Our stay started off great and smooth and then after a few days started to go downhill. The communication with the property owner was great at the beginning. We ran into a clogging problem with the shower upon arrival that was immediately fixed once we called the caregiver of the property. However, about two days later we noticed that the downstairs area (kitchen, living room, dining room) started to become infested with ants and spiders. When making the caregiving aware of the bug problem, he sent back a rude message asking us why we hadn’t told him earlier and seemed irritated that he would have to come back out to the property after already having to come fix a separate problem. He also insinuated that it could’ve been food and drinks that we left out. This I really didn’t appreciate considering the fact that we were very diligent about not leaving any food or drinks out (this is not our first time in Florida, we know how the bugs operate here) and we pride ourselves on being very clean. When I talked to the property owner about this response, he seemed defensive and told me that they had never had this issue before and that the resort HOA regularly had the property sprayed. It just really seemed like our concerns weren’t being answered and that instead it seemed like the blame for the bugs were being placed on us. So, if you’re the type of person who wants your concerns answered without it being made out to be your fault, I would choose somewhere else to stay.
