Excellent small house by the ocean - three houses off boardwalk and very nice all the way around. Small - not built for tall people - but front porch and first floor deck are delightful. Very small grilling area off small kitchen. The location is outstanding and our rental was made super smooth by owner's reps who were wonderful and responsive. No issues which is always nice.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted that you enjoyed the outstanding location, the front porch and first-floor deck, and found the home to be a comfortable place to enjoy your time by the ocean. We appreciate your comments about the home’s size and layout—being a charming historic beach house, it does have some of the cozy proportions typical of its character. Historic homes in Ocean Grove tend to be different in size and layout when compared to homes in other beach towns. The Historic Preservation Commission heavily restricts changes and this is what has retained Ocean Grove's charm and beauty. It’s especially nice to hear that our representatives were responsive and helped make your rental experience smooth and worry-free. We truly appreciate your kind words and are so glad you had a great stay. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Ocean Grove again!

We had a wonderful stay. The property was so tastefully decorated with beautifully renovated bathrooms and kitchen. It’s just a block from the ocean, a short walk to charming Ocean Grove and lively Asbury park. We enjoyed sitting on both decks in the morning and at the end of the day. The hosts were lovely and the house was well- stocked with plates, glasses, pots and pans. And everything was spotless! We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The home was clean and exactly as described. Beach access was extremely convenient. Ocean Grove main street was very walkable, as was the Asbury Park boardwalk. The property manager was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to others looking for a family beach getaway.

We have rented vacation properties from the Adirondacks to Zimbabwe, and this was the best-equipped—and most thoughtfully equipped—of any of them. The house is lovely and well-designed and everything works—hot showers, boogie boards, great grill. But the best part was being able to get to the beach (with the provided beach passes) in a minute and to see the ocean from the upstairs porch. The owner and property manager were very responsive, but we didn’t really need to ask them for anything. The town is quiet, but we walked to restaurants in Asbury Park, and enjoyed the playground and old-fashioned arcade there. A great week for our family, aged two to eighty-one!

We are delighted to meet such a high bar from well travelled guests. For our home to be ranked amongst the best, makes us proud. Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the home and found it thoughtfully equipped with everything you needed for a relaxing family vacation. It’s gratifying to know that the beach passes, upstairs porch views, and easy access to the beach helped make your stay special. We’re also happy that the location gave your family the best of both worlds—a peaceful, quiet town while still being close enough to walk to Asbury Park and enjoy its restaurants, playground, and old-fashioned arcade. Hosting families ranging from two to eighty-one is exactly what we love about sharing our home, and we’re delighted that everyone had such a great week. Thank you again for choosing our home and for taking the time to share such kind and thoughtful feedback. We hope to welcome you back again!

Great Beach Lication

House was lovely and very near the beach. Only drawback for third floor guests was that they bumped their heads on the sloping ceilings in the third floor rooms.

Thank you for your review. We are happy that you loved the house and its location. The lower third floor bedroom ceilings happen to be common to the architecture of Ocean Grove homes - built in the 1890s. We hope you stay with us again.

A perfect stay on the shore

We were coming into town for our friends wedding and were looking for a play between Asbury Park and Belmar. This was the perfect location. Plenty of comfortable beds for our entire group and just a short walk to Asbury Park with wonderful restaurants and bars. We really enjoyed the ability to walk along the boardwalk. The hosts were very friendly and communicative. We had no issues and would definitely recommend to friends!

House just as advertised. Lovely interior, very comfortable beds. Everything worked well. Very quiet neighborhood. Close to Asbury Park. Only four houses away from the beach. You could see the ocean from the second floor balcony. We would definitely book here again.

Perfect getaway

We stayed at this beautiful home 2 weeks ago for 4 days. The property manager, Allacen Jennings, could not have made our stay any easier or more enjoyable. The house has a perfect location for all the local attractions. We walked to everything you could possibly need. Breakfast at Toast to all the bars/restaurants in Asbury Park are easily walkable. Main street in Ocean Grove is a must do. We are looking forward to our next stay at this Home.

Steps to Boardwalk and Beach, Awesome!

Comfortable right away, clean and fresh. The decor makes you feel that you are at the beach. Three updated bathrooms, comfortable beds and bedding, updated kitchen. I could go on but look at the pictures. It truly is steps to the Boardwalk and we loved that. It was nice to meet Allacen also, the propert manager, who will respond if you have any questions.

Magical Ocean Grove

We absolutely loved our stay in Ocean Grove at Nichols House. The house was clean and beautifully decorated, with lovely touches everywhere. The bedrooms were bright and spacious and the bathrooms all looked newly renovated and updated. The location could not be beat, with views of the ocean from both porches. Raj, the owner, and Allacen, the property manager, were very welcoming and attentive. 10/10! We will definitely be back.

Lovely Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great Memorial Day Weekend at the house. We had some issues with an upstairs air conditioner. The property manger and owner were on top of it and actually ended up buying a new one for us. The house was very clean and for an older home it has been updated beautifully.

Absolutely lovely

We were in need of a restful week and that's exactly what we got. This house is so sweet - as are the owners and property manager - and to be able to walk to the boardwalk with your morning coffee can't be beat! The kitchen had all the utensils and equipment we needed. The beds were comfortable and well made up, bathrooms were fantastic, with all the white fluffy towels you could ask for. We parked our car and didn't move it once - just walked and biked and hung out on the two porches and felt happy and relaxed. I can't thank Raj and Allacen enough for their responsive nature or their kindness.

A PERFECT place to stay at the Jersey shore!!

We just spent a week at this lovely Victorian-style house and already are thinking about going back next summer!! This delightful house is absolute perfection!! Just three houses from the beach on a quiet street filled with Victorian-style homes. It's beautifully decorated and filled with light. From the porches you can see and hear the ocean! The four bedrooms and three full baths gave our group of six lots of space and everything we needed. Downtown Ocean Grove, with shops and restaurants, is a short walk. Asbury Park, with its own beach, many restaurants, and lots of other activities, is a short walk up the boardwalk. Plenty of parking is available on the street. The kitchen has everything you need. The appliances are all modern, all your needed cooking supplies and utensils are there, and a grill is behind the house. The dining room table seats eight, so we had plenty of room. The beds are all very comfortable. The second floor bedrooms connect to a balcony/porch with a view of the ocean! The bathrooms are roomy; the showers are modern and large with great water pressure and temperature control (something many hotels can't provide!). The house comes with lots of "extras"--there are four beach badges to use, beach towels, chairs, and an umbrella. There is WIFI, and TVs are the living room and bedrooms. The owner, Raj, and property manager, Allacyn, are friendly and helpful! Thank you for a PERFECT week!!

A great off season weekend!

The house was beautiful and was in a lovely historic neighborhood. The victorian houses were beautiful! The house is steps away from the beach and is a short walk to Ocean Grove's Main St or to Asbury Park. The weekend turned out on the chilly side but we still a great stay! We stayed off season so it was very relaxing and quiet. But there were still things to do even if everything wasn't open yet.
