The property is one where we have stayed multiple times. Our host is everything you would hope for: accessible, attentive and very capable of meeting needs if they arise. The property itself is very well kept, pleasant, nicely decorated and very near the Lake Michigan beach. We will continue to come back here.

This property is truly a gem. Our family of four — two young kids in tow — had an absolutely wonderful stay. The space itself is beautifully appointed, and the location couldn’t be better: steps from the beach and close to everything you’d want to explore. It strikes that perfect balance of comfort and convenience that’s so hard to find. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Shorewinds is a gem! Well-equipped kitchen, comfy and clean—so close to the beach, just down the path. Sunsets!Our host was great—provided complete information and very responsive. We spent a lot of time outdoors—the landscaping and patio areas are stunning. With a fantastic coffee/breakfast spot and dinner place within walking distance we were so content. Will return! Great for a couple or small family.

Had a wonderful few days here with 2 granddaughters who loved the beach! We traveled by train from Chicago to New Buffalo. Got along fine without a car, but it would have been handy at times. Feels very safe and peaceful. A short walk down a path to the beach, but no beach view from the property. Restaurants, local small grocery store and gelato all an easy walk. Had one gorgeous sunset on the beach!

We enjoyed hosting you and helping you with logistics of coming to Union Pier without a car. A exciting trip for you and the Grand children. So happy you got a stellar sunset which makes the efforts worthwhile. The cottage is on the lake shore and the home faces lakeshore road with views of the water once out our deeded garden gate at the side of home which leads you down our beachpath to the beach. No roads to cross and paces to the beach steps from the garden gate. Thank you for chosing Shorewinds Beach House.

The cottage was decorated beautifully. The host was available as needed. The kitchen had everything you would need. The cottage is within close proximetry to steps to the beach. We recommed breakfast at Oaks Eatery, coffee/donuts/bagels etc. Black Current Bakery, winery St Julian's, Timothy for fine dining, and Union Pier Social for lunch. Cranes Pie Pantry & Restaurant offers 4 flight pies to taste at reasonable price.

A clean, charming cottage full of local character. The host was incredibly welcoming, the amenities were thoughtful and complete, and the location—right along the path to the beach—couldn’t have been better. A fantastic stay all around. Highly recommended, will happily stay again.

Thank you for returning and being a part of the Shorewinds Cottage extended family. We love having our repeat guests use the beach house as a retreat and haven in the off-season. The little house is simple but has wonderful energy. One can feel the love and energy upon walking in the front door. Winters can be cruel but much friendlier upon walking into the clean, cozy cottage and lighting a fire in the fireplace . I like staying inside while Mother Nature has her way. I always know when the wind is from the North as I can hear it pounding on the beach from the kitchen window. It makes it all good and a favorite time at the Beach House. It goes unsaid that a Beach House is marvelous in the summer but the solitude of winter waterfront is magical. Thank you for experiencing this during your Winter stay. Best Regards, Joan

Delightful cottage

We absolutely loved our stay! The cottage was very nicely decorated and clean. The location is perfect if you’re looking for beach-time. Communication was a breeze, and the property is exactly as stated in the listing. Would 100% stay there again!
