Denne private gæst suiter er ca. 400 m² med smukke nye møbler, trægulve, loftsventilatorer, privat parkering og du kan gå til alle downtown bryggerier, butikker, restauranter, vandreture og NAU. Amazing location for exploring by foot. Lots of restaurants, breweries, and shops in easy walking distance. Felt very safe walking around at night. Very clean room.Host responded very quickly to a question we had about parking. Will likely book this again in the future when we want to escape the heat of Phoenix.

Phenomenal Stay!

Our stay at this VRBO vacation home was phenomenal! The location was perfect, with plenty of boutiques and shops right at our doorstep - it was the cherry on top of our Flagstaff adventure. We felt safe and secure throughout our stay, and the cleanliness of the home was great. We'd definitely book again and highly recommend it to friends and family.

Great place to get a good night sleep. Tucked off the Main Street but just steps to the action. Bed was comfy. And had everything that is needed for resting your head after long day.

It was a perfect retreat to beat the phoenix heat! Very convenient for either the dog walks to the campus or our daily treks downtown for food and shopping. The onsite parking was far more secure than typical street parking. Once parked inside the gated area, the car did not move. While the room was a little dark with just a smaller front window, it was great for the afternoon siesta. There is plenty of light fixtures if you need illumination. It matched what we saw advertised and checked all our boxes!

Great little home away from home

I stayed here by myself for two nights while visiting family in Flagstaff. I initially chose it for the downtown location, which is walking distance to many places I wanted to visit. The bed was super comfy with extra soft bedding and all needed amenities were available. The host was able to let me check in a few hours early, which was greatly appreciated. I honestly wouldn’t have been aware of the homeless shelter next door if the VRBO listing hadn’t mentioned it. No issues whatsoever in that regard. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Cottage #2

Very urban location. You can walk to many restauraunts & shops. Will hear the freight train. Clean and cute. Wifi password, coffee maker and a few toiletries was nice. Unfortunately as a solo female traveller with her dog, this cottage is located next door to a soup kitchen/ homeless shelter and was a little startling- a lot of guys hanging around at all times in doorways and bushes. Gated parking is good although its awkward to lock. My front door was ajar one day getting back from a hike. The lock didn't take? Lastly, there is no kitchenette so making lunches for hiking is diffucult. Have to use mini fridge in bathroom and bathroom sink for washing dishes.

We know that most of our guests select this specific location since it is right in the heart of historic downtown Flagstaff to enjoy free parking and walking to shops, restaurants, breweries, NAU and the lively flavor of the city. While most downtown areas have a shelter (and the Flagstaff location is scheduled to move soon) our past guests have always told us that they feel very safe as the cottages are located far back off the road with a security gate. But we certainly understand that as a solo traveler, you might want to consider a place out in the country or a small hotel room the next time, instead. If not, we welcome your return visit. Fantastic location!

We had an amazing stay! The VRBO was exactly as described. Super clean and comfortable (amazing bed!!). We loved that we parked and walked everywhere for 3 days! It was in perfect walking distance to all of the wonderful Downtown restaurants and shops. We would definitely stay here again!

Comfortable room - Convenient Location

This location was great! If your goal is to be walkable to downtown, then this is the place. Yes, there is a mission next door, but there was no issue with the unhoused. The homeless population has grown across Arizona, so it was really no different than where we live. The room was comfortable with a mini fridge and Keurig coffee maker. We opted to get our morning coffee from a bakery just a block away. While there were several bars with live music very close by, the rental sits back off the road a little, so we found it to be quiet if we kept the door closed. We love escaping Phoenix in the heat of the summer and will rent again.

Overall, we enjoyed the location and proximity to everything. Unfortunately we booked the weekend of homecoming. The party never stopped. Music from the bars blasted until 2 am and started again at 6 am. Neighbors on both sides of us had dogs in their units. Between the dogs and their partying, sleep was hard to come by both nights we stayed. Seeking respite from children, it was disappointing. Plainly put, the walls are very thin and you will hear the sounds of downtown, something that had not been left in any reviews. I can’t completely fault the location because I really had no clue I’d made the mistake of booking a prime location on THE prime weekend. I would just advise travelers to look at the university calendar when booking.

Deceiving

We left 5 minutes after checking in. What the owners call Sunshine Christian Center is a rescue mission for homeless men and soup kitchen. So many homeless people and the houses around it seems like flop houses for the homeless. The bathroom window didn't lock and the owner said it really didn't matter because no one could climb through it. We just didn't feel safe there. The owner kept saying that it was gated but anyone can just open the gate or climb over the shorter section. Downtown was a cool area but their proximity to the shelter was unsavory.

We are saddened that this guest specifically booked a downtown location, held the space so others couldn’t book it on a busy weekend, then she learned she could save money by staying with a friend and cancelled at the last minute. To be clear, the cottages are set a distance back from the street, safely behind a heavy metal security gate. Currently, the entire U.S. has a homeless situation. As noted on our site, the downtown Flagstaff area does assist a small few who are in need to food and a Christian education (thus the name Sunshine Christian Center) –which is the same for most U.S. downtown locations including the beaches in California which is far worse. We feel fortunate that all of our guests tell us they love the flavor of the historic Flagstaff area, that the cottages are immaculately clean, the convenience of walking to all the restaurants, bars, entertainment, shopping, enjoying the cool breezes of this historic mountain town and most importantly, that they feel very safe.

charming place great location

My husband and I enjoyed staying at this clean, adorable property. Walking distance to everything! Lots of delicious restaurants and great coffee places! If staying on Friday or Saturday, earplugs may be necessary as the fun atmosphere of the area can be heard at night. Excellent communication with owners, who are super nice people. We would love to stay here again!

Completely redecorated! Its immaculate inside. Top of the line memory King Memory foam mattress. WIFI and Cable TV. Based in Phoenix/Scottsdale for many years, we purchased our Flagstaff Mountain Home 12 years ago --as a respite from the summer heat. We later found this historic 1920's building in the charming downtown area. We love breathing the fresh air, cool mountain breezes, and you can actually drink the mountain tap water!

Park your car at Carmels Cottages and walk to downtown festivals, the weekly Farmers Market in town, one of many breweries offering local craft beer, shopping, local restaurants and hike Thorpe Park. Take a short drive to Humphrey's and enjoy a scenic summer chairlift or winter skiing, sledding trails; Walnut Canyon's cliff dwellings; Lowell Observatory and so much more. We are conveniently located in close proximity to Sedona, Polar Express, Bearizona, the Grand Canyon.
