Autentisk bjælkehytte 1/2 km til Appalachian Trail / på Paint Creek / Fire pit / fiskeri

Viking Mountain Lodge er en gammel 2200 kvadratmeter bjælkehytte beliggende inde i Cherokee National Forest nær Appalachian Trail. Kabinen sidder højt oppe i Smoky Mountains omkring halvvejs mellem den maleriske bjergby Hot Springs, North Carolina og den historiske by Greeneville, Tennessee. Den to etagers struktur er lavet af ru skårne hemlock-bjælker, der er udhugget på ydersiden. Med fire soveværelser og to komplette badeværelser har VML muligheden for at sove 15 gæster, hvilket gør det velegnet til store grupper eller familiesammenkomster.

VML har udsigt over Paint Creek, der kører bredden på den fire hektar store ejendom. Uanset om du sidder på verandaen i de håndlavede cypressmøbler, på dækket i de gyngende / adirondack stole, eller indvendigt med vinduerne åbne, kan du lytte til den fredelige melodi fra det farende farve i Paint Creek. Vores gæster kommenterer ofte, at dette alene er værd at rejse til Viking Mountain Lodge. Der er en ildgrube i forhaven nede ved vandkanten for at stege marshmallows eller holde varmen på en kølig aften. Selvom kabinen er rustik, har den alle hjemmets bekvemmeligheder; et stort, fuldt udstyret køkken, vaskemaskine og tørretumbler, sengetøj, håndklæder, brændeovn, gaskamin, 6 splinternye Hunter-loftsventilatorer med 5 blade, kombination af gas / trækul / ryger og endda et 50 ”High Definition plasma-tv med 7. 1 surround sound til de kolde eller regnfulde dage. Alt dette i en rummelig, ren kabine dekoreret med adskillige Bev Doolittle-tryk og mange antikke møbler.

wonderful cabin!!

This was the perfect cabin for 4 hiking men to stay in. Everything was well done. We used all four spacious bedrooms. The table and kitchen was very good.Overall, this place is Highly recommended!!!Rustic looking from the outside but charming and well decorated from the inside

Log cabin experience

My wife, granddaughter and I had an enjoyable stay. The home is conveniently located near the Appalachian trail and a short distance from Hot Springs and Greenville. The mountains around the property are beautiful and we enjoyed the sound of the creek in front of the home. The owner was very responsive to our needs and we would gladly stay here again.

Nice cabin, spacious older, log style cabin, all the features and amenities that you need only thing I did not like was no window coverings on the main floor….. if you like darkness at night this is the cabin to be at..Enjoyed it very much

Get Away

The bridge to the property has a steep drop off that scraped the bottom of my car. Getting in the lockbox for the key was difficult ,had to go to neighbor for property manager info. due to no wifi at the cabin to use cell phone . No heat in the bathrooms . Would only recommend if these problems was addressed.

relaxing and peaceful

Alan was a great host! The cabin was extremely clean, and had so much space! The kids loved the fire pit and yard games and the stream! Kitchen was easy to cook in- at first it was hard with no service but was SO NICE to disconnect! We can wait to come back during warmer weather

Nice getaway

Everything about the cabin was great. My family and i enjoyed it. The no cell service took a little time to get use too but it was nice hanging out with family with no phone's in the way.

Perfect for a guy's weekend

I booked this place for my husband and his 2 friends for his 40th birthday weekend. Knowing there was no internet beforehand was great and that's why he wanted this one! They hiked around and had a great time, great place to stay.

Viking Mtn Lodge stay for a local wedding

The Cabin is awesome plenty of space inside and plenty of things to do outside as well. The creek is cool as well as the ponds to enjoy. The walk up Viking mountain road is awesome met some neighbors and stopped at the campground at the top of the road where there is i little store where you can get some essentials like coffee, ice, chips and they even cook pizzas. The only thing I would say needs a little attention is WiFi it would have communicating with the rest of the family much easier. I would definitely recommend it if you are going to stay in the area.

Peace and Serenity

When you first drive up and cross the bridge you know your in the country. When you feel the gentle cool Breeze you know your in the mountians.When you hear the sound of waterfall and gentle waters you want that hammock you didn't bring. The house itself is rustic ,open beam and decor that remind you of days gone past. NO CELL PHONE OR INTERNET CONNECTIONS HERE , THANKFULLY , BUT A HARD LINE IS AVAILABLE. Yet the house has many convienances.The kitchen is huge with stools and a nice size table that opens unto the deck with chairs and outdoor grill. Great place to read a book , scipture or have a pleasant conversation with the sound of many waters. Their is a Fire pit for the evening that beckons for a good late evening cup of coffee or coco.The rooms are spacious and bedding that is comfortable.Up and Downstairs bathroms for those long Hollywood showers you've desired. Theirs even a washer and dryer for those outfits you want to wear more then once. Also their are two ponds and yes their are fish in them for we caught them and threw them back... First thing you do weather permitting open all the widows and take in the Fresh air. Just remember your in the montians, here you will see Turkeys , Huge deer even a 10pt and BEARS. YAP, walking down the road 100 yards from the cabin. If you are looking for alot to do,your looking in the wong place.But if Peace and Quite to reconnect with the outdoors or to re connect as a Family you won you won't be disappointed.See Ya Next Year !

Great place to unwind.

Quiet, semi-secluded with a nice firepit and supply of wood. The paint creek is beautiful, with safe entry access across the property. The decks and porch give you comfortable choices, and the outdoor grill is in great working order. Over-all a nice stay.

Amazing time at VML

We just returned from our week stay at VML. The rustic cabin is located on beautiful property with a creek flowing through it. Relaxing in the mornings sitting on the covered porch drinking a coffe and listening to the water was what we needed. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Even though there was no air conditioning, the celling fans kept us cool at night. Would highly recommend this property. Allan was a great host. Looking forward to our next stay at VML.

Out of the way location.

Great location for a get away with no cell or internet coverage at the cabin.Ma and PA restaurant was one of the friendliest I have ever encountered, food was pretty good also,just different from what I am used too.

Although I’ve lived all over the southeast, I’ve spent the last 25 years living in and around the Orlando area. When I was a kid, my grandparents had a summer home in Lake Toxaway, NC that we used to visit every year. That is where I fell in love with the mountains. I’ve always been the outdoor adventure type and that, coupled with my experiences as a youngster, has made owning a cabin in the mountains a lifelong dream. Though I’ve never actually lived there, when I drive up to the Smokys, it feels like I'm coming home.

One of the driving forces behind my purchase of this cabin is its close proximity to the Appalachian Trail. I’ve hiked numerous sections of the AT, and this area is one of my favorites. It is the perfect jumping off point for all kinds of outdoor activities. Whether it’s fly fishing Little Laurel Creek (2 miles), kayaking the Nolichucky (9 miles), hiking the AT (1 mile), bouldering at Blackstack Cliffs (8 miles), biking the Paint Creek Trails (7 miles), or having a picnic at 4400’ in Jones Meadow (7 miles), adventure is just out the back door.

The cabin is situated nearly halfway between the quaint mountain town of Hot Springs, NC (15 miles) and the historic town of Greeneville, TN (18 miles). Although both offer adventure, relaxation, history, and culture, the best thing about Viking Mountain Lodge is the fact that you don’t even have to get in your car to find something to do. Fish for trout in the creek that runs through the front yard, go for a day hike on the AT, bike along Paint Creek up Viking Mountain Road, or grill out on the deck and enjoy the cool, clean mountain air. On a clear night, walk out the garage and look at the sky, it’s spectacular.
