Awesome house

Really nice clean and cozy place. Tyler and Katie were very easy to work with and even helped us line up a river shuttle. We will stay here again.

They thought of everything.

I was in Ft. Smith to fish the Bighorn for a few days, with several of my good buddies. Dining options on the river are very limited, so we took turns cooking meals. The kitchen and dining area were very well appointed for this endeavor. The owners, Katie and her husband Tyler, live next store to the property and were immediately responsive to all of our needs and questions. We’ve already made reservations to stay here again on a return fishing trip next spring.

Great stay in a great location.

3 of us stayed for 3 days. It was great. The property is very nice and clean. We have stayed here twice, and we hope to be back soon.

Bighorn Reservoir boating getaway

Great VRBO for a weekend of boating on the lake or fishing the river. Clean, new, well stocked, easy access, comfortable sleeping. No complaints at all!

Heavenly Haven

We loved this property! Comfortable, great kitchen, lots of room for the 2 of us. Grilled two nights, played games, FISHED a lot! Katie made a special birthday even better with a surprise touch. Katie’s husband Tyler was a wonderful co-host.

Amazing!!

For my husbands 40th I rented this VRBO for he and his buddies to have a weekend on the Horn and just kick back. I immediately received texts upon all of their arrivals saying how awesome this place was! Really nice inside and super clean. They had everything they needed there for the weekend trip (BBQ’er and other amenities). When my husband came home he said that really is the only way to do it for a weekend! He wants to stay again and this time has invited myself and our kids ;) Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience for the guys and letting them stay in your beautiful place!

“The Haven” is a heavenly stay in Ft Smith

The property was as described and pictured and likely better than what was in the listing. It’s an up to date second floor home with high ceilings that is very well kept and very clean and appointed with modern electronics. If you can’t climb the stairs then this gem will not be for you. There's wifi access that will keep you connected if your cell carrier does not have coverage. I have Verizon and had good LTE signal but the Wi-Fi was much better to use and stream. The kitchen has quality appliances, utensils, pots and pans, baking dishes, and a coffee maker with a bean grinder available. There’s also a medium sized propane barbecue on the deck which is a nice added feature for cooking meals. Bedrooms have two full sized comfortable beds, extra blankets and sheets with efficient mini ductless heat/ac inverter units in each room and the main room with separate remotes that kept the temps comfortable for each room occupant’s desired temperature range. Two comfortable queen sized beds in each room each provided with two soft and firm pillows for your choice to rest your head was also very nice touch. There are clean and well lighted bathrooms that are well stocked with bathroom supplies. The main kitchen open living area/ large screen TV area has two comfortable couches to rest / sit and chat after a long day of fishing. Likely the best VRBO rental in Fort Smith. Katie Steele gives quick response to your questions and concerns. Not mentioned in the VRBO listing is that Tyler Steele is a Fly Fishing Outfitter who we were not able to take advantage of his services because we already had bookings made with other guide services before booking the Haven. My guide gave him good regards on my float and he was one of the better guides I had used in my 45 years of fly fishing.

Fantastic place to stay in Fort Smith

We have stayed in Fort Smith on a semi annual basis for well over 10 years. We have had the pleasure of lodging in a variety of locations in town. We have always enjoyed our stay. With that said, "The Haven" is hands down the best lodging experience we have ever had!! Very spacious home. Super comfortable beds. Everything is well stocked. The kitchen is unbelievably well stocked and the open format is a dream to cook meals and a breeze to clean. The kitchen is important to us as we stay 2 weeks at a time. The owners Katie and Tyler are amazing and super responsive to any question or request you may have. We felt lucky to have found "The Haven". It is appropriately named. Fort Smith is lucky to have this jewel in their town. Location to the Lake and or the River could not be more convenient and the amenities available in town are literally walking distance from the front porch. We had a great time and will cherish the memories for a long while. We did not bring a pet but it is a great location for well behaved animals. I cannot say enough about how satisfied we were with our decision to stay at "The Haven". Thanks again Katie and Tyler!!!

Great place to stay

We stopped here after camping in the national forest and it was the most amazing place to recharge! Top notch mattresses, kitchen amenities, and overall rental. It felt like we were staying at home!

Great place!

If you are looking for a nice, convenient place to rent near the Bighorn River/reservoir this is a great place to stay. The owners are very helpful and accommodating. We needed help problem solving why our boat would not start and Katie found us an extra boat battery and charger from their garage. Highly recommend this place! I love how remote and low maintenance this town is, very MT! Thank you!

By far one of our favorite places we have stayed. Set up perfectly for a family. You can tell they put a lot of thought into it. Comfortable beds! Such a nice place to come back to after a long day on the lake.

Modern and great for chefs!

Perfect for our group consisting of a chef and winemaker who appreciate great food and wine. In Ft Smith if you don’t bring it with you, you’re out of luck in this department. And I mean really! We had great fishing and great meals. Our host Tyler is a very knowledgeable fishing guide whose personality complemented our own. Not to forget Katie’s great lunches! I’m looking forward to another visit soon!

We live in Fort Smith year-round and are available if you need information about the area, advice on things to do, or just want to chat about the fishing. We can be found fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, backpacking, and white-water rafting with our dogs Gus and Cooper (Smokey the cat prefers to stay home). Tyler is an avid outdoorsman and has been guiding professionally for 19 years. Check out our website: bighornproguide.com to book a guide. He began his career in Wyoming guiding elk hunts and then transitioned to guided fly-fishing. He is a fishing guide, outfitter, licensed captain and loves sharing his passion for fly-fishing with everyone who steps in his boat. Katie is an avid outdoorswoman and makes the best boat lunches on the Bighorn (inquire if you would like to order). She holds a degree in Biology and is a licensed captain. She is passionate about conservation and loves getting people outdoors to experience wilderness adventures.

You'll be on the second story so you're up above the rest of the homes, with gorgeous tree-top and mountain views. The covered porch is a great place to drink your coffee while catching the sunrise, and for lounging in the shade in the afternoon. The kitchen is complete with everything you might need to prepare you meals. We've provided high end mattresses and a variety of pillows so you can be sure that you'll rest well after a long day exploring the area. We are very proud of this home and work hard to keep it in tip top condition, we hope you love it as much as we do.

One of the nicest homes in town, it's brand-new stick-built home completed in January of 2020. We spent a lot of time creating a space that is set up well for vacationers. Why stay in an old, dated, manufactured home when you can here? For groups larger than 4, book our other rental, The Drive-In, (accommodates 6), or book both at the same time.
