Great place for families

Really great place for families with younger children. The rooms have lots of space and beds for kids, as well as plenty of bathrooms.

Beautiful location with lovely private deck. Easy access to the ski hill and the town of Fernie. However, this home is in need of some TLC. We had issues with cleanliness (very dusty and clearly had been animals in the home), kitchen appliances need updating and some of the windows did not latch closed. If you are simply after the charm of a traditional log chalet, this home is perfect for a large group. Gorgeous fire place and plenty of space, but is lacking in the finer details expected for a rental in this price range.

Wonderful Chalet

This is the third time our family has stayed at this chalet. It is an excellent choice for winter and summer stays. The layout and location make it perfect for family gatherings with skiing, biking and hiking all close by.

Weekend Getaway

Worked perfectly for our family get together. We love the mountains and this place was gorgeous. A few little maintenance hiccups but overall great stay!

This chalet is stunning with space for everyone in a large group. We appreciated the amount of bedrooms with bathrooms for each, and a nice large kitchen and living room gathering space. We had a wonderful time here as a home base for our family reunion.

Family Reunion

The chalet was just perfect for our family get-together. We thoroughly enjoyed the spacious kitchen and outdoor decks and of course the BBQ! Many fond memories were made!

Group at Fernie

Very nice log cabin fairly close to the lifts. Host was great at communicating with us. Price a bit high for the area, but enough beds for 6 men without spouses. Common area was spacious with well stocked kitchen.

The house was great, there were a couple irritants for a rental of that price. A/C should be installed, way too hot in the summer. There is like no knife that cuts in the kitchen! The house is in need of a deep cleaning (dusty in some areas). Overall very good but not great, Misses the little things to make it outstanding.

Fernie Family Vacay!

We LOVED this place! So warm and inviting! Owner was super quick with her responses when we contacted her. Short little walk to the hill was icing on the cake! Have already put in request for rental for next ski season! Thanks for the great hospitality, Lana!

Such a perfect mountainside ski holiday!

Upon arriving to the Black Bear Chalet we were immediately impressed with its rustic,cozy charm. Bedroom accommodations were quite comfortable and well-kept, large kitchen was great for cooking meals, entertaining and the fireplace was a nice touch with plenty of good firewood. Our favourite part was the short walk to the ski hill and the hot tub nestled underneath the cedars apres ski. Lana was awesome to deal with and we would definitely recommend this property.

Amazing ski weekend

Great ski lodge! Cozy. 5 minute walk to the lifts/village. Only issue was not being able to control the hot tub temperature… it was too hot to use unfortunately. Everything else was great!

Good property.

Enjoyed our stay at the Lodge. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking equipment. Bedrooms are large and have ensuites. Nice touch. Our group of guys has been doing an annual ski trip for the past 52 years. This is the best accommodation we've had to date.

There were tenants renting out the basement which was not mentioned in the listing, they were banging on the floor if we weren’t quiet by 10:30, even just talking loudly was enough to set them off. Hot tub was also not cleaned very well when we arrived. Other than that place was enjoyable.

Wonderful

Our week long stay in Black Bear Chalet was great. The location was perfect with great snow on the mountain and an easy drive into Fernie. There was a very pleasant ambience about the chalet, with the log structure, the fire place and the hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and cooking implements and the BBQ was very handy. Our four grown children met us there and we each took a turn cooking the evening meal. It was a fun way to share our time together. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

Amazing home and location!

This home in the mountains is amazing! We stayed with three families of four! Fit us all perfectly. Everyone family had their own space and bathroom! The kitchen island is perfect for a buffet style service and the dinning table big enough for us all to eat together! Super close to the ski trails! The views are gorgeous! Beautiful log cabin minutes away from the lift

Fantastic log cabin, located just minutes away from the lift. Big rooms, lots of bathrooms, this absolutely sleeps as many as it claims. Perfect place for a mountain bike vacation with family. Would return for another stay, 100%
