Where to start?! The cabin is spacious, clean, thoughtfully updated and fully stocked with anything you might need. Great location, just a short walk into town. Awesome screened porch and open back deck overlooking river with a well maintained hot tub and plenty of seating. Lots of wildlife despite being super close to town. We saw deer, elk, horses, and hummingbirds. The hosts were absolutely a pleasure to work with. Cathi sent us detailed instructions before check in and was so helpful along the way. She should teach a course on hosting short term rentals! Overall a great cabin that we plan to return to frequently in the future!

We had a great stay at this house. It was conveniently located, well equipped & felt private for beingin the center of town. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed out time here. The space is comfortable, clean and had beautiful views that made the trip even more relaxing. Everything we needed was available, and the overall experience was smooth and enjoyable. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Wonderful stay in Ruidoso!

We had a lovely time in Ruidoso. So relaxing. Just what the doctor ordered! Our cabin was beautiful. Management was fantastic!

Superb cabin near town

The home was perfect! Close to town, a park w playset, and hiking! Communication w the owner was easy. The kitchen was awesome. We loved this cabin!

Wonderful Christmas Getaway

This property was PERFECT for my families’ Christmas getaway. Location of the house in Ruidoso is ideal - very close to restaurants and shops and a short drive to the local winter park and Lincoln National Forest. The host was incredible - very quick to respond to questions prior to our stay and attentive to any issues/questions we had during the stay (even on Christmas!) I would HIGHLY recommend this property!

Amazing Property!

We have been traveling to Ruidoso the past 17 years for family trips. We have been blessed to stay in some good properties but this home is incredible. It is evident that the owners did not hold back when updating this property. Excellent location close to downtown but still have the Upper Canyon feel. We will rent this property on future trips!!

I’m so glad you appreciated the effort put into the remodel. It was a big challenge, but we are quite proud of the final outcome. We continue to add improvements each year such as the custom bunk beds finished out with a tree cut on the property. You are spot on about the location and the Upper Canyon feel. Our first cabin is a 1-bedroom in the Upper Canyon which also looks down on the river. When we spotted this hidden gem that needed a big dose of attention, we had the same feeling of peaceful relaxation. We couldn’t wait to bring it back to life and enjoy it. Quintessential Ruidoso

Charming historic renovation with the modern amenities that matter most….plenty of bathrooms and all renovated so cleverly to keep with historic feel, modern kitchen with chef-worthy range & oven, and a screen porch made for sipping coffee! Beds were sooooo comfy! We played all day at the racetrack and scoot a boot at the Win Place Show, Ruidoso’s most iconic bar. All the fun of downtown and Cree Meadows golf course is just a short stroll away. We all loved the house and hope to return!

Roomy!

Very nice The outside surrounding the house could use some cleaning up. Pine Needles and steps were in need of maintenance. Overall the house was nice

Thank you. Prior to your arrival, Ruidoso had just experienced high winds which resulted in showers of pine needles. We maintain the grounds regularly, but can’t control the effects of storms in between cleanings. The crew came three days before your arrival. We would have gladly sent them to clear the grounds again had you mentioned it. Since you did not respond to any of my messages, I assumed that all was well. I wish I had known so your stay could have been perfect. I want every guest to have great memories to take home with them. Cathi

Birthday get away

This is the second time we have stayed here. Don’t hesitate to book this cabin. We love that is has a big screened in front porch. When we were there, it rained everyday. It was nice to sit in the screened in area and watch the storm. It is also nice to be able to sit and watch our kids play while we get to enjoy the fans. It is in a great location. The owner is really easy to communicate with and responds quickly. I would gladly stay here a third time.

I agree about enjoying the storms on the porch…there is something special about hearing the deep thunder moving through the mountains…it’s nothing like we experience at home. Wonderful!

Cabin in the Sky is a great place to stay! The pictures and description of this cabin are completely accurate. It is clean, well stocked, very comfortable and close to town. My husband, two adult daughters (early 20s) and I stayed in this cabin for three weeks and we enjoyed every minute! Two of us worked remotely from the cabin with no issues at all, as the wi-fi is excellent and there is plenty of room to spread out. Cathi, the host, is organized and easy to work with. We highly recommend staying at Cabin in the Sky!

The best pick!

This great location puts you amongst the trees and near the river, yet so close to the shops and restaurants. Our dogs loved it, our kids loved it, we loved it! The kitchen- everything you need and more. I really felt at home and hope to return. We often stay in VRBO's and trust the ratings... this one is truly set up to make every guest happy and to make life easy... more than 5 stars! Sincere thanks to Cathi. What was already the perfect rental became even more exceptional thanks to her.

Beautiful deck with a view!

We really enjoyed our stay in this charming cabin. We spent a lot of time sitting on the deck and in the hot tub gazing out at the pine trees, which was so relaxing. We biked and walked into town several times and loved how close it was even though we felt a world away while on that deck. We also biked to Grindstone Lake which was just a couple miles away, and the color of the water was breathtaking. It was fun seeing deer and elk from the deck and around the neighborhood frequently. Cathi was so wonderful to help us with all of our questions.

The best mountain getaway!

This was our second time staying at the Cabin in the Sky — we came back because we loved it!! It’s an easy walk to town, and an easy drive to so many cool places. The home is spacious and has a hot tub. We played (waterproof!) cards in the hot tub most mornings! The home owner is very personable and responds rapidly to messages. We feel lucky to have escaped the August Texas heat, at this fantastic cabin. Our kids are 5&8 and they loved the bunk room. We will be back!!

Christmas at Cabin in the Sky

Great time with family at this cozy, but spacious, open home with nearby snow tubing, Xmas tree cutting, hiking, horseback riding, and village sleigh riding and shopping, Cathi surprised us with Xmas gifts, our permit to cut the tree, and a tree skirt! Wonderful amenities included updated and stocked farmhouse kitchen and heated bathroom floors. The family kept the hot tub busy, the fireplace lit, and enjoyed the screened in porch and large deck. No snow, but somehow we managed to have fun! Lol
