Punga Grove - Bush setting, kayaking, Trout fishing, Waterfalls, Glow worms

Relax, Explore, Kayak, Fish - Make this a destination holiday with so much to do on our property but also use us as a base while you visit Hobbiton (40 Minutes), Rotorua (1 hour), Mount Maunganui (30 minutes) and everything in between.

We are located on McLaren Falls Road on the Kaimais. We have two hectares in a bush setting on the banks of the Mangapapa River. Easy access to waterfalls, glow worm tours, trout fishing & Kayaking. You will be staying in a 72 square metre new build designed for your relaxation.

Sleep up to seven people. There is one bedroom which can have either a super king double bed or two super king singles. A recent guest described it as the best sleep she has had at any stay. In the lounge is a bunk with a double bed and single on top. The couch opens up into a comfortable queen bed. All beds have quality pillows, linen and duvet with extra blanket if required.

We have a fully equipped kitchen with full gas oven and elements, microwave and fridge freezer.

The bathroom has a 1200 by 900 shower, toilet and hand basin and there is a separate toilet adjacent. The laundry has a washing machine available for your use. All soaps and detergents are provided.

Outside is a large covered deck for your relaxation and overlooking a lawn and looking out onto the native bush reserve. Enjoy the ample bird song and see how many native birds you can spot.

Take a short walk down to the river and relax in the shade of a Punga while enjoying the peace of the water reflecting the native bush which runs down to the waters edge or watch the rainbow trout as they swim past.

You will be able to access approximately 5 kilometers of water way by kayak and explore the river and Mangpapa Lake. Very few people have access to this un-spoilt waterway and you will be amazed by its beauty.
