Hanalei Bay Resort overlooks Hanalei Bay from a tropical, lush 28 acres in Princeville. Beautiful ocean and Bali Hai views are everywhere on this property. With four new artificial turf and two new hard courts as well as 6 new pickleball courts added to this world ranked tennis resort, everyone is sure to find their groove. Beach access is provided down a long, fair grade, paved path, and the resort staff offer convenient golf cart rides to the beach below.

This lovely studio unit will make a great location for your next vacation! Private, quite, mountain and garden views. Conveniently located close to the pool, tennis courts and hot tub, as well as the parking area. The county of Kauai does not permit this studio to have a kitchen. There is only a coffee maker, blender and electric tea kettle.

Wonderful Hanalei Bay Resort grounds and property. We stayed at HBR on our honeymoon and now came back with family. Unit was clean and adequate. It's small and with pull out sofa open felt a bit cramped. Unit is close to pool and lobby. Decently appointed, although not updated or high-end in any respect. Slightly worn furniture and moderate wear and tear. Mini-split AC could have been colder. Didn't affect the good time we had. We enjoyed our trip, and I'd recommend staying at this unit for a nice, chill vacation. Kauai never disapoints!

Great unit on a nice resort

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit was very modern, clean, and comfortable. Very well constructed / good materials used. The resort was even nicer than expected. We really enjoyed ourselves on this trip. Hot water never ran out, the hot tub in the resort was kept at a really nice warm temp, and there were many grills to cook on.

peaceful condo and beautiful resort

It was perfect for my adult daughter and I (she’s very nice to share a bed with Mom). Great base camp- our rental car gave us the flexibility to stay in beautiful Princeville and explore the rest of the island. Pool here is amazing and easy beach access

Beautiful resort stay

Really nice room on a beautiful property overlooking the Bay. Loved the high ceilings which made the space feel large. Good size for a couple.

We love Kauai and are so glad to be back on island. Especially up here in Princeville with Hanalei so close by. The perfect stay.

Amazing view of the mountains

We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the apartment very much. Beautiful view from the balcony and there is a nice path down to the beach.

HBR 1557

The room was as listed and the stay was wonderful. We loved the resort and the amenities available as well as the location and proximity to different beaches, towns, and activities. The only downside to the stay was a number of bugs throughout the stay. While this is somewhat expected given the climate and it was not excessive, we were consistently finding 1-2 cockroaches a day. Other than that, this was a 5-star stay.

Excellent Spot!

My husband and I loved this location for our babymoon! The condo is updated, bed is extremely comfortable and the view is AMAZING from the balcony. The resort has all of the needed amenities - pool, beach access, towels, bar. I highly recommend this location and would definitely stay again! Thank you for the great hospitality!

Great Location - Unresponsive Host

Hanalei Bay Resort is wonderful and the staff are a delight. This condo is very small and does not have a kitchen, just a sink and a mini fridge. We spent days reserving the adjoining unit. Prior to checking in, the host was very responsive, but once the check in date arrived, the host took days to respond to messages. We eventually did add the adjoining room and appreciated the full kitchen and extra bathroom, although that bathroom does not have a bathtub, despite one being shown in the floor plan.

Roaches :(

The good: check in was easy, the bellhop service was wonderful. Gorgeous view from the patio, great amenities, great location with beach access. Convenient location near shops and restaurants. The bad: On our first night we found two cockroaches in our bathroom. We contacted the property owner who told us they would contact their pest removal service. I am not sure if they did so during our stay. The next morning we found two more roaches. The worst part is that the owner did not even apologize. It’s a shame because the rest of the stay was great, but I would not stay in this home again.

All in all tiptop

Initially, we thought that you can cook in the accommodation. However, this was not possible. Therefore, we switched to the BBQ grills in the complex. Worked wonderfully.

Lovely mountain views

Condo 1557 is nicely situated close to all the amenities offered by he Hanalei Bay Resort. The bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom was modern and clean. The view from the balcony was lovely. The only improvement I could suggest for the room is the inclusion of a microwave oven and a hot water kettle. While there is a refrigerator in the unit, it did not have ice-making capabilities. Otherwise, the unit lived up to expectations.

Lacking in the normal studio at HBR

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I take it as my fault, I assumed it was like the last studio I have rented for a couple of years. Not available. This unit had NO: Stovetop, Oven, Dishwasher, Microwave, Freezer in small hotel size Refrigerator and Washer & Dryer. I managed, but was disappointed it lacked in so much.

Magical honeymoon Spot

We had the most incredible stay here. My husband and I could not be more pleased with our decision to stay here. Ideal location on the north shore. Just a quick drive to multiple beaches, quaint town of Hanalei, hiking on the Napali. Luxury of getting to make our breakfasts in the condo and eat on the balcony over looking a view that resembles Jarassic Park. The pool area, Happy Talk Lounge and beach (shared with St. Regis) were very convenient on days we weren't exploring. Must pour yourself a drink and go watch the sunset at the fire pit lounge chairs by the tennis courts. Plenty of delicious dining ( Makena Terrace, Bar Acuda, The Dophin) and fun eating/bar spots ( Tahiti Nui, wishing well, St. Regis bar). Fun ideas we enjoyed- driving up the coast to the end of the road, lighthouse, queens bath, farmers market, hiking to the waterfall on Napali trail, gardens by Tunnels beach, massages at Hanalei Day Spa, pool is great for lounging. Rent a car, worth every penny. Again, it was incredible and we can not wait to return to the resort!!

Terrible Unit

The property is very very old and the unit has a remodel bathroom and that’s it. There is no microwave or cooktop and plugs are capped off in a kitchen sink area . There are dishes but no way to prepare food unless you use the old grills outside and no way to warm up food. There were termite bugs noise the unit around the bedding and pillows . Freaked us out!

Get What You Pay For!

We had a great vacation, but...we were a bit disappointed with the property. The room as good, but it was a bit run down and dusty. There were chips in the wall paint, the art work was dated and warped, furniture has seen better days, and there was dust everywhere (under the bed, the lamps, base boards, etc.). But the view was great, room was quiet and the bed was super comfortable. Now onto the resort...it was very disappointing. They call it a resort, but there was very little there to offer the guests. Pool bar was indefinitely closed, the main restaurant was closed, and the only place to eat was the lounge but it's only open 5 days a week from 3-9pm. There was no place on the property to have coffee or eat breakfast and lunch. And, the lounge had issues two of the four nights we were there so the wait time was crazy long and they couldn't serve alcohol. It was nice that they had a beach to access from the property, which it took 15-20 minutes to walk to, but they don't offer any restrooms once you're there. We won't be going back to HBR.

An ok experience, clean.

This was our first time to Kauai and we stayed at this property the first night we arrived. It was very easy to find using google directions. After check in, we were provided a map of where to park and where this unit was located on the 22 acre campus. Parking was very limited in the lot closest to the unit. Then you have to trek with your bags down a back driveway, beyond the dumpsters and a busy employee maintenance worker entrance area complete with loading docks. Tip: leave anything in your car that is not worth carrying all the way through all of this and down, down to the unit. Once inside, the unit was very pleasantly clean, cool and welcoming. The bed was amazing. We slept like babies but had to get a move on in the morning. We checked in 7:00 pm and had to be out by 10:00 am the following morning. The early checkout makes things really rushed in the morning and kind of makes you feel like you barely got your moneys worth. I would have paid extra to check out a couple hours later. In the end, we rate this unit with 4 stars. 3.5 stars seemed not quite enough. We probably would have rated our experience 4.5 stars had it not required the commute through the not-so-satisfying employee entrance area. If we choose to stay at Hanalei Bay Resorts again, we will pay extra for a more centralized unit. Also, if you stay on a Wednesday and want a drink at the bar when you first arrive, byob! The bar/restaurant is closed on Wednesday evenings?? The pool area is open until 10:00 but is dimly lit. The hot tub was broken which was a real bummer also. Good, clean place to sleep and take a clean shower. If you pack light and don’t mind a bit of a hike to your room, this may be the place for you!!
