Diamond Head Vista is aptly named for breathtaking views

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed for 2 months in this conveniently located rental on the eastern edge of Waikiki. It is walking distance to dining, shopping and great beaches.We particularly enjoyed dining at Tiki's Lulu's, Dukes and Barefoot on the Beach.The condo was clean and well appointed. Beach towels,chairs, umbrella and a boogie board were provided.

We booked this property to celebrate our honeymoon, but our expectations unfortunately were not met. Upon arrival the first thing we noticed was that the unit was quite worn down. Not as advertised. Scuffed walls, peeling paint, dirt on walls, taped up section of window, boarded up wall section, and dishes were very used and could use replacing. The bathroom was also quite dirty, the shower tub needs a good scrub, can tell that no one spends time actually cleaning around the sink and toilet area. Furniture was worn out, the sofa had a horrible smell of body odor, and found trash in the cushions. The outdoor table had a previous guest's fake nail wedged into the crack.The outdoor chairs were also falling apart. There was construction going on so halfway through our stay there was no working elevator or water for the daytime. The rental company neglected to tell us this, let's see them walk up and down 19 flights of stairs multiple Times a day.No working water made working from home a nightmare.Had to run down 19 flights to the nearest public bathroom every time duty calls.Also, not expected but every single time we have visited Hawaii our rentals have provided a small welcome basket... even just some bottle water would have been nice after a long day of travel. The view and location were nice but it was a loud area so bring earplugs if sensitive to noise. This property has potential but seems no one cares to take much care of it since it's been a rental. Yay Honeymoon..not

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re very sorry the condo’s condition and cleanliness did not meet expectations, especially for such an important trip. The issues described are not the standard we aim to provide, and we have shared them with our management, housekeeping, and maintenance teams for follow-up. We were not advised in advance that the building work would require temporary elevator and water shutdowns, and the project has since been completed. While we’re glad you enjoyed the view and location, we sincerely regret that the overall experience was disappointing.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay, especially the great view. We really liked the lanai’s table and four chairs and used them all the time. Excellent storage! TV’s programming was a very nice bonus. We do have several suggestions:Kitchen and bathroom need a deep cleaning, the oven took 20 minutes to preheat and the digital pad’s numbers are not readable, the toilet is inefficient and backs up frequently and the tub drains very slowly, strongly suggest putting grab-bars in the tub as the shower is in the tub and gets very slippery, the mirrored, closet sliding doors in the bedroom, need to be adjusted and lubricated as they came off the track a lot, we know the bedroom is a small area, but a king size bed would certainly make a positive difference, it would help if there were more hanging hooks strategically placed in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen,

The property manager has repaired the sliding mirrored closet door and bath drains - thank you for bringing those items to our attention. We understand that bed size is a personal preference, and we are sorry you didn't find it as comfortable as you would like. Amazing location to stay while working.

Check in process was great! Working with the property manager, James was easy and he was very attentive. The unit was clean, the balcony view was the best in Waikiki. I enjoyed my stay while in Hawaii for work. I’m heading back to Honolulu for work and was upset this place was booked. I’d definitely stay again!

December 2021 Stay

We had a great time at diamond head vista! First 3 weeks with our son and family (with baby) and the last week with the two of us. It’s a practical, convenient place. The beds are fine and the view from the balcony is great! Morning coffee watching diamond head, hearing the monkeys in the zoo get fed and an occasional trumpet from the elephants. The sounds of Waikiki are quite loud. Day and night. We hadn’t expected the noise being so present. Traffic, police, ambulances.. probably because sound goes up! Once you get used to it it fades a little. Nevertheless we would stay again. The apartment has everything you need and more! The (dish)washer/dryer were very handy, two coffeemakers, beachchairs etc. The parking was super! The place is also very safe and secure with very nice managers that are friendly and of service. If you want to stay near Waikiki, be central, close to everything and have a great view over diamond head, the park and the ocean this is a great choice.
