A very rare, authentic, characterful dovecote built in the 12th century - carefully re-enchanted into a comfortable and charming holiday home - nestled on the edge of meadows at the foot of a majestic medieval fortress dating from 1056 (stronghold of the Dukes of Burgundy, classified as a "Historical Monument"), on a vast natural property of 2 hectares, 9 km from Gueugnon, a "town in the countryside" with a rich industrial past (numerous amenities including supermarkets). Calm & total tranquility, perched in a "panoramic lookout" in the heart of the meadows, on a gentle hill overlooking a small typical village, in the heart of the gentle preserved countryside of northern Charolais (largely protected as a ZNIEFF for its rich fauna & flora), nestled between the green valleys of the Bourbince & the Arroux, a magnificent hilly setting combining agriculture & the great outdoors, between bucolic hedgerows, forests, rivers & ponds, not far from the banks of the Loire, the "last wild river in Europe" protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" (for its exceptional ecosystems). Set amidst meadows on a gentle hillside, just steps from a small forest, the castle offers a panoramic view of the charming village of Chassy, the verdant Arroux Valley, and the town of Gueugnon. Total tranquility, nestled in the heart of the unspoiled countryside of northern Charolais (largely protected as a ZNIEFF area for its rich fauna and flora), in the hollow of a vast plateau of wooded meadows (home to the famous Charolais cattle in season) dotted with fields, rivers, ponds, and forests. A magnificent, rolling landscape combining agriculture and unspoiled nature, perfect for exploring on relaxing walks or mountain bike rides. An ultra-peaceful setting and location.
