Beautiful, well-appointed property; the host was very attentive, responsive, and flexible. My family and I stayed here for my daughter’s wedding at Board and Batten, and the location was perfect—only 15 minutes away from the venue.

Was in town for a wedding-house was and stay was awesome!! Would definitely stay here again. Only thing I would suggest is to maybe provide additional blankets.

We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. We loved the location and the view of the lake. We were able to dock 2 boats - which made using our boats on the lake very convenient.

Prefect week stay on lake

We came down to get out of the cold and do some fishing. Great place right on the lake, very clean and comfortable.

We had an excellent time, the house was clean and the owner was very kind to check on us from time to time and see how we were doing. If I needed to communicate with the owner he was very prompt to respond. The game room was a very nice place to hang out. I would definitely recommend this house!!

Great weekend at the Lake

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Lake. The house had great indoor and outdoor spaces roomy enough for the whole family. The hot tub and game room were lots of fun. The kitchen met all our needs. The host was responsive to any questions. Our weekend was enjoyed by all.

Wonderful family stay, but the listing and property need attention

We had a wonderful family weekend at this home and made some really great memories together. The house is spacious and the three-level layout worked very well for our large family, giving everyone room to spread out without feeling crowded. The beds were comfortable, the AC worked very well, and the house provided a great setting for family time.There are, however, some things future guests should be aware of. We felt that portions of the listing and photos were somewhat misleading. The photos make the backyard and lake access appear much more level and accessible than they are. There are 30+ steps down to the lake, which would have been helpful to know in advance. The home is also situated in a cove, and during our stay the water was quite murky, so swimming and floating in the lake were not really options for us. The photos gave us a different expectation of the waterfront experience.The game room was also not as pictured. The listing shows a very nice game area with ping pong, foosball, air hockey, and basketball, but the garage door was not working, and the ping pong and foosball tables were broken and unusable. The piano is pictured as well, but a note on it states that it is not available for use.There were also a number of maintenance issues throughout the home, including a refrigerator/freezer that was not maintaining temperatures properly, a broken ice maker, a nonfunctioning range hood, several doors that did not latch properly, a downstairs bathroom exhaust fan that did not work, and a downstairs sliding glass door that was not functioning properly. At first glance the house appeared clean, but then we started noticing cobwebs throughout the house as well. We truly did have a great stay because of the time we were able to spend together, and the house itself gave us plenty of space to enjoy that time. We loved playing shuffle board, it was a big hit! We simply feel that, given the cost of the rental, the listing should more accurately represent the current condition, amenities, and lake access, and that the maintenance issues deserve attention.With some repairs and updates to the listing photos and description, this could be a wonderful property for future guests.

Lovely lake

The house was lovely. Lots of rooms, comfortable beds, a nicely appointed kitchen games to keep everyone entertained. The kids loved sitting in the deck talking to the wee hours and we all enjoyed floating in the water. The water was WARM… it was clear it hadn’t rained in a while because the water was low, but we enjoyed it thoroughly.

Everything was great. The hot tub was not very hot and we had to turn up to warm up before using and wait a few hours. My suggestions for future use is to have that already nice and warm for use. House and property was fantastic! So much to do for everyone - great for family and friends to hang out.

Overall, the property actually has potential. We were surprised that there are 52 steps from the house down to the lake. There weren’t any pictures showing that and it’s quite a hike. Additionally, although it mentions that you can rent a boat or bring a boat, you cannot put your boat in the water at the property. The back hill is far too steep. The public boat ramp is 15 minutes away, where you can put your boat in. That was a huge inconvenience to us. We actually found a neighbor who let us use his ramp to put in.Additionally, many many things around the property are in disrepair. When I texted the host, he was aware of them. Were not offered any money back or any compensation for the state of disrepair. The kitchen is not equipped for someone to cook there for an entire week. It was missing many supplies. We stay in many VRBO rentals, this Home provided the least amount of basic supplies to get us started. They don’t provide any coffee or any supplies other than two rolls of toilet paper for restroom. We also only had 12 towels to work with for a large group of people they gave us a few tide pods to wash with in case we needed to refresh our towels halfway through the week. The stove top vent is broken we were told if we needed to Cooke to open a window. The inside of the oven is. Horrifically disgusting. It has not been cleaned ever the sheet pan looked the same way the sliding glass door to the basement was broken, ping pong table broken, pontoon and the list goes on.

Lovely Lakehouse

The house has gorgeous views, is open with many rooms and beds. Our guys enjoyed the game room. Bring your own firewood and propane if you want to use the outdoor fire pits.

Put slip covers on the couches if they are so concerned..Why they would buy white couches and put them right next to the kitchen table? The doors need to be readjusted…the master door would stick and cause the horrible sound trying to open it.Was lovely other than that.

This house was ok but the cleanliness left a bit to be desired. There were stained bed linens and a smell when you walked in. There was no internet or cell service. It is not great if you want to communicate with the outside world. There was also dead birds and a horrible smell outside so hanging out on the back deck area was not possible.

This was a new rental in the last year and a few things to learn. Owners did a nice job with the remodel. White furniture is not conducive to children( we covered the furniture with beach towels!). Kitchen needs some supplies that I am sure will be added at some point. Nice deck and downstairs covered area. The lake and dock was very disappointing. We had kids and planned the week swimming in the lake. Water was murky which could have been from recent weather, not sure about that. No ladder to get in and out and no boat tie ups for our pontoon boat. If you are going there to fish, you would be ok.

Overall, very clean on the inside. Host responded back to questions quickly only had two issues. There were multiple wasps nests and spiderwebs on the house everywhere. We could not enjoy the deck. And since it’s summer in North Carolina, the game room, which is in the garage and no air conditioner was not usable since the temperature was well above 100.

Host was responsive when questions were asked. House was clean - although all the towels were in the dryer not folded upon our arrival, front/rear yard unkept/not usable with weeds up to knees. Appliances in need of updates - freezer doesn't make ice, stove vent doesn't work, Drip/Keurig coffee machine didn't work. On deck, loose rails that could pose hazard to small children.
