Ocean View-Hobby Farm/New Build

Make some memories in this beautiful new home with family and your fury friends. Whether you're here to hit the slopes of Mount Washington, bike the trails of Cumberland, swim or fish in and around the serene waters of Georgia Strait this private 2025 newly built home will have you situated in the midst of it all. From the front of the home you have an ocean and mountain view, and in your back yard a small hobby farm with goats and chickens for your amusement and viewing.

This brand new 2025 built home has just been completed and outfitted with all brand new furnishings and decor. The home is located adjacent to our hobby farm with goats and chickens. There is a master bedroom with a smart tv and an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom is located beside the full bathroom (with a bathtub) down the hall. The open style well equipped kitchen is amazing for cooking meals with a large island for gathering with family or friends. The home also has an outdoor covered private patio with comfortable patio furniture, barbeque and a propane fire pit for you to enjoy. There is lots of parking on the premises and a carport for your convenience and storage during your stay.

Entertainment:

There are two smart tv's located in the home with Netflix, Disney Plus and Prime. There is also numerous board games and some local books to read on the surrounding area.

Pets:

There is a large yard on the property partially fenced to let guests and pets enjoy some outside time and exercise.

Location:

The home is located in Historic Union Bay which is only a 10 minute drive to Courtenay and only 40 minutes for snowboarding and skiing on Mount Washington. We are also located 10 minutes from the Buckley Bay ferry terminal if you want to explore Denman/Hornby Island and a 25 minute drive to the Comox Airport(YQQ)One security camera is located near the front entrance for security

Thank you for a wonderful stay. We visited for May long weekend explored Cumberland and went biking. It’s a great area to explore. Our dog had a great stay, the accommodation was super dog friendly, great yard space and very welcoming hosts. Thank you for an awesome stay!

A gem of a place. Had everything you could need or want, so well stocked. The place was roomy and very nicely done. We enjoyed the entire place and the location. The host was great with lots of attention to detail but still felt private and our own oasis.

A lovely place to stay. This home was exceptionally clean and cozy and stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Very dog friendly too! Loved the goats and chickens out back… and the fresh eggs that were left for us:)Great location to explore Cumberland bike trails (15 min away) and Denman and Hornby islands. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed for three nights with our two cats. The home was spotless, really well decorated and had everything that we needed for our stay. The hosts left a nice welcome basket with goodies in it and a delicious loaf of cheese bread and some farm fresh eggs. It was fun to watch the goats and the chickens at the back of the property. We would certainly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay! Everything exceeded our expectations. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, very comfortable and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. The host thoughtfully left us a welcome basket with snacks and fresh eggs and bread. An amazing little house in immaculate condition with all the facilities you could need. There are lots of thoughtful items dotted around the house - from herbs for cooking to games for children - that make it extra special. The goats and chickens are nice to have on site and our daughter really enjoyed seeing them. One thing to note is that the house is quite close to the main road and it is necessary to have a car. We couldn’t find any nearby access to the shoreline or public access to the forests near by. The hosts were very accommodating when we had a few friends over for an Easter egg hunt and kindly recommended an event at the local community hall for our daughter. Overall a very nice place to stay and much better presented than most four star hotels. Very nice hosts.

What didn't we like? Property is brand new and really well designed. A lot of care has gone into the details, from bedding to kitchen equipment, to a work space, outdoor area with BbQ, seating and hammock between two trees. Owners, Megan and Rodney left us a lovely welcome basket and treat in the fridge. They have a great welcome book with ideas on what to do nearby, we did almost all of them, including a nearby ocean walk and Coombs Market & Wildlife Refuge. Our grandaughter loved the goats, baby goats and chickens. Such a bonus. Planning our next time back.

What a delightful Christmas holiday at your rental ! As most of the reviews commented on, the welcoming gift basket of snacks and fresh eggs and bread were delightful treat when we arrived in the rain off the airplane. The space was just perfect for Christmas here with visitors and we all appreciated the beautiful layout and well-thought-out furnishings and decor. We made many meals in the spacious kitchen, which had everything we needed to cook with. The little Christmas tree and decorations were so appreciated and we felt very Christmasy in the space - which we loved. It was a great location for us to access family in the area and of course we enjoyed the pub down the road on several occasions. The goats absolutely are something to entertain everyone! We felt so at home here and it was one of the best holiday rentals that we have stayed at on the island. We will recommend it to family and definitely return to this cosy house. Thank you for having everything we needed and more!

Beyond expectations of any vacation rental! We have stayed in a lot!! Immaculately clean and Megan has spent her money in all the right places. Quality bedding, cookware etc where other vacation rentals cheap out. She has supplied anything you can think of and it was much appreciated. It’s very obvious she has put a lot of thought and effort into this place. Definitely book this if you’re staying in the area. It will not disappoint!!
