We had a great stay in the heart of Phoenicia. It’s so convenient to walk to Main Street for great food and shopping, or drive to other nearby hamlets like Woodstock and Tannersville. It’s also a wonderful place to chill inside or out. We had so much fun perusing the albums and just enjoying the cool throw back vibes inside. Jay is a great host.

We had a fantastic stay in Phoencia in Jay's cozy little house. Great location--we walked down and got pizza at Brios at the end of a long day and it was perfect. Jay was a super helpful host, the house was charming, and who can say no to playing vintage LPs and eating candy? Thanks so much!

An outstanding Catskills getaway that is easily accessible. Located close to many of the top attractions: Woodstock, Overlook Mountain House, Hunter Mountain, mountain hikes, skiing and outdoor activities.The mid-century modern decor is great. Turntable and record collection was well appreciated. Sit in the back yard with a view of the mountains. Overall a comfy place and a great stay.

Super clean, great decor, and great location!

We had a great stay with Jay. The home is just lovely, and decorated in a mid-century style that reflects a lot of thought and effort. The location is great - close to hiking, skiing and town amenities. We ate at Brios, and enjoyed the food, drink and service.

Great location!

The house is so beautiful and clean! It is in such a great location. My husband and I had the perfect stay in Phoenicia. The property owner is super nice. Highly recommend! Definitely going back!

Perfect little getaway

Loved being able to walk into Phoenicia for food, drinks, firewood, and ice cream. Ended both nights with a fire followed by some vinyl.

Fantastic house centrally located in Phoenicia but, still nice and quiet. Great music vibe to the house which got us revved up for our concert at Bearsville theater Friday night. Loved that we were able to walk to Brio's, supermarket, and even to mass at St. Francis de Salle. We hiked Romer Mountain which is located on Lane Street a mile walk from the house and the Tan Bark Trail which is around the corner. Had a great time, will definitely be back.

Cozy winter weekend

Great stay at this cozy home with super comfy beds. Loved the downstairs decor. Location within walking distance to Main Street. Jay was super responsive and checked in with us to be sure all was okay!

The house was terrific! Clean and well set up for our family of 3 and our pup. Jay made everything so easy for us, we were close to skiing and downtown. We’d definitely stay again! Thanks, Jay!

Great stay near skiing

My family stayed here over MLK weekend to do some skiing at nearby Belleayre Mt. The house was great - clean, as advertised, and with some nice touches like a record player and tons of records. It's right next to town with some restaurants nearby and a small grocery store. The owner even offered early morning snow removal to make sure we could get out to ski. Hopefully we can book again for a weekend next year.

Catskills Chart Topper

We loved our stay in Phoenicia. The location was perfect for side trips to Bethel, Roscoe, Woodstock, Kingston and Poughkeepsie. The decor tops the charts with the mid-century decor, record collection and location. The bouquet of fresh local flowers and the wood, fire pit and fixings to make s’mores made this location No. 1 on our charts.

Heart of it all

Phonecia is a great town for local shops, good food and hiking. People are kind and friendly. So, Jay’s place is a wonderful place to stay. From the amazing sound system and vinyl records to the thoughtful touches. He made sure everything was ready for our arrival. Plus, we could easily walk to town or nearby hiking trails. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Home With A Personal Touch

Jay's home was wonderful! Simple and cozy. You can tell there was real love and care put into the space, and not just filled with the cheapest home goods one can buy from amazon. Tons of great records to dig through and put on, as you relax. Phoenicia and the Catskill mountains were beautiful. Thank you for a perfect stay, Jay!

We hadn’t stayed in the Catskills before, the cabin has some great pics on Expedia and it definitely was all that and more. Super communication from the host and very accomodating for our last minute request. The beds were very comfortable and there has been a lot of thought go into the set up of the house. It’s not a big house and you wont find any gold plated tap ware but it has everything you need and a great old record collection to boot. We will always fondly remember our time here and totally recommend staying at least a few days.

Highly recommended - Great location and accommodations

Check-in was simple and check-out was easier than most vrbo's. The mattress was fantastic and better than my own bed at home. Same with pillows. the home was spacious - enough room for me to do yoga in the living room. Short drive to Belleayre. We ate all our meals walking distance from the rental. Brios was great. Even though they are a pizzeria, the rest of their menu was excellent. We also walked to the Phoenicia steakhouse was excellent as well. I would stay here again.

Fun house in a fun little town!

The house is clean and well-equipped (and, given the heat on the weekend we visited, we appreciated the combo of air conditioner and fans that kept things comfy inside!) It's got a funky, retro vibe, big bedrooms, good kitchen, comfortable living area, and a great little backyard to cook out or relax in. The two-minute walk to town made it easy to be part of things, and Phoenicia is (like the house!) a throw-back in time and a lot of fun! Thank you Jay for a great stay!

Phoenicia’s Finest 🏡🛋️⛰️

This home was everything we could’ve needed, and then some. The location was perfect and every detail was thought of. I would easily consider this place my new home away from home. It was a delightful retreat from the city with a luscious private lawn, curated vinyl collection, and the most comfortable beds! Aside from the perfect house, Phonecia and the surrounding areas are stunning. I can’t wait to be back. Jay is a superb host! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great find in Phoenicia!

This house checked off all the boxes of what we wanted in a rental plus an added bonus! The beds were super comfortable, water pressure/ temperature in shower was perfect and location spot on within walking distance of the cutest town but still tucked away a bit from any street noise. The added bonus was the record player and decor of the house. Such great vibes! Took me back to my teenage years with putting the needle on the record and the sound was soooo good!! It was so fun coming back to the house after a day of exploring the Catskills where we could listen to cool tunes while enjoying yummy Brio's takeout dinner and desserts. The scenery of the nearby Esopus Creek is beautiful too! Thank you for the enjoyable experience!

Great weekend break!

We recently stayed at Jay’s place in Phoenicia for a long weekend break. The house is in a very quiet and peaceful location, but just a few minutes walk to Main Street. The house is as described - very cool interior and we enjoyed using the record deck. We cooked most of our meals there and used the grill, which was a great feature. The garden is really large and it was fun to light the fire pit and make s’mores! We had our small dog with us as she loved the space and the peace and quiet. Jay was a responsive host and the whole process was very straightforward. Would highly recommend to others!

What a fantastic place! Fun, convenient, and beautiful

What a wonderful stay we had! The place itself was perfectly located, a 3 minute walk to the Phoenicia main strip (very charming), with stores and restaurants, etc. The house was great, with a wonderful yard, great space inside, and a ton of charming (and cool) touches. The phonograph, complete with great speakers, and hundreds of albums really was a highlight. The kids are already begging my wife and I to get one. The furniture, the lighting, the whole place had the perfect “cool retro” look, and was clearly well thought out by someone with a great sense of design and fun. Jay was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish, helping ensure that the stay would be perfect. And it was. We’d stay there again in a heartbeat!

The heart of Phoenicia Sept.18-20

Well restored old house with antique themes. Host Jay was professional and prompt. Everything worked well. However, there is no dishwasher, so we had to wash dishes multiple times a day. There is a clothes washer we didn't need. Narrow driveway and difficult to get in or out of car due to brushes. Please clean it up.
