The Fashion House is more than a place to stay—it's an opportunity to experience Madison's history, architecture, music, and riverfront lifestyle from one of the city's most distinctive homes.
Built in the early 1840's, the home immediately impresses with its 14-foot ceilings, oversized rooms, original hardwood floors, and architectural details that are difficult to find today. During the renovation, we worked to preserve the character that makes the property special, including the original hand-operated water pump, clawfoot tub, the home's original doorbell and curved staircase. These touches provide a glimpse into what life was like in Madison nearly two centuries ago.
At the same time, the home has been thoughtfully updated with a modern kitchen, updated baths, contemporary lighting, premium appliances, high-speed internet, and music throughout the house. The result is the perfect blend of historic elegance and modern comfort.
One of the home's greatest advantages is its location. Situated in the center of Madison's Historic District, you're steps from Main Street, local restaurants, cafés, boutiques, galleries, music venues, and the Ohio River. Bicentennial Park and Madison's riverfront amphitheater are just a short walk away, placing many of the city's concerts, festivals, and community events right outside your door. It's easy to see why Madison has earned the name of Indiana's Music City.
The Fashion House is also one of the largest vacation rentals in Madison. With four spacious bedrooms, three full baths, and room to comfortably sleep 10 guests, it's ideal for family gatherings, wedding weekends, girls' trips, holiday celebrations, and group getaways.
What truly makes this property unique is that it allows guests to enjoy the best of Madison—the history, the music, the river, and the vibrant downtown—all from a beautifully restored home that has become one of the city's landmark properties.
