COTTAGE IN THE GARDEN - New! Modern!
Find beauty, privacy and comfort in this special home in one of San Diego's most desirable areas! Flowering bushes, plants, olive tree and fruit trees seen from all windows. All amenities: WiFi, Cable, serving dishes and tableware, full coffee bar, Ninja Blender, Flat screen TVs, Boll and Branch Sheets (used by 3 Presidents), Japanese Toilette and more. 15 minutes to Downtown San Diego and 20 minutes to the beach!

The space
We will share our bounty with you in season - oranges, persimmons, figs, pomegranates and Meyer lemons! Beautiful walking area in the hills surrounding the cottage - Enjoy the quiet if you are here to work, the comfort if you are vacationing and the extra amenities. Are you a coffee lover like us? We have a full coffee bar of Mr. Coffee, French Press and Chemex with a gooseneck kettle for pour over. Fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, silverware, iron skillets, waffle maker, toaster, hand mixer, Ninja, serving dishes and more. Spice drawer with a great selection including condiments.

This cozy cottage is well laid out plenty of room. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed for full dining experience. Nice self contained entry closet, laundry room and full bathroom added to the neat and tidy look of the living space. Hosts, Barb and Gary, were delightful and very accommodating. We plan to return to this amazing jewel

Barb's little garden Bungalow is a very nice and peaceful place to stay... The bungalow was quite big and spacious... you can walk around freely without feeling crowded... The bed was also very comfortable ... Good sunlight comes into the room, which makes it feel fresh.... laundry on premises was a great plus!! Outside, the garden is very green and well-kept... you can sit there with coffee and enjoy the calm... It’s very peaceful, not much noise around...Also conveniently located to shops, restaurants, and it was so easy to jump on the main highway to get to our son's house.Overall, Barb's Bungalow was such a great little get away.. we plan to stay there again!

Such a great little place stayed with my husband and daughter. There was plenty of room for us and it was very comfortable. The hosts were very kind as well, I highly recommend this cottage!

Outstanding and very thoughtful hosts. All of the comforts of home are provided, along with added treats, coffee and drinks. Great location for us. Cannot think of one negative thing to say...it was a pleasure to stay there.

Perfect Place for a Getaway

My wife and I decided to visit the San Diego area for an early anniversary celebration and our stay at the Cottage in the Garden couldn’t have been better. Everything was as advertised and our hosts were not only friendly, but very gracious and accommodating. Should we visit the area again, we will definitely look to book another stay.

We had a lovely Labor Day weekend stay while in town to attend a festival. The cottage was easy to find, and clear, welcoming instructions helped us access the place and get acquainted with the many amenities. It was a cool, comfortable retreat during a busy, hot weekend.The hosts were friendly and responsive, and we are looking forward to returning.

Super convenient stay in a lovely property

Very convenient located property. The casita is perfect for two people and is tastefully decorated. We enjoyed morning coffee on the patio while watching the hummingbirds in the yard.

Cottage Review

This property was definitely designed with relaxation in mind. The location is safe and secure and after a long road trip or whatever your travels are it feels good retreating back to this place. The place was actually larger than it looks on the photos along with the backyard which really gives the place an added comfort. Looking forward to our next visit.

The hosts were so extremely thoughtful. On my arrival there was bottled water, a bottle of wine, fresh baked cookies.! they had thought of everything. The bed was delightfully, comfortable, and the surrounding gardens and windows made it a pure pleasure. I travel constantly, and I have never been in a more wonderful spot. Plus they left me coffee beans to grind with about six different ways to make the coffee were available.

Great host!

The garden cottage was inviting, clean, and comfortable. I love the modern look, the beautiful garden in the back, and the very close accessible highway. Barb is by far the best host that I have ever had with VRBO. Thanks for having us, we will surely stay at the garden cottage again the next time we are in town!

We had a fantastic time at Barb and Gary‘s cottage in the garden! All the special touches with treats, wine, filtered water, bottle of water for such a nice surprise and very much appreciated. They were very helpful with our questions and everything that’s above and beyond our expectations.

Will stay here again

Only reason location isn’t 5 star is because it was tricky to back out onto the main road. There’s nothing that can be done about it and everything else was perfect! I’ll be staying here again when I visit my kids.

The Cottage in the Garden was the perfect spot for my stay. The bed was comfortable, and the cottage had everything I needed. I truly enjoyed sitting on the back porch with my cup of coffee, while watching the beauty of nature in the backyard.Barb and Gary were the perfect hosts. All of the amenities were exceptional; from the motion-sensored light in the bathroom to the beautiful concrete counters, nothing was overlooked.I hope to stay here again next time I'm in the area! Don't miss out on this quaint oasis in the midst of suburbia.

Fantastic Stay

The Cottage in the Garden was a great choice for our vacation in San Diego. It is a unique, modern, cool, and homey place that we called home. It has everything that one could ask for. The hosts have considered every detail...right down to warm chocolate chip cookies and a bottle of wine to greet you upon arrival. I am VERY picky in selecting where my family stays. This is a FANTASTIC place to stay. Consider this place for your next stay!
