Loved our stay!

Super clean, amazing lake view. We loved the beach, enjoyed kayaking, swimming. Great place to vacation for our family if four. The kids LOVED the loft :)

Beautiful Lake Dunmore Cabin

We stayed in this adorable cabin during my daughter’s Middlebury move-in weekend. In addition to the space being really cute and clean, the location was also excellent. We also enjoyed being able to just walk over to Paddler’s Pub for dinner. It was a great weekend. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We were overall very pleased. The only comment is that is was unclear that the main bed was only accessible by a ladder to a loft. We had to sleep on the murphy bed in the living room as my husband is unable to climb a ladder.

Middlebury Graduation Weekend

We had a great stay at the cottage. We were in town for Middlebury's graduation weekend. Only about 15 minutes to campus, which was closer than we expected. Used the cabana for a cookout with about 25 people and it worked out perfectly. Beautiful location, not too busy.

Wonderful stay - inspiring lake view

My Mom and I stayed at the Waterhouse cottage to visit my son at Middlebury College. We loved the place, location, and morning coffee outdoors looking at the beautiful lake. We did not use the loft because it was too difficult to access for us older people. But that did not take anything away from our great experience.

Nice place, comfortable, good location for Midd visits/graduation. Great communication, they quickly accommodated a change in our plans (increased stay by one night). Well stocked with all usual household appliances (but no dishwasher). Comfortable beds incl the Murphy bed. Good shower. Few things to know, there are skylights without shades/covers in the loft and over the Murphy bed so it gets bright inside very early at graduation time. No shades/blinds over the window in the loft either, the bed is placed right at the window. No condiments or kitchen cooking/seasoning basics (oil, salt, pepper etc). One suggestion: replace the white light bulb outside the front door with a yellow light so bugs are not attracted. We initially arrived at night and a few hundred bugs were waiting for us at the front door, impossible not to have a few dozen get inside when we opened the door. Closest place to get a cup of coffee is a mile away (Kampersville store) so not a quick walk, but that store does have good pastries.

Beautiful views, friendly staff

We rented the cottage for a visit with our Middlebury student. The Waterhouses campground and cottages are a short drive to Middlebury and staying at Lake Dunmore is beautiful in the late Summer/early fall season. The cottage has a loft bedroom, but we opted to sleep on the Murphy bed because the loft is up a ten foot ladder-it is nothing like stairs - it is definitely a ladder. The kitchen was clean and had plenty of storage and a nice bar to sit at. Linens were very basic, but provided. Although the cottage sits right on the road across from the campground, it was generally very quiet, although the crew team keeps gear in an outside bin attached to the building for their early practice. It was lovely to see them on the water in the am and the night sky was stunning.Walked down to the convenience store at another nearby campground for breakfast muffins and creamees. The Waterhouses store had basics like milk and beer. Staff was friendly and easy to find at the boat rental desk. We did not eat at the restaurant but it looked very nice.Definitely a nice option to staying in town, especially in nice weather.

Beautiful spot on lake Dunmore close to the Waterhouse.

The cottage seems recently remodeled and is very comfortable. Very close to the water and beautiful views of the lake. We even had a surprise regatta on Saturday morning of our stay as the Vermont cup was being held. We were able to witness the set up and warm up and then the actual regatta. Teams started to set up at around 7 and the race began at 9. Felt like we were part of it! Wry exciting! Sunday morning was very peaceful. We went on a beautiful hike up to silver lake - just gorgeous! Close to Middlebury but enjoyed all the charm of the lake and the beautiful fall colors. Beautiful spot!

Cottage near the lake

The location in Salisbury is beautiful and quiet in the fall. Very convenient to Middlebury and hiking trails. The cottage, including the deck, overlooks a gravel parking lot next to the marina and it is across the street from the campground. We were a bit concerned about noise when we arrived but didn't hear outside noises inside the cottage at all. Murphy bed was quite comfortable.

Middlebury Move In

Excellent location and welcoming cabin…provided a great place rest after trip from Texas and prepping for freshmen move in. It was just what we needed…grilled steaks an celebrated the sentinel event.

Wonderful cottage with direct lake access.

A very nice, clean and updated cottage! We loved the beach access. The cottage had everything that we needed and Curtis, the property manager was very accommodating. We will definitely be renting this property again!

What a perfect spot!

The location is right on the water and the home was very clean and the perfect space for my family and pets! We were super close to Middlebury - very convenient location to all the activities we had planned. Thank you!!!

Great location and beautiful area

The cottage is half of another building. We did not hear the other occupants. The location is beautiful and next to the marina with good food and drinks. There are areas to walk near the cottage with lovely views of the lake. The cottage is well equiped. The beds are comfortable. It was clean. Check in was easy. The location while next to the road is quiet. The bar at the marina closes at 9:00pm. The only issue I have is with the loft. If you need access to the other bed the details in the description describe it well. The ladder is straight up and not good for elderly and children.
