I'm a huge foodie and spend a lot of my time exploring the city’s incredible cafés, restaurants, and bustling weekend markets—especially the ones along the waterfront where the food is as diverse as the people.
Having travelled through Asia, Europe, Australia, and the Pacific, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for different cultures and hospitality styles, which I bring into my hosting. My father is Dutch and my mother was originally from Christchurch, so I grew up with a blend of influences that shaped my welcoming nature. Whether you're looking for top spots to eat, hidden local gems, or want a personal recommendation, I’m always happy to help you make the most of your stay. Known as the home of The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit films, the city proudly embraces its title as “Wellywood.” Weta Workshop and Weta Digital—both based here—have contributed to some of the most iconic films of our time. You can even visit the studios or take a behind-the-scenes tour to see how the magic was made. As a local, I still get excited seeing spots around town that featured in the films or were part of the production journey. That sense of storytelling and cinematic wonder is woven into the city’s identity, and I absolutely love being a part of that atmosphere.
