Luxury Mountain Home with wonderful view of Whiteside mountain and hot tub !

Enjoy big mountain views of Whiteside Mountain at our spacious and secluded home just minutes from Cashiers and Highlands. Situated on 3 acres, our home has 3600 sq feet of decorated interior space, plenty of outdoor enjoyment spaces with upper and lower decks and a spacious screened porch for lounging and dining. Under 4 miles to Cashiers and 10 miles to Highlands, you are perfectly situated to experience the best of both worlds. NEW HOT TUB RECENTLY INSTALLED!

We have paid every attention to detail in the home, having just put in new hardwood flooring in bedrooms, renovated 4 bathrooms, and have meticulously decorated every inch of the home with a mix of high-end furnishings, including English and French antiques, some brought straight from France, where one of us is from! All custom textiles in each room keeping with a traditional mountain elegance feel. Brand new hardscaping and landscaping just completed with the renowned local landscape artist Mary Palmer Dargan adds perfect sophistication to the home and welcomes you when you arrive.

The house boasts 5 very large bedrooms, 3 with king beds, all with private en suite marble and stone bathrooms. The bedrooms all offer luxury bedding – Peacock Alley, Sferra, Pottery Barn – for that luxury hotel feel, and coordinated impeccable décor with custom window treatments and textiles in each room.

Our Chef's kitchen will inspire those who cook and be admired by those who prefer to dine out. Dining for 12 or more at our expandable table in the dining room or step outside on the screened porch and dine with 6. The kitchen offers new quartz counters, stainless appliances, 5 burner Kitchen Aid range, every pot/pan/gadget you can think of and plenty of dishware, serveware and silverware for large groups. Complementary coffee and tea. Outdoor you will find a brand new Napeleon 5 burner grill.

The home has satellite internet and Sling, YouTube, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. Please note that this is the mountains and cell service and internet is very spotty! Cashiers is a small mountain town. You will not get fiber speeds that you are likely used to at home, so we encourage you to do what we do - unplug and relax!!

Our hosts were amazing. The communication was great and we knew exactly what to expect of the house for our stay. The house was perfect for our large extended family. We loved how big the bedrooms were and the bunkroom was lots of fun for the kids. The kitchen was very well stocked for family meals around the massive dining table. We had a roaring fire each night in the livingroom with lights dimmed and music streaming on the TV to wind down from the activities of the day. We will absolutely look to book this fantastic property again! Highly recommend.

Weekend getaway for five couples

Wedding at High Hampton

The house was as beautiful as the pictures showed. The location was excellent. The mountain views were great. The owner, Sebastien, was meticulous and very helpful. Cashiers is only a few minutes away with plenty of nearby hikes. Everyone in my group loved it. I highly recommend it!

Better than the pictures

This house and these hosts were top notch. The photos do not do this gorgeous property justice. They put so much thought into the house, from stocking the kitchen with all necessary dishes and cookware, to the decor, cozy blankets and even leaving a hand written note with a bottle of wine to welcome us. They were quick to respond about questions prior to the trip as well as during our stay and gave great recommendations. Not only was the inside of the house stunning but the view was unbeatable. We hope to take another trip in the future to enjoy this space. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

We were amazed with how spacious this house was - even compared to the pictures! The beds were extremely comfortable. My sister even asked for the mattress brand so she could buy the same one. The house has everything you need for cooking, showering, sleeping, etc. Loved the porch spaces for hanging out. Most importantly, I have never had more communicative and attentive hosts! Lauren & Sèb sent us info on the house and area before check-in. They were also responding immediately to any questions we had during our stay. A must-stay for sure!

Better than the pictures!

We have been renting homes in the mountains of NC for years. This was our 7th rental — and the best one! Every positive review is true, every picture better in real life than it looks on your screen, and our expectations were exceeded. The beds were the best we’ve had in a VRBO, and the home could not have been better appointed in decor or thoughtful details. The location was extremely convenient to Cashiers and Highlands and wonderful trails. Communicating with Sebastien was a pleasure. He was always kind and very responsive. We are already planning our return and cannot recommend highly enough!

To future renters, this will exceed your expectations, period. The pictures don’t come close to the real beauty of the house. Everything about the property screams class and luxury. The owners have gone out of their way to think of everything and have spared no expense in making this property feel like a 5 star hotel. Awesome House

House is just as described. Big, beautiful and oh so clean! Four couples stayed for a birthday weekend. Men golfed nearby and we ladies shopped in both Highlands and Cashiers. The view was amazing and the screened porch was everything. We ate dinner on the porch two nights and had a formal dinner inside in the third. Beds are comfy and linens are luxurious. Sebastien and Lauren were the best hosts. They were very accessible and answered all of our questions promptly. They truly seemed happy to have us there. We had a fabulous time. Rent this house! You’ll be happy you did!

Excellent Family Stay - Beautiful Home!

Sebastian was a fantastic host, and made our week away in the mountains a luxurious and wonderful stay for our family - with children and grandchildren (14 in total). I’m not sure where exactly to start, but from the very beginning we felt welcomed by our wonderful host. The view was breathtaking, and the accommodations were great in every way. From the wonderful porches, to the spacious den, the fantastic kitchen, and the comfortable bedroom linens - the house was nothing short of incredible! Conveniently located 5-10 min from downtown Cashiers, and about 20 minutes to Highlands, the location was great for our group. We enjoyed day trips to sliding rock (2-3 min), Whitewater/Silver Run Falls (15-20 min), and went into town frequently. While the location was convenient, we also felt totally secluded when back home. 5 STARS. Would recommend and definitely stay again!

Beautiful home with great view

The house is beautiful and clean. Very spacious and the barbecue, fireplace and fire pit was very nice to use. The WiFi is terrible to nonexistent in the house. We were not able to watch television or use our computers or cellphone to receive calls or text messages. The area only has Verizon service so if you have ATT or Sprint you will have a problem. That information is not stated in the Vrbo description of the house.

Thank you for your review. We are a bit surprised to see a comment regarding the wifi not working as we personally work from the house including having Zoom meetings on a regular basis. It would have been great to hear about this issue while you were there as we feel confident we could have solved it. We also have a hot spot as a back up for our guests to use at their convenience. The TV connection has been fixed and works with no problem. We encourage our guests to let us know as soon as possible if they have issues, we are very responsive and always try to find a solution to accommodate our guests. Perfect for our family reunion

Perfect spot for our 14 person family reunion. 5 bedroons/baths accomodated us comfortably. The large deck and screened porch provided a convenient place for us to gather while enjoying the majestic Whiteside Mountain. Set up a bean bag game on the deck. Ktchen was large, modern and well stocked. Beds were amazingly comfortable. Sebastien was always accessible for questions. Two things I shared with Sabastien that could make the experience even better was to provide an information binder with all the operating details of the home in one place rather that texts and to light the stone walkway down to the firepit. Very steep and dark at night. Minor points compared to all this lovely home and owner offers.

We had a 5 Star stay at the Luxury Mountain Home from the moment we drove into the driveway! This house is beautifully landscaped, furnished and appointed, and everything that one could possibly need is provided . As you walk in the door , the majestic view of Whiteside mountain through the wall of glass doors to the rear greets you. The screened in porch was the perfect place for the little ones to gather, especially in the early morning to play while others slept . Bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds and luxurious sheets which are much anticipated after days of hiking, riding horses, and the myriad of outdoor activities within a few miles of the home.We have stayed in so many VRBO homes that provided nothing in the way of kitchen and bathroom necessities but not so with this home . The kitchen is stocked with all that is needed for cooking, including spices and cleaning supplies .The bathrooms graciously have hand soap and lotion provided.The house is located a short drive from Cashiers and many of the favorite destination trails like Cashiers sliding rock and Whiteside mountain trail. The owners aim to provide their guests with a 5 star experience and they succeed in every way . We were even greeted with a bottle of wine and a welcome note upon our arrival ! They are quick to address questions and any issue that may arise during your stay .

HOST CONFIRMED BED BUGS. I WOULD NOT STAY HERE.We stayed with another family for 4 nights. Our initial impressions were good. HOWEVER, 2 days after returning home, 5 of the 8 members of our party began experiencing symptoms consistent with bed bugs. Those 5 affected guests slept in 4 different bedrooms. The moment we figured out the bites may be bed bugs, I reported the issue to the host, Sebastien. He confirmed in writing later that day that his cleaning crew found adult bed bugs in at least two of the bedrooms (one of the bedrooms upstairs and the bunk room). We were very concerned the bed bugs may have hitchhiked from this VRBO to our homes—our luggage was in our bedrooms for 3 days prior to us realizing it was bed bugs. At the recommendation of our exterminator, we got professional preventative treatment; the total cost to treat our 2 homes was 2,200.Sebastien initially offered us a 10% refund, but that did not cover our out-of-pocket costs. I provided him with sworn affidavits from me and the other family confirming that 1) we have never had bed bugs in our home, 2) the pest control technicians found no evidence of bed bug activity in our homes, and 3) the reason we had our homes treated was purely preventative. I asked Sebastien to reimburse us the cost of the preventative exterminator treatments. He did not respond. I would never stay here again, even if it was free of charge—Sebastien stated in writing that his wife attempted to remediate the issue herself.

We take the cleanliness and condition of our home extremely seriously, so when Brent contacted us after his departure, we immediately took his concerns seriously and investigated. Following his stay, we conducted a thorough inspection of all bedrooms, beds and mattresses and found no evidence of bed bugs anywhere in the home. Nevertheless, out of an abundance of caution, we carried out a precautionary treatment to ensure the continued comfort and safety of our guests. We would also like to clarify that we did not have any indication of a bed bug problem prior to this stay. We had guests immediately before Brent’s visit, and our home has remained fully booked with several extended stays since his departure. Not one guest before or since has reported bed bugs or any similar issue. Given this history and the lack of evidence found in our home, we do not believe there is evidence establishing our property as the source of the symptoms reported by Brent’s party after they returned home. We therefore feel that the statement that we “confirmed” a bed bug infestation at our home does not accurately represent the situation or the findings of our inspection. We have been proud Superhosts for several years and take great pride in providing an exceptional, clean and well-maintained home together with attentive service to our guests. Our many positive reviews and the experiences of the guests who have stayed both before and after this reservation reflect the standards we work very hard to maintain. We regret that Brent and his family had this experience, but we stand behind the cleanliness and quality of our home and the way we responded promptly and responsibly when his concerns were brought to our attention.
