Restful High Desert Getaway

In our High Desert community, the air is clean, the skies are clear, and the western stars are shinning bright...
California City is centrally located to various choice destinations: about 3 hrs to Las Vegas or Mammoth, 1.5 hrs to Lonepine, less than 2 hours to LA...
Our very local best: fishing in the Kern River, off-road sport in the desert, shopping at the Barstow Outlets, gambling in Rosamond, encounters with desert tortoises in their preserved habitat... and experiencing the Wasteland Weekend annual festival in the fall...

Of course, some of you will come to our area for business, as we are close to Edwards AFB, Borax mines, and in the middle of new agricultural and green energy developments... We even have turned one of the bedroom into a "zoom room" for those who are taking their work on the road!!

We have it all! Come for a week or longer.

Let's start with the most important feature in our desert town : we have worked really hard to make sure our place will shelter you from the punishing heat of our summers and the biting cold of our winters!  Every bedroom has its own adjustable and silent minisplit, as does the living area.  Two gas furnaces provide additional heat when needed.   And don't worry about your carbon footprint: the house is powered by solar panels with a Firewall.

Now, let's tour the house. It welcomes you into its central open leaving room. The dining table seats up to 8 guests.
The kitchen is equipped with double door fridge and dish-washer. The master bedroom is on the West wing of the house, with its private bathroom and walk-in closet. All three other bedrooms are on the East wing.
All bedrooms have hardwood flooring, and thermal curtains, to shield you from the desert extreme temperatures and protect your sleep from tour bright morning light! The rest of the house is fully tiled.

From the living room, you can step out in a fully fenced backyard, with a variety of mature fruit trees. A sturdy set of benches and table with a large umbrella invite you to enjoy the gas BBQ.
