This private waterfront wellness retreat on beautiful Salt Spring Island is situated only 5 minutes from town and only 1 minute from the Long Harbour ferry terminal (departing from Vancouver/Lower Mainland). Our home is a cozy and rustic 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom home that is tucked into one of the island’s most sought-after neighbourhoods—and offers a truly unique experience and a set of amenities you won’t find anywhere else.

Start your day with a sunrise swim against the current in the heated swim spa, unwind in the wood-fired sauna, or warm up in the oceanfront hot tub perched right above the water. Afterward, take the plunge—literally—off your private dock into the Salish Sea.

The spacious south-facing deck is drenched in sunshine all day long, making it perfect for lounging, tanning, or sunset watching well into the spring and fall months thanks to the warmth of the bay.

Inside, the home features three bedrooms (two king beds and one queen) and three bathrooms, a well-equipped rustic kitchen, and warm wood accents throughout that give it an inviting, cabin-style feel. It’s the perfect blend of nature, comfort, and rejuvenation.

The property is situated on 1.5 acres and is very peaceful, private, relaxing, and surrounded by nature, trees, and birds. The whole property is completely fenced in if you would like to bring your pups.

Don't want to drive on the ferry or bring a car over from Vancouver/Lower Mainland? Simply park your car in Tsawwassen at the Park & Ride or the BC Ferry terminal parking lot, walk-on the ferry to Long Harbour, and walk-off only 5 minutes to the property. Have a boat and want to boat over to Salt Spring instead? No problem, park your boat on our private dock!

Guest access: Guests will have access to the whole home and property during their stay.

Interaction with guests: I live in the home most of the year, but during the high season, I stay in the RV that is parked on the property. During bookings though, I stay with my partner so that the guests can have complete privacy. However, I will always be close by to attend to guests needs and concerns.

***Good to Know Before Booking

We love this property and want every guest to arrive knowing exactly what to expect. Our home is a unique, rustic waterfront retreat rather than a traditional hotel or polished resort. It is an older home that has been lived in by our family and dogs for the past few years, but we have put in countless hours renovating and cleaning the home and property for guests. Please take a moment to read the following before booking.

Check-in is at 4pm
Check-out is at 11am

Early check-ins are available upon request, but cannot be confirmed/granted until the day of check-in. In July/August, early check-ins are usually not possible due to a tight turn around time and a large property/house to clean and prepare inside and out. Please be aware that if you are running late, our cleaners will be arriving right after 11am to allow us enough time to clean and prepare for the next guests.

Pets:
-Pet fee: $50/pet (2 med-large dogs max or 3 small dogs max)
- You must notify us if you will be bringing a dog(s) and they MUST stay off of all beds and furnishings and our of the pool. If excessive dog hair is found throughout the house and in the sheets etc, a cleaning fee of $75-150 will be charged to the guest to cover additional cleaning time. There is a vacuum located at the house to avoid this additional charge.

- Only the guests included on the reservation (max 6) are allowed on the property unless permission is granted otherwise
- No parties or excessive noise
- No smoking

Hot tub update: Our oceanfront hot tub is fully heated and available for soaking, but the jets have recently stopped functioning. We have not yet been able to resolve the issue. You can still enjoy a warm soak overlooking the ocean and under the stars, but the hot tub currently does not have functioning massage jets. Please take this into consideration before booking if jets are an important part of your stay.

Oven warning: our gas lit oven does not get super hot or reach above 300-350 degrees so please take this into account when planning meals at home.

Accessibility & property access: The home is situated down the slope of our waterfront property, with approximately 30 outdoor steps from the main parking area to the front entrance. This may be challenging for guests with limited mobility.

There is a small parking area much closer to the house that can accommodate one vehicle when necessary; however, the driveway is very steep, the turnaround at the bottom is tight, and maneuvering requires a careful multi-point turn or backing down the driveway. For this reason, we generally recommend using the upper parking area and stairs. The lower parking area is best suited to confident, experienced drivers with an SUV or 4WD vehicle and can be helpful for guests with mobility limitations or when unloading heavy luggage. Detailed access instructions will be provided before arrival.

A natural, lived-in property: This is our primary home and property, which we share with guests when we are away. While the waterfront areas surrounding the house, decks, hot tub, swim spa and sauna are beautiful and peaceful, please know that the entire 1.5-acre property is not a manicured resort-style estate.

There are some functional and lived-in areas elsewhere on the property, including an RV, two storage containers, a greenhouse, garden tools, personal belongings, and components of our water system, including some visible hookups and extension cords near the entrance gate. These areas are separate from the spaces guests typically enjoy and not very noticeable. We mention this simply because we would rather have guests pleasantly surprised than arrive expecting a perfectly landscaped resort property.

Rustic character meets luxury amenities: Our home is best described as a cozy, rustic West Coast home with some incredible luxury wellness amenities — not a pristine, newly built luxury hotel. As a well-loved primary residence and vacation rental, some furnishings and finishes show normal signs of use, and you may notice the occasional imperfection.

If you're looking for a perfectly polished, ultra-modern, hotel-style experience where every finish and furnishing is immaculate, our home may not be the right fit. If you're looking for character, privacy, incredible oceanfront surroundings, cozy fires by the water, sunsets, starry-night hot tub soaks, a wood-fired sauna, heated swim spa and the opportunity to make some magical and unforgettable memories, we think you'll love it here!
