Hyggeligt to værelses sommerhus i hvisken Pines beliggende på mølledammen med privat strand, pool (åben gennem Labor Day) og tennisbane. Et fuldt udstyret køkken, hyggelig stue (med ekstra sovesofa) og afslappende solrum til at nyde solnedgangen efter en travl dag på Easthams fantastiske strande. To soveværelser består af en dobbelt og to enkeltsenge, et badeværelse med bruser / badekombination og ekstra udendørs bruser. The Whispering Pines Association har vaskemaskine / tørretumbler. Ingen kæledyr tilladt.

A sweet place in a lovely community. It's got the basics, and is very charming in a funky way. This has been my third stay. But now it needs upgrading for the the price I payed, especially kitchen appliances and doors/ windows. The hosts are responsive, so I hope they put some effort into making improvements. There's enough room for a small family, and very nice to have beach equipment available.

Family friendly spot very close to many activities. Enjoyed the pool, House was fine. The broken screen door that was never addressed during our stay was disappointing. Some nights were very warm and we were unable to enjoy ocean breezes because bugs entered through broken screen. Only bathroom is very old, and some basic amenities like a corkscrew was missing and had to be purchased. Also having to bring linens was a first for me. Somewhat inconvenient, and made for a lot more packing. Week was enjoyable for most part.

Quiet and conveniently located cottage

We stayed for a week at this cottage in Eastham. The location is minutes away from restaurants, beaches and other activities and is a short ride from other surrounding Cape towns. The host is super kind and communicative.

Whispering Pines

Comfortable home. Loved swimming and kayaking in the nearby pond. Owner was helpful in answering our questions.

Cute cottage

We had a great time and enjoyed the cottage. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. Weather was in the 70s so the fans were plenty. The porch is where we spent most of our time and we enjoyed the lake, tennis courts and pool. The cottage was close to restaurants and beaches . We would come back again.

Annual Family Cape trip

This was our first year renting from strangers; we had been staying at a family friend’s house in years prior, so we were nervous but it ended up being a great cottage! Perfect for a family of 4, with two young boys who loved the pool, pond and playground on premise! Did not leave the grounds our first day! Quiet, rustic, friendly neighborhood and centrally located to all the beaches both bay and ocean side! Laundry on prem too which made it easy for mommy too! We look forward to going back next year!

First family vacation

We really enjoyed our stay at Whispering Pines. The location is perfect. The development is tucked away off route 6 and having access to the pool and pond were a welcome break from the busy beaches with our one year old. We ended up spending more time in the cottage than anticipated due to our daughter’s nap schedule. 🙃 The cottage itself was clean but not well stocked. We missed the memo to bring our own linens so had to run out the night we arrived and also had to buy our own toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags. The bathroom could really use the update the rest of the house received. The hosts were gracious enough to supply us with a high chair for our daughter and there were even a few toys for her to play with. We loved eating breakfast on the back porch. All in all the trip was a success and we would stay here again in the future.

NO HOT WATER DUE TO OWNERS NEGLECT ......

I cannot recommend this property for a vacation based on the events that occurred during the past week on our stay there. The owner lives in Boston ( almost 2 hours away ) and due to their lack of knowledge on what general upkeep and maintenance on what needs to be done on the property resulted in 4 adults not having hot water for almost 4 days. We arrived on a Thursday and due to our long drive fell asleep that night and was unaware that there was no hot water available. Heading out to the beach on Friday we all came back to take showers and the water was tepid at best......we were just glad to take showers. However when we went to take showers after the beach on Saturday the water was cold and we knew there was a problem. We ran the water again on Sunday and it was cold and we called the owner. There were 5 text messages between us and the owner outlining the issue of not having hot water and how can the problem can get fixed as quickly as possible. As it turned out, there was NO propane left in the propane tank to heat the hot water tank. The propane company finally arrived to fill the tank early Monday afternoon but then the tank had to be inspected by a HVAC technician prior to any use due to the explosion - fire potential. The tank had to be filled and get heated so it wasn't until Tuesday morning that we finally had hot water and we were scheduled to leave the next day. This could have been prevented if the owner took more care of the property.

Hi Barb - I find this review disappointing, considering how responsive we were to every question you had about restaurants, beaches, amenities, and the cottage in the months leading up to your stay. I though we had a nice rapport going. Yes, there was an issue with the hot water, which we apologized profusely for. From the time you alerted us to the time it was fixed was less than 36 hours. We understand your frustration, took full responsibility, and offered you fair compensation. You opted to dispute the entire stay on your credit card instead.

The cottage has the potential to be really nice, but it has fallen into disrepair. The front screen door was hanging crooked off the hinges, the paint is chipping on all window trim, wood is rotting, and the cottage is covered with algae, moss and mold on the shingles and roof. There is no exterior lighting, screen door bolt stuck, windows have to be propped open with bricks. The beds were very uncomfortable and all of the furniture and lamps were ancient. The fans provided were in terrible condition and filthy. There were hazards like the lack of lighting outside and a broken chair. The owner was responsive when I called and said there was no dish soap, trash bags and toilet paper and paper towels, and they had the cleaner drop off. The bathroom sink was clogged and they dropped of Drano. They refunded us for one night for our trouble, but the responsiveness of the owner did not make up for the overall condition of the cottage. The smoke/CO2 alarm went off but there was no fire. We came from Virginia and St. Louis and were extremely disappointed from the moment we drove up; the outside of the cottage was dilapidated. There were also a lot of little things that were broken like ice trays, the toilet seat, and the silverware cup on the dish drainer that were inconvenient. I am writing a review to warn others that the cottage is in terrible condition and overpriced. The entrance to the complex is only on to rt 6, which is very busy. I have pictures to back this up.

Great place to stay

The cottage was clean, roomy, and in a great location. The neighborhood was quiet and attractive, and Eastham was convenient to everything we wanted to do. The hosts provide almost everything you would need (including things we never would have thought we might need!). One small note--if you plan to do any "real" cooking, bring your own knives and cutting board. I completely understand why a host wouldn't want to leave good knives where they could easily walk away, and probably most people on vacation eat out a lot more than we do.

Lovely little cottage in the heart of Eastham!

This was a lovely property for our family. We enjoyed the three season porch each morning and evening. The pool on property was a nice option at the end of a long hot day. We enjoyed the easy drive to several bay and ocean beaches, as well as great restaurants and Hole in One donuts for breakfast. The grill on property gave us the option to cook dinners. The lake was nice to sit by each morning but not ideal for swimming. If you bring your own kayak and fishing line you can enjoy it. Overall we loved our stay. I'm sure that you will too.

Perfect week on the Cape

We had a wonderful week at Whispering Pines. The place was perfect. My grandchild loved the pool, the pond and the hawks were a plus! The porch was great and we spent a lot of time there. The hammock was a great place to knit on those lazy afternoons. There were tons of things to do right nearby!

Real Cape cabin

I love staying in a place that feels like true Cape. The pond access and a pool make this an awfully attractive situation.

Good location, quiet, and plenty of space

We stayed here for a week in August and it was really lovely. The cottage has been updated with fresh paint and flooring since the photos were taken and overall it gave it a fresh contemporary feel. Not mentioned in the listing is a non-enclosed outdoor shower which is great for rinsing off the salt and sand before going into the inside shower. It was H-O-T (it was August after all) and the fans were a bit minimal but we did stay cool enough. Quiet neighbors and no problems. Stacie was quick to respond to my questions and I enjoyed the stay!

The cottage is nice size for a young family.

Renting the property was quick and easy. The owner is pleasant and quick to respond to questions and needs. The owner provided the linens. The cottage is nice for a young family of four adults. The kitchen is tiny and cooking large meals was challenging as there is little counter space and no place to store food other than the fridge. The cottage does not have AC. Most of the night were cool but a few were hot and the temperature inside was over 80 decrees. There were two fans. More fans would have helped cool the cottage. The pond was nice but the pool was out of commission. The grounds were fairly quiet at night but there were a few rowdies who hollered and yelled well past 1:00 am. I would stay again but if the price went higher I would look elsewhere. $2300 for the week. Overall, very nice, clean, easy access to Eastham beaches, shopping at Orleans and sunsets on the bayside.

Homey and comfortable

This was a very cozy, old- school type very comfortable cottage. While the cleanliness left something to be desired, it was private, quiet and great to come home to.

Great experience

My friends and I stayed here for our annual cape trip and had a great time. No complaints, the whole process was simple and easy. Lots of fans were provided which was essential for a hot summer week. The little neighborhood was very nice. I recommend this place to anyone.

Everything we needed, great spot

The cottage had everything we needed and was perfectly comfortable for us and our 13 year old. We loved the proximity to beaches, ocean and pond and loved biking for a swim nearby at Great Pond. Close to bike trail as well. Also near to the Wellfleet Drive In Movie Theater! So plenty to do, even with COVID restrictions. Getting out on Route 6 (especially to go left) was a bit nerve wracking, and definitely not bike-friendly but we stayed on the sidewalks and found lots of alternative routes once off Route 6.

Cape Cod National Seashore

Location is good, and this property is a true cottage; small with few amenities and no A/C and no privacy in the outdoor shower! The cape is humid and this cottage has rugs, which create a musty smell in the rooms. Therefore, the weekly rate is unreasonable.

Heidi - Sorry to read that your stay didn’t quite live up to your expectations. You’re right, it is a true cottage, just as advertised. We also state in the listing that there is no A/C, and clarified that with you when you asked before you arrived. We do have ceiling fans in each room, and provide an oscillating fan and window fans for those hot July days in Cape Cod. Our apologies about the pool closure, but that was really out of our control, due to COVID-19. We were upfront about that and notified you as soon as we found out about the restrictions ourselves. We hope you enjoyed the private beach at least! It is surprising to see the “musty” comment though, as we have had many people stay here, have the cottage professionally cleaned after each guest, and have never gotten that feedback. Aside from your above concerns, we truly hope you enjoyed your stay in our cottage and some beautiful sunshine down the Cape!

Quaint cottage

This cottage was a great rental. Although close to route 6, it is quiet and comfortable. The owners have it well appointed for 2 to 4 adults or for a couple with up to 4 children. It is close to the National seashore Nauset light and Coast guard beaches and Skaket beach. It is about a 30 minute drive to Herring Cove beach and Provincetown. The owners are very responsive and helpful.
