The Raven Haven Loft w/ Majestic Views and Nearby Neighbourhood Beaches

Custom built in 2024, the Raven Haven Loft offers 500 sq ft of living space. A 110 sq ft balcony provides a stunning 180-degree view of the Salish Sea and majestic Pacific Coast Mountains. The generous balcony, ample natural lighting and vaulted cedar ceilings offer an intimate Northwest experience. During your stay, you may be fortunate to see humpbacks and orcas passing through or eagles sparring with tangled talons.

The space
Enjoy winding down from a memorable day on the balcony by watching a majestic sunset or starry night and retiring in the comfy queen-sized bed.

The Scandinavian leather sofa and deck furnishings are excellent viewing areas so you won’t miss out on that potential whale tail slap or raven call.

Abundant outdoor opportunities are minutes away. Enjoy a stroll at Neck Point, Piper’s Lagoon or Linley Valley. For a splash try kayaking, paddle boarding, or free diving at Rocky Point, Departure Bay or Lantzville. Extensive mountain biking trails, scuba diving, fishing, sailing and whale-watching excursions are readily accessible.

Numerous wineries, ginneries and breweries, museums, theatres, artisan shops and farmer’s markets are located within Nanaimo and the surrounding area.

Other things to note
• Unfortunately the loft does not cater to children under 12 years old unless prior arrangements have been made
• Due to chronic allergies & severe asthma there are no pets, including service animals (Dr.'s order) allowed on the premises
• The loft is more suitable for two guests. However, it can accommodate four guests. Kindly note that the second bed is a sofa bed located in the living room
• Shared washer and dryer located downstairs in the clinic. This is available between 6 pm-10 pm. Directions on using this facility are on the rules and expectations QR code located on the dining table.
• There is one set of towels available for each guest unless it is a long-term stay
• There are three trash bins on the far right side of the house. (Blue bin=recyclables-no glass or plastic bags/ Black bin=nonreclables)
• Beach towels are available upon request
*Guest booked for 28 days + are required to do their own cleaning (ie: general cleaning such as vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting, and washing towels/linens).

House Rules/Expectations:
Amenities:

*Wi-Fi: Raven Haven - Password: SalishSea

*Fire Extinguishers: There are two. One is located under the kitchen sink. The other is in the bedroom closet.

*Complimentary coffee (in freezer), creamer, tea, popcorn, spices & cooking oil

*Washer/dryer: The code to enter the downstairs clinic is 1970. The washer and dryer are in the first room on the left. There are detergent pods underneath the sink. Please tidy up, turn off the lights & lock the door once you are finished. (Hours: Monday-Thursday, 6 pm onwards -- Friday-Sunday, anytime)

*Trash/Recycling: Bins are on the south side of the house. The City has clear instructions on top of each large bin (green, black & blue). The smaller green bins take glass, plastic bags and Styrofoam. Please, all recyclables must be cleaned!

*Sofa bed: If needed, retrieve the linens, blanket and pillows inside the bedroom closet. (To safely open the sofa bed, scan the QR code on the left side of the lamp in the living room)

*Beach towels are underneath the bathroom vanity.


Special Notes:

*4 guests maximum, no visitors

*Check-in: 3 pm, unless prior arrangements have been made

*Check-out: 11 am

*Quiet time: 10 pm to 8 am

*If the electronic lock doesn't work, there is a lock box on the side of the garage with a traditional key. The code for this lock box is 1755.

*Unfortunately, the loft does not cater to children under 12 years unless prior arrangements have been made.


General:

*Please be mindful. Keep the noise level to a minimum as the clinic is located below the loft.

*Be gentle with blinds

*Park only in the designated area

*Backyard use is not permitted

*Turn off lights after use

*Conserve water & electricity

*Do not rearrange furniture

*Do not clean fish or shellfish on the property

*Do not eat shellfish on the property

*Do not take anything out of the Raven Haven (ex: pillows, blankets, plates, cups, cutlery)

*Take all personal items with you (books, clothes, toiletries, food, etc.)

*Cleanliness: Please do not leave the Raven Haven in a state that requires excessive or deep cleaning. Cleaning fees are only meant to cover the cost of standard cleaning (laundry, vacuuming, etc)

*Guest booked for 28 days + are required to do their own cleaning (ie: general cleaning such as vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting, and washing towels/linens).



Kitchen:

*No metal utensils in cookware

*Fully rinse your dishes and place them in the dishwasher

*Hand wash pots and pans, but do not place them in the dishwasher

*Place the microwave cover over the food before cooking

*No food waste down the sink

*Clean up any standing water on the floor

*Clean and separate recyclables before putting them in the blue bin

*Turn on the vent while using the stove

*Turn off oven/stove after use



Bathroom:

*No excessive toilet paper in the toilet

*Only toilet paper is to be flushed down the toilet

*Dispose of condoms and tampons in a hygienic manner

*No foreign debris down the drains

*Hang towels on the rack hook/rack to dry, as there is only one set available per person for short-term stays

*Wipe up any standing water on the floor

*Use a squeegee on the glass door after showering



Bedroom/Living Room:

*Low volume on TV and music 24 hours/day

*No eating or drinking in the bedroom

*Dry hair before lying on pillows

*If you are wet, muddy and/or sweaty, please respect the beds and furniture

*Do not use ornamental pillows to sleep on

*Use the linens provided in the crate when sleeping on the sofa bed
