The place was amazing, better than the pictures. You can't beat being right by the beach. The staff took great care of us and made everything easy. Couldn't have asked for a better spot to stay

We've stayed at Villa Cristie for the past three years, and it just keeps getting better!Under the new ownership, the upgrades are fantastic, and you can't beat being right on the beach with our favorite restaurants just a short walk away. Already excited for next year's visit!

We had such a wonderful stay! The house was super clean, the staff was friendly, and the location made everything easy. Being right on the beach was amazing, the kids loved swimming and paddle boarding, and there were plenty of beach toys to use. Honestly, the place was even better than the pictures. We’re so grateful for the experience!

We had an incredible stay at this home in Costa Rica! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had every amenity we needed for a comfortable and relaxing vacation.The location was perfect—close enough to beaches, restaurants, and activities, yet private enough to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Waking up to the tropical scenery and wildlife each morning was unforgettable.The outdoor space was a highlight. Whether relaxing by the pool, enjoying coffee on the patio, or watching the sunset in the evenings, every moment felt like paradise.The hosts were exceptional—friendly, responsive, and full of great local recommendations that made our trip even more memorable. Javi, Erica and Glenda were phenomenal. This trip would not have been the same without Javi. Every recommendation Javi made was 5 star. He went out of his way to assure our safety and timely arrival to reservations. If you book this house, I definitely recommend hiring Javi too! This house, this host and Javi will be the perfect vacation! We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Costa Rica. It truly made our vacation special and deserves every one of its five stars!

AMAZING Villa!

The property is exactly like the photos. We were a group of 14 adults everyone was happy with there room. All the rooms had there own bathrooms so no one had to share. The beds were all comfortable and there was plenty of space to unpack. The kitchen has 2 fridges which was very convenient we stocked one with beverages and the other with food. Kimberly was with us everyday and she was AMAZING! She made us the most delicious breakfast every morning, cleaned our rooms, had clean pool towels and did personal laundry for those that needed. She made our stay that much better. Dennis who was our driver twice was also amazing he pulled over when he spotted monkeys and let us get out and take photos. When we were at the house we spent our time in the pool or on the beach there was plenty of room for everyone to be around or in the pool. I highly recommend booking this home and would defiantly stay here again!

We just spent a week at this property with our family of 17 adults and kids of all ages and it exceeded our expectations in every way.The location was absolutely perfect. Being right on the beach with a beautiful pool gave our group the ideal setup for relaxing, playing, and spending quality time together. There was truly something for everyone. The layout worked wonderfully for a large group, and we never felt crowded.The amenities were fantastic and everything was well maintained. The staff was exceptional attentive, helpful, and genuinely kind which made our stay seamless from start to finish.We also felt completely safe in the community, which was important to us with so many kids.Honestly, the photos and listing description do not do this property justice. It offers far more than what you see online.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to other families or large groups looking for a special place to gather.

The house had great direct access to a quiet black sand beach that was not busy. Easy beach walk to two lovely restaurant/bars that could also be accessed using the family-sized golf cart. Close to grocery stores and easily driveable to busier white sand beaches. Surfing at Tamarindo about a 30 minute drive. The concierge arranged surfing lessons with a great instructor.The house has high-end finishes and multiple seating areas that easily accommodated our family of 11, including 3 children under 4 years of age. All the bedrooms were spacious with ensuite washrooms. 4 faced the ocean. The pool was nicely designed with easy access. Kitchen was well equipped and the housekeeper, Julia, was wonderful. The host and concierge were very responsive to inquiries. All together a great place for a quiet family beach vacation.

Just home from a fabulous family vacation @ Villa Cristie! Many bedrooms and a nice, private casita (me) to accommodate our group of 7 adults, 5 children, including a baby. Nice common living, dining and kitchen area, well equipped with 2 fridges. Lovely waterfront location with swimmable beach, although a little undertow. Beach within walking distance of restaurants and shops. For further distance, we used 6 person electric golf cart! eg groceries. Nice pool with lots of lounges and seating plus all kinds of floaties and toys to play with in the pool. Also a slip n’ slide, which our kids loved! Breakfast is prepared every morning by the wonderful housekeeper, Hulia, who also keeps things clean and tidy, very discreetly, during the day! The equally efficient, Kimberley, takes over on days off! The concierge, Ander, was helpful with arrangements when we wanted to go to an eco reserve and answering any questions that we had before leaving and when we were there. Thank u to Whitney @ Executive Retreats, also, for answering questions and helping us out with check-in!

I have thought long on this review, weeks after returning home. The house is well laid out and a good location for a family. However, had I known the following at time of rental (6 months before our stay), I would have selected another property.1. The home shook at high tide between 1-3am every night. Not every wave, but perhaps every 5th and hard enough for items to fall off the dresser. Night after night — this left us sleep deprived and exhausted at the end of our vacation. 2. On arrival we were asked to sign an agreement that prohibited anyone under 21 from driving the golf cart. This left our licensed teen drivers dependent on the adults for shopping and other activities. This should have been disclosed at the initial rental booking. 3. The concierge service overcharged for booked activities and did not refund the balance. We had to contact them daily for details on arrangements and times. I notified the owner representative that issues were arising before we arrived, however as she checked into my concerns she was told by the Costa Rica team they were resolved. They weren’t and unfortunately she didn’t follow up with me to confirm. Post stay, I commend the property owner for his call and desire to “make it right”. However I cannot get back that time with my family, and like you, I depend on these reviews for my travel. Beautiful house and lovely housekeeping team. But hardly turnkey, and failed to deliver the value expected for the 5-figure amount we paid.

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry your stay was impacted by circumstances that were far outside normal conditions. Your visit unfortunately coincided with a major tropical storm and ocean conditions we have not experienced in this area in nearly 20 years, with exceptionally high tides and surf approaching minor-hurricane conditions. This is not representative of normal conditions at the home. Regarding the golf carts, our insurance requires drivers to be 21 or older. This restriction is communicated in our guest information and pre-arrival process. Guests may also rent carts independently from local companies subject to their policies. We were also disappointed with the outside concierge service during your stay. Since then, we have brought our entire concierge operation in-house and no longer use that outside provider, giving us direct control over pricing, communication, and service. We appreciate your kind comments about the home and our housekeeping team. We take guest feedback seriously, and I personally reached out after your stay because providing an exceptional experience remains extremely important to us.

The house was fantastic and it was so great to have amenities like the golf cart and paddle boards available. The housekeeper was also lovely and great to have. Playa Flamingo was beautiful and peaceful. One of the reasons we chose that house, as a big group trying to maximize time together and not get overwhelmed with coordination was having so much available, including a concierge service. It was why we were willing to pay a substantially higher price than comparable homes, for amenities and to have high level service and low stress. Unfortunately that aspect did not prove true. The concierge service was not great at communication, slow to respond, and incomplete. So we ended up having numerous back and forth emails close to stay rather than well ahead, last minute confusion coordinating flights despite having sent that information prior, and one pick up at 5AM which had been confirmed but failed to happen, resulting in one guest and her young child who needed a carseat having to get an Uber with no carseat and got pulled over and ticketed. There were also discrepancies between some of the information on the listing and what the concierge says, so confirm everything important to you with the hosts (cost of airport transport, what constitutes a gym, check out time, etc). In general a nice stay but not worth the price given the disappointing service aspect, which was part of what we anticipated given the advertising and price point.
