Charming Cottage in the Foothills with Additional Parking

The 905 Cottage is a cozy 800 Square Foot space that was redesigned in the Spring of 2021 specifically for the best experiences in mind, while making the best use of the available space. Should you be traveling in tow, this is the place for you!

It is a quaint and relaxing two bedroom, one bath cottage in Morganton. Close to a small park, downtown, shopping, Mimosa Hills Golf (2.8 miles), I-40, Hickory (30 min), and Asheville (55 min).
Near hiking trails, river kayaking, wineries, snow tubing, Fonta Flora, Table Rock, Linville Falls, Linville Gorge, Lake James, Wilson Creek, the OHV, Blue Ridge Parkway, Brown Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, and many more attractions.

It features a covered front porch with deck and seating for two to enjoy your morning coffee, which is provided. Recently (April 2022) new composite floors on the back decks, outside patio furniture, and an outdoor fire pit surrounded by 4 Adirondack chairs perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine to star gaze. 2023 we fenced in behind the deck to add privacy.

The home is completely renovated and updated, with some original home features retained. Original front door (when it was a business space) and original hardwood floors (refinished).

Although we may not be ADA compliant, our accommodations are not only perfect for the elderly, but also suitable for individuals who are unable to climb steps. There are no steps leading to or within the house, making it easily accessible for everyone.

The fully functioning kitchen has concrete countertops, a four burner stove, full size microwave, refrigerator/top freezer, compact dishwasher and fully stocked with everything you would need such as dual Keurig coffee maker, hand mixer, mini crockpot, toaster, dishwasher, pots, pans, glasses, dishes, utensils and more, just bring your food!

A new tankless water heater was installed to secure you would never run out of hot water. Need to wash your clothes before returning home, no problem. There is a new full size front load washer and dryer for your convenience providing liquid soap and dryer sheets for you.

Toiletry and paper products starter pack provided. Bedding and towels for the house are also provided. Beds include one queen bed in bedroom 1 (2023 mattress) and one double/full bed in bedroom 2, both of which have ceiling fans for added cooling.

There is ample parking no matter what you are towing. With host approval, we can accommodate with additional parking in the gravel lot beside the cottage.

We are meticulous with deep cleaning after each guest, and value our own travel experiences to ensure we deliver a clean stay for you to enjoy. Should you want a mid-stay cleaning, that option is available with inquiry.

We are a retired couple who live local in Morganton. David is a retired Career U.S. Navy sailor, and CEO of SHOUFR. Rebecca is a volunteer firefighter/EMT. We met in 2010 in Savannah and that was all she wrote. We have 5 children and enjoy family time together.

Rebecca saw this home and immediately fell in love with it. It had great neighbors, was convenient to town and she saw it as a project. She put alot of sweat and hours into making it a home from a coffee shop.
