Smukt Broadkill strandhus beliggende 3. hus fra vandet. Dette hus har 3 soveværelser, 2. 5 badeværelser og 2.500 SF plads. 1. sal har åbent koncept med køkken, spisestue og stue med katedralloft og MASSE og MASSE vinduer! Det store åbne område er perfekt til familiemiddage. Direkte fra køkkenet er der et lille dæk med gasgrill og lille bord og stole. Den anden ende af rummet fører dig til et større dæk med et par loungestole og stor sving. Ned ad gangen finder du et dejligt soveværelse, komplet badeværelse og master-badeværelse. Det store soveværelse er MEGET rummeligt med eget badeværelse. Derudover har skibsføreren en pejs og åbner op i en anden stue. På vej op ad 2. sal er der et lille loftområde med et par stole. Dette er den BEDSTE SPOT i huset, da det har et stort billedvindue med panoramaudsigt over Delaware-bugten. Lige væk fra hemsen er et andet soveværelse med 2 sæt køjesenge.

A great place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was everything they said it was. The house was beautiful and the area was quiet. A short walk to the bay where we spent a lot of time. We would definitely rent this house again!

Family Beach Retreat

Gorgeous house steps from the beach

The house was amazing with high end features. Plenty of room for all of us. The beach is beautiful and not crowded. There can be a lot of mosquitos but we came prepared with bug spray so all was well. Perfect family vacation.

Great quiet place to vacation

We were very happy with the rental - the home was well equipped with everything one might need on their vacation - from kitchen items to beach chairs and toys, even batteries and tools. It was also extremely convenient to the beach with just a short walk and the beach was never crowded. Definitely a good place to vacation during the pandemic. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Good visit

We were pleased that the house was so clean and well-stocked with kitchen tools and beach gear (but note there was a single roll of toilet paper, no other paper products, and literally only one salt shaker, nothing else food-wise). We would rent again!

Hi Beth, thanks for the review. Just to clarify, it states in the weekly rental agreement that you signed when you booked and in our Welcome Letter that's sent 2 weeks prior to occupancy....That paper products are not provided. Regarding food in the house.... We JUST got out of the pandemic (COVID 19) and it's our standard to throw ALL leftover food and condiments out. In the past 2 years if any food item was left the next renters were upset.... Sorry this was an inconvenience for you. Thanks again for staying in this rental property! Carl

Perfect Family Getaway

A beautiful property with all the amenities we could need. Foodies will love the kitchen - quality appliances and all the tools you need to make fun vacation meals and more. Going to the beach was a breeze with a short walk to the water. We had the option to use beach chairs, umbrellas and beach toys as needed. Very comfortable with plenty of space to relax and enjoy time together.

Fantastic House

Absolutely beautiful home only steps from the beach. We could not have been happier with the condition of the house and its location. The bunk room was great for kids and the living areas were open and spacious for hanging out. The house was well stocked with new appliances and there were plenty of beach toys, chairs, fishing poles, etc. to have have a wonderful time at the beach.

Great for some, not for everyone

The house is lovely, in a quiet neighborhood with a short walk to the beach. The beach is picturesque with fabulous sunsets and you are able to have a large portion of the beach all to yourself. However, we didn’t enjoy the beach as much as I was expecting due to the large amount of jellyfish and swarms of biting flies. Also, there is a very strong tidal current which makes it difficult to swim away from shore. We ended up taking very short dips in the water to cool off, but were really unable to enjoy any sort of swimming activity. For those with small children this may not be the beach for you. It was also difficult to just sit on the beach due to the amount of flies - and I was slathered with insect repellent. Perhaps this was an unusually bad year due to the heat wave, but I have no way of knowing that. PROS: We had a wonderful bonfire on the beach that was the highlight of our stay. You can have canopies and shelters on the beach as needed. Wonderfully secluded and quiet, which is a plus! The house is lovely with lots of space and a great kitchen. Nice swing out on the deck where I spent a lot of time relaxing with my computer and a coffee. CONS: Difficult to swim and actually sit on the beach for long periods of time due to flies/jellyfish. Lots of dead horseshoe crabs along the beach. Remote setting may not be for everyone. 15 minutes drive to Lewes for restaurants and nightlife.

Pamela, thank you for the comment. I'd to clarify a couple items.... This beach is the Delaware Bay which has min current unlike the ocean at Cape Henlopen. There's ZERO under toe or rip currents. I've been here all my life and back in the day was a lifeguard for 5 years on Cape Henlopen and Dewey Beach so I can tell you the current at Broadkill is minor to those beaches. Which makes it so ideal for young children. Additionally, yes on occasion when the wind blows out of the west you will have flies. This happens in Lewes, Cape Henlopen, Dewey, Bethany beach and Fenwick Island beaches. When there's bodies of water behind the beach in this case the Prime Hook wild life refuge you will have flies when the wind blows out of the west. It happens along most of the beaches in Delaware....Again I would know as I've lifeguarded on these beaches. Lastly the logo picture for Broadkill beach is a horseshoe crab.... That's what Broadkill Beach is known for... They come here to mate.

Great stay!

Our family had a great week at 8 Texas Avenue. The house is gorgeous and comes with a lot of thoughtful amenities. It's just a short walk to the beach. Great communication with the host with an easy check-in/out procedure. We highly recommend this property and would rent it again.

Relaxing family vacation

This is a beautiful house with everything we needed and more. Really appreciated the comfortable beds with plenty of pillows. Loved the beach and the chill vibe of the community. Will definitely return to Broadkill and would rent here again.

Everything in the house was fresh and new. The kitchen had every tool and appliance you need, as well as lovely dishes and platters to serve a big group. The beach was perfect.

Great Location!

This is the second time we have stayed at this house and love it! It is in a great location, close to the beach, quiet and perfect for a family getaway. The kitchen is well stocked, extremely clean and comfortable! I would highly recommend this house and I am sure we will be staying again!
