Nice and renovated two bedroom apartment, two bathrooms - all equipped- in 1 room you can find 1 king bed + 1 Single bed, in the second room 1 Double bed + 1 Single Bed - in the living room area can have the airbed - the location :just 1 block away from the beach!! On the 16th Floor with ocean and lake -views, Located on prime location Bocagrande on San Martin Avenue - close to the Capilla del Mar Hotel. Near the best restaurants,bars, shopping centers, supermarkets, casinos. 24 hour security with a doorman, Cable TV, WIFI, furnished (up to 7 people). Kitchen with stove and refrigerator. The apartment has 3 air conditioner - wifi- hair dryer -iron- coffee maker

Cartagena is one of the safest cities in Latin America. It is highly protected with an Army and Navy Base. Old city is 5 minutes away by $6 taxi. The movie, 'Love in the Time of Cholera,' based on the novel by novel prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez, was filmed in the Old city.

The apartment is ready to live in with linens, and cooking utensils.

I did not get what I expected.

The first day in the apartment the television did not work. I notified the owner, the television was never fixed. The air conditioner in the front room only blew out warm air and leaked water on the floor. It was fixed after being there for 6 days. The shower heads in the shower were laying on the floor of the shower in my bathroom. In the other bathroom the shower head was broken and was finally repaired on day #3. The owner ask if we could use the shower as they were and she would have them fixed after our 7 day stay. I ended up repairing the shower head in my bathroom. The house cleaning lady on day #3 replaced the shower head in the other bathroom. On day #3 the refrigerator and freezer stopped working. After notification of the problem to the owner it was repaired on day #6. I did not know there was no hot water for a shower until I got to the apartment to take a shower. I would never stay there again and believe I should be refunded at least 50% of the money I paid to stay there. I will surely hesitate to rent from the VRBO website. I would not recommend renting this apartment to anyone. Glen T

it was just ok

I stayed here for 5 days and it was just okay. No frills no thrills. A.c. In the living room didn't work and a.c. In one of the bedrooms was working at about 70% cooling. The other a.c. In the other bedroom leaked water but worked very well. Water leaked in the bathroom from the ceiling from above unit probably. It could get very humid and stuffy in the living room and kitchen area. Beds were ok, couch was ok, furniture was ok. Elevator was small and hot. You get what you pay for but for a few more dollars you can stay in a better place in the same area.

Excellent Apartment Across the street from Beach!!!

This apartment was a life saver for us. It was in the heart of everything and next door to a 5 star hotel. Sonja was so nice and accommodating. She made recommendations local attractions. The one area for improvement but not to be taken negative is that some of the windows are the old fashion jealousy windows and it would waste a lot of the AC so during the day it was a little hot but at night it was nice a cool! I wanted her two bedroom listing but since it was already taken she had this available for several days which was in a great location, friendly neighbors and a nice pool. She had her assistant thoroughly clean the apartment prior to our arrival and the accommodations were perfect even though we had 5 of us sleeping in the apartment. We are going to miss the gas stove because it also worked very well for frying our plantains.

Buena Vista!!!

On short notice we were able to book the one bedroom apartment that Sonia had available. The apartment was perfect for our short visit (clean, great view, beach and great restaurants in walking distance and old city and shopping just a short taxi ride away). The view was so much better than we expected ...AWESOME! Sonia is so easy to work with and we look forward to our next visit. We have already recommended the apartment to other friends. Thanks Sonia!

Very Nice

I had the pleasure of staying here back in Oct' 10 and it was a pleasant stay. I was able to communicate with the owner and she was very accomadating for my situation. I had a last minute decision to make and the owner was very pleasant and accomidating. This apartment is very nice and clean. It was more than I expected, it has a great view from both sides of the apartment. Out of one side you see the city and the bay. The other side you can see the ocean. Great value, Great view. If you want an alternative to the sometime pricey hotels try this apartment, located in the heart of town, accesible to everything. I can't say it enough. Great value, Great view. Great location! Great rate!

This is in Bocagrande which is an island strip within walking distance to the old historic part of Cartagena. I personally loved it cause the apartment was well furnished, on a high floor and the lady who gives you the keys, Amalfi, was really nice! Too bad the Internet was down during our stay or the router wasn't working, anyays, that did not stop us from having a great time in Cartagena, besides, there are cheap internet cafe's next door. To go to downtown (old historic Cartagena) you can take a bus (5 minutes for COL$1,300 pesos/US$50 cents) or taxi (5 minutes for COL$3,000 pesos/US$1.50) or just walk along the coast line (free). True, the elevator does leave you on either the 15th or 17th floor, but who cares! not a big issue for me. Some people prefer staying in downtown, which is beautifull, but staying in Bocagrande is great cause it's not far at all and you have the comfort of being in your own 2 bedroom apartment. I WAS THERE FROM 9-23-10 TO 9-29-10, NO HOT WATER, PAINT IS PEELING EVERYWHERE FROM THE WALLS, NOT WELL CLEAN, VERY OLD FURNITURES, THE APT IS ON THE 16TH FLOOR BUT THE ELEVATOR DON`T STOP ON THE 16TH, SO YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE 15TH OR 17TH FLOOR. ALSO THE AIR CONDITIONER IS MAKING NOISE,VERY OLD BUILDING THE MAINTENANCE IS SO SO, VERY NICE VIEW FROM APT, CLOSE TO THE BEACH

Hi Jack, I am so sorry to heard you are disappointed! I just get back from Cartagena myself. I personally take care of all the details, I expent one week fixing things around- we have hot water now, when you get there the electricity was low causing trouble to get hot water to the new equipment , but now is working- also we paint some small areas where the paint was out so we fix this too.regarding the elevator, still going to the 15th. or 17th floor - you only have to walk 1 floor - the second elevator going to the 16th. floor is going to be in service very soon!

AMAZING STAY!

Sonia was so helpful and such a lifesaver. I had reserved this apartment for 3 of my friends and they loved it. Long story short I ended up having to stay a few extra days and needed a place to stay ASAP and Sonia helped me out. The apartment is in a Perfect location in Bocagrande, less than a block from the beach. It is surrounded by Hotels, Stores, restaurants, internet and calling cabins, banks, supermarkets.. everything is walking distance. It is a short cab ride away to the walled city that can run about 3 to 5 USD.. This apartment is beautiful and cozy, amazing view of the beach and walled city. It has 2 spacious bedroom both with bathrooms along with a nice living area and kitchen. Perfect location, perfect price and great service. I felt super safe as did my friends who stayed the weekend before... WE ABSOLUTLEY LOVED OUR STAY AND YOU WILL TOO!! Ps. Try Crepes and Waffles and EL Gran Pan DEBONO that is across the street.. yuuumy!

A cheery and charming modern condo~ In heart of Bocagrande ~amazing value

I was impressed with the modern, comfortable charm of this 2-bedroom - completely renovated with nice clean bathrooms and cute kitchen where I had my morning coffee overlooking the view of the water! I found the place sunny and cheery - definitely bigger than my NYC apartment :) And I was able to stay nice and cool in the air conditioned bedroom. The owner is Colombian, living in the US, and is so nice and great. You will feel like a true local here (different than staying in tourist-y Old City). It is a high-rise building with families and when I was there, a European tourist couple stayed next door. They spoke Spanish (I speak very very little) and I think that would be a plus if you did. It is in the heart of Bocagrande - it's like the downtown, with stores, etc. I would go buy breakfast, drinks and fruit (amazing fruit there) at the grocery store a few blocks away. I would also recommend the hotel restaurant right around the block for a delicious beachfront dinner (at sunset is gorgeous!) and the hotel also organizes city tours you can join as well. There are lots of taxis in Bocagrande and it's a very short and easy ride to Old City. I could walk around by myself and felt safe - as with any city, you should be on your guard but I never had a problem. People are friendly. I have recommended to several friends now Cartagena as a vacation spot and they ALL come back LOVING it. Take a boat out to Rosario islands - the best beaches! I ate fresh lobsters from the ocean! They have great nightlife of bars and dancing spots -and the charming squares in Old town are great for people watching, relaxing and drinking rum or cold cervezas. The trip to the Fortress is mandatory! There was a wedding or event being set up there when I went – now that would be an amazing party! It can be very romantic too, with cobblestone streets, talking a walk on top of the fortress walls at night...aah memories.- I took a horse ride around town as well. Tourist-y, but fun!

Last November I brought a group of 8 friends from the US & Europe and we had a great time in Cartagena. We had a great time partying in the Old City, tanning on the beach, boating around the Rosario Islands, and touring Las Murallas!

I can recommend Cafe del Mar restaurant and Casa de la cerveza lounge for their breath taking view, Quiebra Canto to listen old salsa and passing by the Santa Clara hotel, (Thursdays to Sat.) they have fantastic tropical life bands at the bar.

My friends had a wonderful time in Cartagena that I'm sure they'll never forget.
