The rooms were very clean and hosts were very accommodating and they even cooked a fantastic meal for us one day! The pool and views of the ocean were fantastic! The kitchen and 3 refrigerator were a bonus! The bedrooms were large with separate bathroom attached.

This property had everything we could ask for. Clean beautiful home with large bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, spacious gathering areas, beautiful vistas of the ocean, Catania, and Mt Etna. Location is excellent for day trips to Taormina, Catania, Ragusa, Etna, Syracuse, Ortigia, Noto and many other beautiful locations. Great communication with the owner. Easy check in and check out. Francesca and Gianni were a pleasure to work with. I will definitely consider staying here again.

Beautiful property with plenty of space. Several outdoor seating areas to admire the amazing views. Property owners were super sweet and communicated quickly. Would definitely stay again.

This property was a great base for our stay in Sicily. Amazing views, a great pool and plenty of shaded areas to sit under during the hottest part of the day. Fully equipped and had everything we needed while there. Fantastic hosts (although English not their first language) communicated well and even checked in during the week to make sure we didn’t need anything. Would definitely recommend hiring a car for staying here but that didn’t put us off.

Lovely villa with an amazing view

We really enjoyed our stay at the villa! The view and garden are amazing, and although the villa is a bit dated, it’s charming and clean. Gianni and Franca did a fantastic job taking care of the house and helping out when needed. I truly recommend the villa to any large family or group!

What a Beautiful Space & Gracious Hosts

My husband, my friends and I had a beautiful stay at this charming villa overlooking the sea! We even got to see Mt. Etna erupting one morning from the patios and gardens! Everything went very smoothly from check-in to check-out. We even opted in to a beautiful dinner prepared for our group after a long day trip up Mt. Etna and the several-course meal was divine, ending with a magnificent homemade tiramisu! I will be recommending this place to friends and family who have already started asking where I found it!

Family vacation

The property was wonderful. We appreciated the charm and historic feel of the Villa. A rental car is a big advantage but we also found many reliable cab companies. Enjoyed an incredible Sicilian feast prepared by Francesca and her daughter, just wonderful. Patio dinning with the water view and waves was perfect. Thank you.

Authentic and lovely

We loved this house! The Etna view made it magic. The kids loved the pool and the diving board. We loved the different out door lounges. Being a group of 12 was not a problem, enough Space for everybody. If all the bathrooms had shower (not bathtub) it would be even better. We would like to stay here again.

Great location and very comfortable

Check in was a nightmare. Family was supposed to meet host at airport with a cot - but he was no where to be found. Directions to villa were very scattered but finally arrived met by housekeeper and shown around the villa. It was old and in need of some updating but very comfortable for our party of 10. Beds and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Pool was lovely although it was still warm enough to swim in the sea. All in all a wonderful holiday.

Feels like home

I rented the villa for a week to celebrate my birthday with a group pf friends. The house is vast and the rooms can easily accommodate a big group of people. The outside space is stunning with several little corners that each has a little something of dolce vita - and the vue... unbeatable. The commodities are a bit old - as expected - but overall the house has everything you need : kitchen is equipped, Wi-Fi works perfectly. Located a bit outside of the city but still very convenient to travel across the coast. Would definitely recommend this place !

Great location for a Sicilian adventure!

We spent 3 weeks here in 2023 at the end of September through mid-October and had the best time.The yard and pool are worth everything! The house is well located if you want to hit the road, as we often did, but tricky to find initially (save Esso Costa Saracena in your GPS). Great sandwich shop just down the road and main grocery store 10 min away. Both the owner and the property managers were accessible on WhatsApp and always very helpful, but you'll need your translator app if you don't speak Italian. We miss Sicily and the house every day!

Huge, beautiful home with breathtaking views

This house was amazing for our family of six. There was more than enough room for all of us, and the outdoor space was so great we spent most of our time soaking up the sun and view from the beautiful pool and multiple sitting areas. The pictures don't do justice to the gorgeous blue sea and views of Etna. The property owner, Nando, was always quick to respond and extremely helpful when we had trouble finding the house on arrival. The host, Gianni and his wife, were so sweet and accommodating during our visit. We didn't want to leave. If you're coming to Catania, do yourself a favor and stay at this house!

The best property I’ve ever stayed at on vacation

This place is amazing. The beach is a few steps away down the hill You can swim to a secluded rock beach The pool is a refreshing saltwater luxury The house is spacious well furnished The kitchen is amazingly stocked compared to properties we usually rent We cook at home for most of our trip because we like being together and Doing our own thing. The property managers who checked us were kind and helpful and available. You do need to follow the booking instructions in terms of directions and contacting the property managers prior to arrival There is plenty of parking the property managers handle the garbage for you, which is nice in Italy, which has this very complicated garbage sorting system I Would love to come back to this property with friends and family

Carter Family

The villa is in a beautiful spot with a view of Mt Etna. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, not much English and our Italian was worse. Translation app helped a lot. There were 12 of us and the kids were in the pool most of the day. It’s in between Catalina and Syracuse so you definitely need a car. The villa itself is older and in a quiet area and large sitting areas outside and inside.. Kitchen is small and no toaster but we used the oven.

Large house with nice outdoor areas

The house is old and rather poorly maintained. The outdoor area and swimming pool are lovely by the sea and have a view to Etna. The house is located by itself in a closed area, so you need a car to get around. Driving distance to shopping for food is 20 minutes and there are no restaurants within walking distance of the house. Although the Ionian Sea is directly below, it is not possible to swim there due to the lack of a bathing ladder. The host is very friendly and served us a lovely Sicilian dinner one evening.

Stunning view

Large villa with a stunning view. The sea is only few meters away, requires to walk down the hill. Wonderful experience! You can hear the waves and Etna looks down on you with majestic look.A/C included but you can use only five machines at the same time. If all the bedrooms are in use and need cooling, you must take turns. We used all of them (didn't know the rule) because it was very hot and this caused the fuses to break down and we lost almost all the electricity.Helpful staff, but they didn't speak English. Very friendly Italian couple who were available if needed.The villa itself was huge. Kitchen was tiny, but we managed still quite well.

This villa is spectacular. It’s views of the Ionian Sea with Mt. Etna in the background are unrivaled. The pool is saltwater and large. The patio is massive and there must be a dozen places you can’t sit, each offering something special. It has long tables for family dinners both inside and out. The property is totally private and even the clothesline is a lovely brick patio with a blooming bird of paradise and the fragrance of the sea. It is really a magical spot set for making family memories.Giani and Francesca, the caretakers, are lovely and happy to help with anything you need. Francesca’s lasagna is probably the best I’ve ever eaten. Her Tiramisu was up there as well. They are eminently friendly and helpful for anything you need.At this price, this is a great stay. However, a professionally run and managed property, it is not. The host was not particularly responsive and generally seemed uninterested in providing the slightest bit of support. Towels were old and worn and a general cleanliness of the house was lacking. Basic necessities (toilet paper, dish soap) were short until we asked for them. The only other downside is it is a bit far to places you might want to go - there is no nearby market or restaurant and downtown Syracuse is a good 40 minutes away. As others have mentioned, if you can move beyond the quirks of the place, this is a great value stay. You won’t find such a large property in such a spectacular setting at this price anywhere else.

large but quirky property

Fabulous view and plenty of room as advertised. Vastly unequal options for bedrooms. Cannot state strongly enough how our stay was negatively affected by an absent UNREACHABLE and uninformative host. No actual address. No information on how to open the gate to the property. No guide to the winding streets within the gated community. No system for checkout - how to leave the house keys and gate opener AFTER using it to exit. I finally had to call VRBO support from a roadside gas station to get any useful assistance. It should be noted that communication is only possible by WhatsApp and then still unresponsive.

Idealic estate

My wife and I invited friends to join us for a week at Villa Stella. We all had a wonderful time enjoying the prime property on a cliff overlooking Mt Etna and Mediterranean Sea. The property and building is just amazing place to enjoy with friends. The stonework needs a lot of pointing and areas of rebuilding but am amazed at the work that was put into the building in its construction years past. I am a long distance swimmer and was in heaven having quiet waters to swim in. The only issue which is common in the Mediterranean now days are the jellyfish population. If I return I would bring a full body suit and gloves to better prevent possible stings on my long swims. On one stroke I punched down into the center of the bell and luckily did not get stung as the tentacles are on the underside. A car is a must to enjoy the exquisite restaurants in nearby brucoli which is a 15 min drive. recommended for high end dining is Straventa and Castello. The closest restaurant has great laidback fare across the bay on the beach is Il Triangolo. The only drawback is like I said needs a lot of work to make it perfect but if that happens I probably couldn’t afford to stay at it,so as long as you are fine with a few imperfect items you will love it.
