de la propriétaire. Excellent accueil, le cuisinier nous a fait connaitre la cuisine locale, c'était très bon et le personnel de maison était au petit soin, attentionné. Nous souhaitons y retourner en 2016 pour un plus long séjour. @ recommander

Just Amazing

We were looking for a quiet place with my girlfriend to spent some days between Safari and Zanzibar in a less touristic environment to discover deeper the Tanzanian Food and Culture, and we decided to take some rest close to the very Tanzanian town of Pangani. 5 days amazing in this house. 100% new house, very clean and well-maintained. Rooms are well ventilated and soundproofing. Excellent cookers which can cook very traditional dishes or European food very well (100% clean for our European stomachs and definitely better than in big hostels on the Zanzibar - Nungwi coast !!!). Special Award to the local fishermen who come regularly to sell fresh Big lobsters (4 for 10€ for us !!! :D). Very nice and various activities are possible in and close to the house. Volley Ball, all beach games directly in the big garden or on the deserted beach. Snorkelling close to Pangani (TurtleS :D), visit of Pangani... Special Award to the beach too ( a lot of Award, I know :D)! Deserted lovely beach only for us and crabs (fun but shy : be quiet), water at 30°, very clear (great with fins and masks!)... No neighbors ! If you are lucky you could only maybe meet on the beach Valerie McGivern who is the director of the 2 schools (boys AND GIRLS) in Pangani and who sometimes walk on this unending beach. Lovely and very brave English women who built these 2 schools these last years. BTW don't hesitate to take some papers and paints (if you have some Kg remaining in your luggage) for the young children of the primary school not far from the house. Their smiles and happiness will enjoy your travel and you heart. As conclusion, I will say this is an amazing house in a 100% preserved paradise with a deserted beach only for us. Be quiet and you will meet crabs, Be watch full and you could see monkeys in the garden trees... Heaven is not very far... Only one regret, we didn't stay enough time ... but we will certainly come back !

INOUBLIABLE !

Nous revenons du paradis ... nous avons absolument adoré CHOBA BAY VILLA !! Quel rêve d'endroit l L'arrivée en soi vaut déjà le détour ... petit Cessna au départ de Zanzibar pour atterrir aprés 20 mn .... sur l'herbe au milieu des plantations. Unique ! Choba Bay Villa : pas juste un bel endroit mais l' expérience de la tranquililté absolue ! La maison spacieuse et aérée surplombe une plage déserte à la Robinson. Elle est entourée d'un parc vallonné : palmiers manguiers orangers et citronniers ... Sympathique ersonnel de maison toujours prêt à vous servir au miieux. Nous avions pris la location en pension complète ( à recommander ) et avons même savouré des langoustes pêchées en face de la villa !! Explorer les creux et criques à marée basse pour dénicher les crabes, les oursins ... et aussi découvrir les beaux coraux, coquillages etc.. En fait ici nous avons goûté le luxe d'une vie simple rythmée par le soleil et les marées pour des vraies vacances au naturel. Inoubliable ces 5 jours en dehors du temps ... Nous reviendrons !
