Casa Zadro er et afsondret ophold ved havet i det tropiske paradis nær Puerto Vallarta. Nyd pukkelhval, fugletitting og panoramaudsigt over solnedgange i havet.
Værelserne på Casa Zadro er unikke og eksotiske og bygger på lokal arkitektur og lokale materialer. Casa Zadro er et selvstændigt hjem udstyret med et komplet køkken, grill, grill i åben stil og havudsigt lige fra sengen. Vi har en splinterny hems med en fuld størrelse seng.
Vi er en kort tur væk fra Chimo, en lille fiskerby med 2 fantastiske restauranter, der er åbne hver dag hele året.
Perfekt tilflugtssted til helt at dekomprimere og nyde naturen. Selvom vi er afsondret, regner vi med Wi-Fi.

    We absolutely loved our stay ay Casa Zadro in Los Chonchos. It was an incredible week of relaxing, hiking, beaching and swimming. We loved watching the whales go by every morning. I had wished the telescope was there but the whales were still great The weather was perfect for us. The only bugs we had to deal with were a few kissing beetles each day. We felt incredibly welcomed by the people who live there...they made us feel like instant friends. Listening to the waves was like therapy. Being right on the ocean, the palapa was a little more weathered than in the pics but we had anticipated that. The only negative was the comfort of the bed. There were two but we only used the main level bed and it was too firm for us. All in all it was an amazing week and we hope we can return again!!! We hiked to Chimo and between the little Tienda and the local fisherman you can get just about any groceries you might run out of. If you are considering going and love peace and quiet....get it booked!

    So so good!

    This was our 2nd stay at Casa Zadro and we loved it every bit as much as the first time. Watching whales go by every evening was a highlight. We walked to Chimo for dinner at the Sunset restaurant - the food was Delicious! The beaches are perfect and the peace and quiet was just what we were looking for.

    Hi,I really recommend this beautiful place to anyone who wants something different to disconnect from the city.You have to be able to ride in a panga for about an hour or more, but don't worry, Arturo is one of the best captains around Chimo. The trick is getting in or out of the panga from the beach. Also, make sure you get groceries from PV before you leave for your palapa and also make sure you have some cash pesos on you. If Miguel is taking you there from the airport, he will take you to the most convenient grocery store and wait for you to take you to your ride in Boca. All of this is worth the effort once you get to El Choncho. Josafat and his family will be on the beach to help you get settled into your palapa and your simple living. The one thing that I wish was different was that the bed in the main bedroom was very stiff.But that could be fixed with a memory foam topper next time.Thank you, Tamara.We are praying for PV

    Great place to relax

    This was a great place to unwind after a running race in PV. The house itself was perfect, totally open-aired with great sunset view and set high on a hillside. The hike to Chimo was relaxing, and I think a pleasant surprise was the snorkeling gear, which let me see how much exotic sea life is just under the water's surface.

    Relaxing Palapa

    Tamara’s place is well outfitted with everything that you need to make your own meals. Hot water for showers, gas stove and the fridge worked great. We really enjoyed our 12 days here catching fish, relaxing on the beaches and just being unplugged. Moderately difficult 45minute hike to Chimo a small fishing community that has a small grocery store and two restaurants. We had lunch at Arturo’s and it was really tasty! We will come back again maybe next year to this paradise. Tamara is an awesome host and answered our questions quickly. Josefat and his family were so friendly and helpful.

    Indescribable, in the best way

    We’ve never loved a vacation more than this one. We were looking for a week away from the busy-ness of life and Los Chonchos provided! We loved the beaches, hikes to Chimo, whale watching from the deck, star gazing,, sleeping to the sound of the ocean, the jungle, the water taxi rides, all of it! We weren’t able to get off the water taxi in Los Chonchos which made us a little nervous but it all worked out with the help of Daniel and a burro. We loved Chimo too - such kind people. Casa Zadro was even better than described! Be sure to take plenty of food , and pesos - (the burro cost 500 pesos, tip money, and you’ll want to get something to eat/drink in Chimo.) We loved it so much that we’re already figuring out when we can go back!

    Just what we needed

    This is a splendid place to unwind after staying near the noise and activity of PV. We had 2 nights and didn't want to leave. Nice weather in March provided warm day and good sleeping temps. Beds are comfortable (on firm side). Kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed. We caught our own fish from shore and cooked them. You can hike to the small fishing town to the south for supplies or have dinner at the Sunset. It seemed like about a 2 mile hike, steep at times. Note that for us, the water taxi goes only once per day, leaving Boca de Tomatlan at 9AM. And arrange for them to pick you up on your departure day so they know to go to Los Chonchos. Price is now 350 pesos per person each way, which was more than we expected, but totally worth it so that we could access this amazing place.

    Amazing...

    Similar to many of the other reviews, this is not for everyone, but for those it is, you never want to leave. I stayed 6-nights and truly felt as though I could live there. Few comments: - The Water Taxi from Boca: As previously reported it's called Al Nayli and has the words WATER TAXI written on the side. As of May 2023, the fee from Boca to Los Chonchos is 250 pesos/one way. If going all the way to Chimo, it's 300 pesos/one way and THEN another 30 pesos/one way for the little row boat to row you to shore from the Water Taxi. - Hike from Los Chonchos to Chimo: It's a tough hike. I'm fit, in my 40's and I had to stop multiple times to take a breather. Some tips - bring or fashion a hiking stick/pole, it's a must have, as the the up hill sections can be a bit dirt slick. Bring water and a back-pack to pick up supplies. 100% stop at Arturo's!! Arturo, Louisa, and their daughter Ulya (Julia) are so friendly the food is delicious. The largest store is just up the road from Arturo's. Casa Zadro: It is just as the pictures depict. As you're looking at the beach where the taxi drops you, Casa Zadro is to the left, and juts out further than any other palapas, which is super nice. There is a fridge/freezer, no ice, but does have the plastic reusable cubes of ice (not very cold, but better than nothing). Josefat, who will meet you when you arrive is happy to bring ice to you (tip well, he's walking it from Chimo) if you forget to pick some up, you won't get it till the following day. I used the stove to make meals, worked great. Spice wise, there is a lot of salt, but I'd plan to bring any other spices you might want. Similar to others, def stop in PV to get your food/drink supplies. Meat is not as easy to come buy especially in Boca and Chimo, you can fish off the beach and catch fish daily, but if you want beef/chicken/pork you're going to need to bring it with, along with veg, fruit, and all drinks (beer, alcohol, mixers, etc...). ATM: The closest ATM is by local bus (10 pesos) and is the next town down from Boca called Mismaloya. The bus runs every 20 mins and is super easy to use. Take it there and take it back, then hang in Boca till the afternoon Water Taxi will take you back to Los Chonchos/Chimo at 1500pm. Land Crabs - who knew, I didn't...lol, they are EVERYWHERE, they won't bother you, but they can get into your palapa, so if you hear scratching at night, know's it's them. Have fun and enjoy!! I know I did!

    Winter Mexican getaway !

    Our third time in Chonchos! Always a fantastic getaway and change of life style! Love being so close to the ocean and such seclusion!

    Perfect retreat for nature lovers

    Fantastic palapa: beautiful, clean, well equipped. Owner and staff on site are friendly and helpful. Wonderful location and view of the ocean! Chonchos is perfect for those looking to get away to a quiet, simple place in the jungle. It's an open air situation: great for those who are happy to experience wildlife (including bugs), weather, etc. If you need AC, shopping or nightlife, it's not what you're looking for! We are a family with teenagers and spent an active and relaxing week here, just swimming, hiking, reading, watching the waves, and marveling at the beautiful surroundings. Note to light sleepers: large waves crash on the rocks just below the palapa which can be quite loud!

    My review of the bungalow and general area.

    My new soon to be and I are were staying 10 days at Paradise Village followed by two days at this bungalow. What a mistake this has been. I should have stayed 10 days at the bungalow instead but I guess you live and learn. In the previous years before I had considered purchasing in this area but failed to do so. This bungalow really makes me regret this. We had such a wonderful time. It truly was a once in a lifetime event that we will soon do our best to repeat. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience.

One of our absolute favorite things to do is relax and enjoy the most spectacular ocean views, where you can even experience whale watching just a few feet away. At night, away from the city lights, the sky comes alive, and you can see every single star.
