Hjem for Two Inside VINational Park - gå til nærliggende strande

Hawks Nest er en fint udformet lille hjem med en ideel beliggenhed på privat ejendom inde grænser USA Virgin Islands National Park og i gåafstand fra fem forskellige strande. The North Shore strande Hawksnest, Gibney, Denis, Jumbie og Trunk Bay er alle inden for en 10-20 minutters gåafstand. For mere aktivitet, tennisbaner, spa, strande og restauranter i den verdensberømte Caneel Bay Resort er også på North Shore, og Cruz Bay er en ti minutters kørsel.

Anbragt mellem træerne 97-fod over Hawksnest Bay, hjemmet ser over vandet til Caneel Bay Resort og videre mod vest til solnedgangen over St. Thomas og andre ud-øer. Nyd de tre-sidet udsigt fra greatroom at se fuglene flyver af under morgenmaden. Slap for en behagelig tid i haven blandt de hjemmehørende træer og vilde orkideer. Gå til en anden North Shore stranden hver dag! For en spektakulær solnedgang middag, nyde den fulde længde dækket dæk derhjemme. Om aftenen, går på pension til master suite, som indeholder en king-size seng, en rummelig opholdsstue, pulver værelse og sten brusebad al fresco.

I løbet af sommeren og efteråret 2016, vil Hawks Nest gennemgribende restaurering, i overensstemmelse med sine caribiske sommerhus rødder. Økologisk-orienterede arkitekt Doug White er at sikre, at huset bevarer sin open air føler, men skærme vil være i stand til at blive trukket, hvis nødvendigt. Gæsterne vil nyde et nyt køkken og bad, spektakulære nye udendørs sten bruser, og udvidet soveværelse og dæk.

Den Hawks Nest beliggenhed giver gæsterne der nyder at gå optionen, og besparelser, for ikke at blive forpligtet til at leje en bil. Nationalparken vejen er en 3 minutters gang ned ad bjergsiden vej, der fører fra hjemmet. Taxi-varevogne løber langs parken vej i løbet af dagen og kan give et hurtigt løft til Caneel Bay Resort eller 10 minutters tur i byen Cruz Bay for flere spisemuligheder og unikke galleri shopping. Nogle gæster stadig vælge at leje en bil for at kunne lettere udforske øen, og i bekræftende fald, bør du reservere en lille 4-hjulstrækker på St. John.

It is hard to describe how perfect our experience was with the warm and welcoming owners and hosts. Everything we could possibly need was there and ready for us. It is also hard to describe breathtaking beauty of this property. Even after six nights, waking up to the view and sound of the ocean was truly magical. True perfection all around, I wish I was still there!

Joey and Polly were extremely welcoming and helpful. Joey even met me at Starfish Market, and led me to the villa. She was always quick to respond to any question or problem. And she gave me some local tips to make my hiking and snorkeling more fun. I could see that the host went the extra mile to provide snacks and drinks to make my stay more enjoyable. The villa itself was perfect for me. I loved seeing that view every breakfast and every evening. They provide nearly everything you could want: gas grill, snorkels/fins, a comfortable bed, outdoor shower, and a much appreciated plunge pool. But the best part was the close proximity to Oppenheimer Beach. A quick 8 minute walk, and you're there. No parking, no hassles, just a paradise beach (almost) to yourself. I'm "homesick" for the Villa already, but I know I'll be back!

Wonderful stay

My spouse and I have been wanting to stay here for a few years. Only regret is that we waited this long. Adorable cottage with unbeatable views in a convenient location - reasonably close to town but felt very remote. The property managers were great. Wouldn't change a thing. We'll be back.

Pack nothing but your swimsuit! This place has it all!

Lucky you if you get to stay at this glorious home overlooking Hawksnest Bay, it’s a stunning house and the owners and hosts have taken every step to ensure you have an amazing stay!There is almost everything you can think of for a great vacation waiting for you at the cottage, towels, yoga mats, snorkeling gear, beach chairs and toys. Coffee and olive oil and a good selection of spices (you might want to grocery shop after you take inventory), all right here. All you have to do is kick back and enjoy!!

Great Location and Host

Great location, views, property and host! If you’re looking for a clean quiet getaway then look no further. You can’t beat the vireos and surrounding beaches either. We plan on coming back.

Great stay. Location and views amazing. The house is perfectly done in stone and wood. Loved the deep infinity pool. Driveways a challenge but otherwise great stay.

We have been here 3 times since 2016 and enjoyed all. The North shore house is perfect and our favorite with nature surrounded villa with great deck pool view and top management.

Exceptional property in an amazing location

This was such a unique vacation and everything about the stay was memorable. Without a doubt the wall to wall views and the immersion into the natural beauty of the national park was the highlight as well as close access to Gibney beach right below. Thanks to Jen for all her help both pre and post arrival as well as Polly for sharing such a special property.

Comfortable refuge

Admirable, thoughtful, recently finished rebuild of hurricane-damaged home. Great for quiet getaway if you don't want resort amenities or immediate town proximity (and don't mind wandering roosters). Easy drive to St. John beaches and trails, and as easy to rest in and read at the house while taking in great views.

Fantastic cottage above Gibney Beach

We absolutely loved the stay - the house is perfectly set up, with attention to every detail and all you need for a relaxing beach vacation. Impeccably clean. Luxurious and low-key at the same time: exactly the way we love it. Secluded but within short drive to Cruz Bay town. The property manager is wonderful, proactive, and very knowledgable.

Hawksnest Heaven!

I honestly can't think of a single negative thing to say - From start to finish this place is absolute perfection! The pictures really don't do it justice, plus the hosts/property managers are extremely kind and attentive. The house is virtually spotless and stocked with just about everything you could need. In fact, we canceled all of our dinner reservations just to spend more soaking in all of the views! It truly was an amazing honeymoon, and we can easily say the house was the best part :)

Beautiful house, property and views!

My adult daughter and I stayed for 7 nights. We rented a jeep from Aqua Blue. It was a little tricky backing into the driveway but practice makes perfect. The pool was fabulous after a day on one of the beautiful north coast beaches. Sunsets on the pool deck were the best we’ve ever seen. Highly recommend this house!❤️

5+ STAR PROPERTY

The absolute perfect place for 2 couples. Each has their own completely private space. The plunge pool had a beautiful sun umbrella with 4 lounge chairs where we also enjoyed viewing the stars, and St Thomas at night. The kitchen had everything we needed for creating beautiful meals: the grill was the bomb for the fresh yellowfin tuna we were able to get through our AMAZING hosts. Jennifer and Joey were there for our every need. They picked us up at the ferry dock, lead us to the house, showed us around and got us settled right away. The entire experience exceeded our expectations! Can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Incredible stay at Hawksnest

Spent Thanksgiving week in Hawksnest Cottage and it was incredible. The cottage is stunning, beautifully designed and equipped for everything. The views, the sunsets, the only sounds you hear are the waves crashing and the varied sounds of all the wildlife. We had great communication with the owners, and the property manager Jen was great, she knows her stuff and will make sure your time is well spent. What an amazing property and I am grateful I was able to experience it, St John and Hawksnest Cottage are a great way to detox from life for a bit. Highly recommend!!

Best stay in St. John yet!

We love the location! Like living and sleeping in the jungle, but still only 10 minutes to Cruz Bay. We loved hiking down the trail from the house to Gibney Beach. The house was better than expected too. We were a group of 4, which was perfect sized house. The pool, the open air of the house and view was outstanding. And the top of the line kitchen had every thing we needed. Jen met us at the car ferry and she was very professional and totally friendly and easy to communicate with. We will stay again!

St John Splendor

A perfect stay in every way! My husband and I are retired “active-agers”. In choosing a VRBO, we look for comfort, space and beautiful surroundings and activities in the area. We loved Jumbie Beach the best…so close 10 min easy walk! The ease of driving to Cruz Bay for shopping/excursions…another plus. Jen met us after we did our grocery shopping and led the way and gave a tour. Everything was immaculate and so tastefully done… even some welcome goodies!! Prior to our arrival, the owner was in touch with us and answered any questions…we could not have had a better experience!

We bought the property in 2015 from the couple who first built the cottage mostly by hand themselves. We fell in love with Hawksnest immediately, because it so closely re-created our previous vacations at Maho Bay, one of the Caribbean's first eco resorts: spectacular views; walking distance to the island's most beautiful beaches; surrounded by national park. But the house needed TLC. After a season of renovations in 2016, the cottage was beautifully-restored, only to be almost destroyed by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Now, with irrational investments of time, money and love, Hawksnest Cottage has been fully restored again, welcoming guests who appreciate the beauty of the national park and the minimal environmental footprint of green design.
Hosting is hard work, for us and for our wonderful property managers, but we all enjoy making it possible for people to experience the beauty of St. John, sometimes for the first time and often as return guests. It gives us pleasure that Hawksnest Cottage is a place where people can mark special milestones in their lives, or simply rest, enjoy and appreciate.

We have travelled many places but there is something about St. John…its natural beauty protected because of the Virgin Islands National Park. The beaches are world class, the people friendly, the hiking trails varied, and the water so incredibly pleasant. When Maho Bay Camps closed, we thought we would return to St. John as renters, unless we found a small house surrounded by Park on the North Shore. Lo and behold….
Although we are not (yet) full time USVI residents, we've come back so often to this special place that it feels like home. To be able to own a simple but elegant place close to incredible beaches without a house in sight, yet near to town, is a dream come true.

The cottage offers a unique combination of elegant comfort with open-air living, connected to nature. The design of the house gives guests intimacy with the spectacular beauty of Hawksnest Bay and the hills surrounding it, maximizing the use of screens and the ability to enjoy meals or drinks or reading from a variety of locations around the house and decks. The infinity pool--accessed by bridge from the living room--makes it tempting never to leave, but there is so much to explore on St. John! You can rent a car if you like (most do), but we love the fact that you can walk to several beaches and that you can hop a shuttle to Cruz Bay so easily. Simple living... and a wonderful break from your normal routines.
