First-Time Vacation Rental Experience

Our family takes trips to Houston on a regular, but we’d always stay at hotels when we visit. This time we brought our dog along, instead of boarding him, so we opted for a pet-friendly rental home this time around. Casey was an AMAZING host and he and his team were available to answer any questions/requests we had with no problems. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the kids LOVED swimming in the pool everyday! The home is beautiful and very spacious, so we were always comfortable. The pool table and games were another highlight of our trip. Also, the location of the house/neighborhood is perfect if you love shopping and restaurants. We would 100% recommend this booking if you’re ever visiting in Houston, because you’re guaranteed to have a good time! We look forward to doing business with Casey again and truly thank him for his wonderful hospitality throughout our trip. We had a BLAST!

Great house for Family gatherings!

Great house with 7 bedrooms was able to accommodate my family, my sister’s family, my brother & my dad for my son’s wedding. Wish the weather would have been better so we could enjoy the pool & hot tub. Owner addressed the issue we had in a timely manner.

AMAZING HOUSE.....AMAZING HOST

I contacted Cassey with an emergency...the venue I planned to use fell through. He helped us with sooooo much before we even checked in. This property is simply AMAZING! Cassey and his team do an excellent job with the facilities and are extremely accessible. I would recommend you stop and stay. The whole experience was worth every penny. I'm coming back for my BIRTHDAY!!! I have to stay HERE AGAIN!!

Okay Property

We were there for a funeral so we had a large family there. The main shared bathroom downstairs does not have a door to the bedroom or the bathroom. There is a shower door for each entrance. Also you have no control of the temp in the house. We had to call every time we wanted to change the AC. No soap in a few places to wash hands but they did bring it over.

Great space for family but would not stay again

The space was great for nine adults, one 12 year old, and five kids under 5 - not a lot to knock over, plenty of room, and we loved having a large table where we could all eat. The place was clean, and the kitchen was fairly well-stocked with plenty of pantry space. Here are the things I wish I'd known before renting the property: 1. Be prepared for a multi-step check-in and checkout process, both complete with many digital details and the former accompanied by requiring you to send a copy of your driver's license and a phone call to talk through the details they request digitally - yet you still have to fill in the details digitally. This is more annoying than anything, just adding steps to a process you hope is simple but is instead onerous. 2. They warn you there are cameras - but know they are watching. I got multiple reminders to take out the trash; when I replied that we did, I was told they knew because they saw it from the camera. 3. They really need to upgrade all the mattresses and pillows. The mattresses are very hard, and the pillows are extremely thin. 4. The towels smelled like when your teenager stuffs a bunch of his laundry in the washer/dryer and then complains they don't smell good. My guess is that is exactly what happens at this house. The towels smelled not quite washed. 5. The powder room on the main floor is also a part of the second main floor bedroom - so whoever stays in that room has a bunch of people using their bathroom. That isn't so bad except there is a door from the powder room into a shower and from the shower into the bedroom. It can be awkward. 6. Speaking of that room, there isn't a closet or dresser or even hooks to hang towels. You really feel short-changed when you end up there.

Renting Experience during Covid-19 Pandemic

To begin, my review may have been different if COVID-19 didn't cause massive interruptions. But my review is reflective of my experience with the property owner. Please be careful who you rent from and be aware of the risk you are taking when renting homes and the possibility of losing out on money during unexpected times. I rented this property in Feb of 2020 so my family could come celebrate my graduation in May. As we are all aware, COVID-19 swept across the world and as of Mid-March many US States were under stay-at-home orders. By the time it was clear that travel in May would be difficult, it was past the 60 day cancellation window to receive a full refund from the home. VRBO's policy stated that they encouraged property owners to work with those who have already booked during these times to receive refunds or flexible date options. Casey (the property owner) was NOT flexible. Casey was 100% unwilling to consider a refund and would not allow flexible dates through VRBO. The only way Casey would be flexible would be to take our business with him off platform and to send money directly to him to hold the home (prior to receiving a refund from VRBO). As this option brought huge risk to my family we had to make the decision to cancel with no refund or to keep our dates and attempt to travel during the pandemic. My family made the decision to keep the home, a few family members drove, a few flew, and many couldn't join in at all not wanting to risk getting sick - including my grandparents who had helped cover the cost of the rental. Our family made the best decision we could given the circumstances, but it would have been safer for us all to have had the option to change dates, which is what we were asking Casey for. It was disheartening that Casey lacked the flexibility to work with my family during a world crisis outside of all of our control and he showed a lack of empathy. Because of this situation, I will NOT rent from Casey again, and though I don't intend to cause negative harm to him or his family, I think it is important to share our honest experience so that everyone is aware of the strict cancellation policy and the character of the home owners. With that being said, the house was large and had enough rooms and beds for the guests that stayed. The pool and hot tub were nice for the kids to play in. The maintenance manager was responsive. The wood floors in the house do cause noise to travel easily.

We love this place!

My friends and I stayed here 2 years ago and loved it so we decided to come again. It felt really good to be back and our stay was just as amazing. The listing looks intimidating at first when you read all the rules but it’s honestly not bad and their customer service is great! They checked up on is to make sure everything was going smoothly, they allowed us to check in early and check out late. There’s a fee associated but we didn’t mind. Last time we added the heated pool and jacuzzi option but because the weather was so hot we didn’t need it this time. We love this place and can’t wait to come back again!

Perfect for our golf group

Sleeping arrangements were great with seven bedrooms. Many rooms had multiple beds that we didn’t use/need. Pool / spa very relaxing. Great communication with owner/manager. Highly recommend.

Great stay

I came with 6 others for my 27th birthday ! We had the best time and even had a catered brunch with decor in the dining area it was amazing! All of the rooms have corresponding bathrooms there was ample space for all of us especially being woman who need to get ready! Definitely book!!!

Needs Work!!!!

I would have to say, that in all my years of traveling ,that this is by far the worst property that I’ve stayed at. There was 10-15 bags of trash outside when we arrived. You could barely touch the cocktail tables because of fear that they would fall down. The furniture was raggedy and had a huge sink hole in it. The kitchen sink was in prep condition. The pool needs work it was rusty and dirty. The upstairs sink was clogged up. One of the dryers didn’t work. There were ROACHES!!!!! And on check out day while removing the sheets there was a stain that looked like blood on the mattress!!!!! I wouldn’t recommend anyone stay here until the completely remodel. It’s definitely not worth the 6k that we paid to stay here with only a $300 deposit being refunded. I should be getting all of my money back just for staying here!

Wonderful place for family gatherings!

We had a wonderful time! The house is large and can accommodate a big gathering. Nice bedrooms and bathrooms. We enjoyed the pool, however, I would recommend updating the outdoor furniture. The host was very responsive and gracious to a minor few issues.

NOT HAPPY WITH THIS VACATION HOME OR OWNER!! KEEP LOOKING YOU CAN FIND BETTER!!

My family and I stayed at this vacation home last week for a family vacation. We paid a lot of money to stay here for 5 days and 4 nights. Upon arriving at the home we were not greeted by anyone. I was emailed a code to enter the home and that was that. My family and I did a walk through in the home and took pictures of broken items within the home. No one came at all for me to met them while we stayed there. Not even during checking out. We were a group of 26 people with about 10 towels to bathe us and a total of 6 toilet paper rolls to get us through 5 days and 4 nights on the property. Our first night there we were greeted with a possum that was living inside a whole under the living room sofa which was a nightmare to experience. My family had to take the possum out of the house. When I contacted the owner that morning around 6am to inform him of what was going on because it is very scary and nerve wrecking to find a possum in a home with women, children and babies. The owner told me to contact him during business hours and hung up on me then never followed up with me. I thought that was very rude of him and he didn't care at all since he received his money. We had multiple visits after that with raccoons coming in the back area and trying to come in the house. It was very scary because we are not use to possums and raccoons around us like that and no were in the description does it mention possums and raccoons come on the property often as they do. With the field in the back and a broken gate the animals come and go like they want. I also had to contact the property manager multiple times to turn on the hot tub which he didn't do right away. The house has no decent pots to cook out of with the exception of one multi cooker that was recently purchased. I asked before booking if the house had pots and a bbq grill and was told yes. The bbq grills they had outside was filthy and disgusting. The grills looked like they 10 years old and never cleaned since it was used 10 years ago. The pool was filthy when we arrived. We had to purchase pots, towels, toilet paper and trash bags for our stay there. After checking out I was emailed I was receiving a charge for a broken cigarette can and a broken lawn chair. Two items that was broken already upon arrival. Asked the manager to send me proof we broke items because there is a camera in the backyard. Never sent proof or my deposit yet! This place is not worth the stay or money!!! Keep looking please!!
