Selve hjemmet er en ideel blanding af form og funktion. Indtast på lavere niveau, som indeholder alle 3 af soveværelserne. To soveværelser, et med en dronning og et med en Twin plus et sæt Twin køjesenge, deler et gæstebadeværelse i hallen. Den rigelige King soveværelse har et walk-in closet, en-suite badeværelse komplet med boblebad og separat bruser og glasdør fører til baghaven.
Ovenpå, nyde det ��bne store værelse med køkken, spiseplads (bord pladser 8), og stue med stor sofa, brændeovn og halv badeværelse. Franske døre fører til et hyggeligt og veludstyret alrum med spillebord, våde bar, fladskærms-tv og gas pejs. For større grupper (maksimal belægning er 9), tilbyder familierummet også en overdådig dronning sovesofa og et komplet badeværelse.
Lige ud af stueetagen ovenpå, et rummeligt dæk med gasgrill (sommer) og bord til udendørs spisning med udsigt over den rolige eng bag huset. På det lavere niveau venter et luksuriøst boblebad. Ping Pong-bord til gæstebrug også
Samfundet kendt som The Highlands ligger kun to miles øst for centrum af Tahoe City. Dette rolige beboelsesområde byder på en fredfyldt omgivelser og smuk udsigt over eden, men er kun fem minutters kørsel fra de mange spisesteder, shopping og rekreative muligheder i Tahoe City.
Skylandia State Park og Beach ligger kun en kilometer fra bunden af Highlands-kvarteret. Sandstranden har en mole og et svømmeområde. Selvom stranden selv ikke er kæledyrsvenlig, er hunde velkommen i parkområdet. Skylandia Park tilbyder grill og picnic områder, vandre- og cykelstier og en smuk udsigt over søen.
I skisesæsonen er det kun 15-20 minutter til Squaw Valley og Alpine Meadows, to af de førende Tahoe skiområder. En enkelt liftbillet giver adgang til begge resorts, og Squaw / Alpine Express tilbyder mellem bjergtransport hver 20-30 minutter. Fem andre fantastiske North Tahoe skiområder er også i nærheden.

Family Friendly Escape!

Great home for a family gathering.

Our family had a great experience atvthis property. The upstairs is very roomy and accommodating for large groups and there was space for everyone to find a spot to settle in.

Love this place!

The photos did not do this property justice, it was great! The house was huge, and there were 4 adults, 2 kids, and two dogs. The backyard was big enough for all of us to build a hill to sled down, so we didn't need to go out anywhere, but the location was still close to everything. The house was clean and had large windows out to the back yard which was an added bonus. We can't wait to go back.

Clean, comfortable, quiet and spacious

The house was as described and perfect for our group. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, and spacious. The kitchen was well appointed and we cooked several meals. Overall, the house had everything we needed and was conveniently located to downtown Tahoe City. Like most houses in the area, there is no central AC, but that was not an issue due to the cool nights and abundant fans. Even with above average temps, we were cool and comfortable. Communication with Hauserman Rental Group staff was excellent prior to and during our stay. We didn't have any issues during stay which resulted in a need to contact them, but I am confident we would have had an immediate response. We would definitely stay again.

Spacious House and Great Location

We stayed at this house in the summer, and found it enjoyable. The location is great, and near bike and walking trails. It is close enough to Tahoe City to pop in and get what you need, but far enough away to be in a relaxing and quiet neighborhood. The house is well stocked with cooking gear (although a little beat-up, as you'd expect from a Tahoe rental). Good grill outside, and a large kitchen for preparing meals for everyone without bumping into each other the whole time. Lots of space in the house for relaxing and hanging out, especially in the TV area with couches, a table, and bar space. All three bedrooms are downstairs and close to each other, and the "kids room" is good for families that need enough beds. The management group was very responsive to messages, and check-in/out process was straightforward.

Great stay for skiing palisades

Had a great time with friends and skiing tahoe, we weren’t into the cross country skiing but it is right outside the back door and enjoyed watching all the people. Everything in the house worked well and the open space upstairs provided the perfect place to entertain and enjoy everyone’s company. Only thing I would suggest is adding an extra key for the house. We only had one and was tough at times when the group wanted to do different things.

Great views from the deck

Overall this is a lovely property. All of the bedrooms are downstairs and stay relatively cool, although there is a bit of a basement feel to the downstairs. For us, the best part of the house was the view from the upstairs deck and spending time on the deck in the mornings and evenings when it was cool. While the back yard is somewhat fenced in, the fence doesn't come all the way to the side of the house, so there is no way to let your dog out in the back yard and know that she can't just walk around the side of the house to the street. That was disappointing. Also, the house was advertised as having a dishwasher and when we arrived a sign on the dishwasher said it was out of service. Handwashing piles of dishes every day while on vacation, when I am used to having a dishwasher at home, was a BIG bummer. Parts of the house have been updated and parts haven't, (i.e. no baseboards and painting needed, carpet in bathrooms), but again, overall, it was a lovely home, and the management company was very friendly all along the way. Also a nice quiet neighborhood and when in the backyard, you can't really see any nearby neighbors. I would stay here again, after making sure the dishwasher worked. :)

Reviewer Comments: This was my first visit to Tahoe and some of it was wonderful but other aspects were disappointing.Sand Harbor beach was crowded and dogs are not allowed so to access the lake we had to hike to Chimney Rock and further to Whale beach but each place was beautiful and few people due to the hikes. Beaches with easy access do not allow dogs which is disappointing but due to negligent owners it is understandable.The Highlands neighborhood is wonderful, long time friendly residents and excellent trail access through woods and paved roads. All dogs in the woods were off leash with attentive owners and all were friendly. Great hikes.Gas prices are unreasonably high, over $6.00 per gallon and lakeside restaurant entrees are $50.00 and none allow dogs on the outside patio areas.The best part of Tahoe is getting out hiking and exploring, the woods, the lake, the skies and stars are breathtaking and cost nothing to enjoy.

Second Stay, Perfect for us!

We love this house for its location (best hiking trails, 4 minutes to dog beach, 10 minutes to Truckee River) and size. It’s comfortable and great for kids. We appreciated the new fridge this time (might be time to update the other appliances and some kitchen accessories, but we made do). Hausserman was responsive with a leaky dishwasher and overflowing bear trash can. Thank you and we’ll see you next year!

The sleeping accommodations are better for a smaller group, including young kids, but not great for our group that included young adults in their 20's. The room with the twin beds is super small and the sleeper sofa is off the kitchen so there's no privacy. We also felt that the beds could be made a bit more comfortable. But everything else about this home is fantastic and I would highly recommend it for the right groups!

Trails!

Was looking to hike right outside my door with my dog and you couldn’t beat this cross country ski/bike/hike location. Plenty of room, wonderful deck, hot tub and ping pong. I (wish I) could live here during the hot east Bay Area summers

Summer getaway

Thr trailside escape was the perfect location for our family vacation and first time enjoying Lake Tahoe in the summertime. It was a cozy home that provided all the space we needed to relax, gather, eat, play and rest. Definitely took advantage of the deck and bbq to cool down and cook meals, the dining table sat our group comfortably, and the game room is stocked with movies and games. Great location, easy access to the city for groceries and drive out to the beaches.

Retro, Spacious, Great Location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We traveled to Trailside Escape In June 2022. We had 4 adults and 2 children. The property was the perfect size for us and in a great location. We loved sitting on the back deck and watching people hike and mountain bike through the meadow. The house itself is outdated but mostly clean and decently maintained. The games in the family room were a hit with my kids, plus the TVs had DirectTV, Smart TV and a DVD player. The house gets a musky smell when closed up but with doors and windows open, is lovely.We reported some minor maintenance/cleaning/supply issues to the rental company and they said they would resolve (light bulb replacement, spiderwebs on ceiling, slimy hot tub, dirty carpets, lack of typical spices, etc.). The rental company was easy to deal with and check in/check out were a breeze.Overall, the house could use a bit of updating, but it was comfortable, spacious, and everything worked as described. My youngest cried for about an hour when we left because he wanted to “go back to the cabin!” Needless to say, we may be returning next summer. And you can’t beat the location if you like to hike!

It was a chilly weekend, so we got to utilize the fireplace. We do wish that it had a fresh sponge there, or a washcloth to wipe things down. We would have also like to have paper towels. A winter wonderland!

We stayed over the 2021 Christmas Holiday which brought exceptional snow to the area. The house was warm and cozy when we got there with plenty of room for everyone. It's a short drive to get supplies in Tahoe City. The management company was very understanding and cooperative when the whole region got snowed in and made the slight extension to our vacation easy. Next time I'll pack snowshoes as there's a XC/snowshoe trail literally right in the backyard. The kitchen is roomy and was equipped well enough to cook Christmas dinner for 5.

Terrific Tahoe Retreat

We were there for memorial and needed a place that would offer space, sanctuary, and solitude - but that would accommodate family coming from different states and so location would have to be close to where we would all gather at memorial (at Commons Beach). This home was perfect. You are in a neighborhood close to main stuff and minutes from beach, but it feels like you are isolated from touristy part of town and neighborhood is so quiet. We especially appreciated private driveway and garage. LOVED coming in from travel to a CLEAN, WELL-CARED FOR home. Fantastic & spotless kitchen layout, though cupboards & drawers could use some organization of pots & pans and utensils. Nevertheless, there was definitely everything needed to prepare meals, just had to dig around a bit. Also, everything you need to come in and get started on your Tahoe time - clear instructions for everything, starter stuff for bathrooms, laundry, home entertainment. On the spot communication from property management, everything is done to make it easy for you. You absolutely will love this place - we were just all so sad due to the circumstances that we could not make use of everything offered. But when we return to Tahoe, we are only staying here. Five stars everything.
