I am retired, have many interests and not enough time. I began buying/renovating townhomes a few years ago. I enjoy the process of creating. My son describes the renovations as "art projects." Designing interiors and landscaping spaces are a lifetime passion - though nothing related to my career. I like improving things and leaving something more beautiful than I found it. When I retire from retirement, I would like to return to painting portraits/landscapes.

In 2018 I soloed the Camino de Santiago (500+ miles) from Saint Jean Pied de Port, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. It was an indescribable and amazing experience. When I returned, this property came on the market. I decided then to open a vacation rental with the purpose of serving travelers that want to come to AZ for short or long-term stays. I want people to have the opportunity to experience the uniqueness not only of the Tucson/Oro Valley area - but the beauty of the Sonoran Desert. We have many national parks, mountains, rich cultures, and the Arts inherent in our area. Finally, there are a plethora of available year-round physical activities throughout the region. When I saw the townhome, I knew immediately that it was my next project. I loved the space, the energy, mountain views, giant saguaros in the front yard, large patio, and rooms. The cathedral ceilings create a feeling of expanse. Because the purpose of the townhome would be a vacation rental home, every renovation and purchase decision from start to finish was built around envisioning the guest living in the space and experiencing being there.

Location-wise, I could not ask for a better Oro Valley location. Carmel Pointe is a well-maintained and established gated community. It is an active community of adults, lots of golfers on carts, winding sidewalks perfect for dog walkers, and meeting up with neighbors.

The Oro Valley Community and Recreation Center (formerly the El Conquistador Country Club) adjoining the neighborhood, has 3 premier golf courses, 15 tennis courts, 6 pickleball courts, a heated Olympic-sized lap pool, fitness center, yoga classes, and Overlook Restaurant. What more could one want in a vacation rental and you can walk there in minutes! The public library is across the street and several local eateries, a grocery, pharmacy, are within blocks. Hiking is also nearby in Catalina State Park.

This townhome has completely been redone - soft stone colors flow throughout the rooms. It has an open floor plan, cathedral ceilings, a gas fireplace, a large private patio perfect for entertaining, and a new gas grill. The kitchen boasts new beautiful white granite countertops and stainless appliances. The modern furniture, a 65" mounted HDTV in the living room, gas fireplace, reading room/office with mountain views makes the home spectacular. The master bedroom has a Cal King bed - a huge bathroom, spa tub, and a walk-in closet. The patio/zen garden was designed with guests in mind for evening relaxation or a small gathering of friends/family.

The townhome is in a safe, upscale gated community. It has a two-car garage, mountain views, many giant Saguaros in the front yard and it adjoins to the Oro Valley Community and Recreation Center (which you walk to and join for pennies.) The home is near Naranja Park (.5 miles) which has a dog park (large and small canines) some hiking trails, baseball, and soccer fields, and an archery range. The Sonoran Desert Flyers meet several days a week to fly/land their remote-operated planes. Within the gated community and Oro Valley, there are safe sidewalks for walking/ walking your dog. You can walk to restaurants, the grocery, pharmacy, hardware store, nail spas, and hair salons to name a few. The Oro Valley Hospital and Northwest Medical Centers are within 15 minutes drive and there are several local Urgent Care facilities as well. The Tucson Premier Outlet Mall is about a 20-minute drive as well as other large shopping malls and department stores in the area. For golfers, there are several community golf courses in the area - 3 premier courses located at the Community Center next door. Tennis is a big sport in Oro Valley and is played year-round. There are two sites for tennis - Pusch Ridge (16) (reopening soon) and the OV Community Center (15) for a total of 31 courts. National/local/state USTA tournaments are played throughout the year along with other high-profile national events. Jennifer Fuchs, (now the owner of ElConquistador Tennis, LLC, was Dir. of Tennis at the CC since 1999; she played professionally in all the Grand Slams! So take a lesson from her pros or join a practice group. If you prefer pickleball - 6 courts at the CC so you can practice there too. Oro Valley is cycle friendly community so please watch out for riders and give them plenty of clearance. A special lane is dedicated to their use - it is not a right-hand turn lane.
