Anita was so helpful.The villa has a lovely feel and was perfect for our group of 6. The pool is a real bonus after the uphill climb.

Beautiful property. Just stunning. Interiors are perfect. The pool is lovely. Kids had a ball. Hydra overall - this was our first trip - was incredible and we will be back. It's always hard to work out from the listing exactly how high up. This is along miaouilo then up 100 steps. So it's a climb. You don't want to forget your hat and have to double back in the heat of the day. We went in a heatwave in July!very lovely.

A Beautifully Designed Property With a Great View

We’ve visited Hydra 4 times and this was by far the best place we have stayed. Spacious, well-designed, in immaculate order. We couldn’t recommend it more highly and will definitely book again.

I really can’t say enough about our stay at the Villa Alma! The photos, while lovely, really don’t capture the beauty and size of this Villa. It was more than we expected. The owner, Corinne, has supplied the place with everything you need and I can’t think of anything to suggest in that department. Having read previous reviews I requested additional towels and they were provided.Communication was smooth and responses quick. Her assistant Anita had us met at the ferry with a donkey to take our bags and lead us up to the villa. There are steep stairs to climb but the location and view definitely make them worth the effort. By the end of the week we were up and down them without thinking about it. As mentioned in the write up the villa is very close to the center of town so an easy walk to everything. Corinne recommended we shop at Christos at the foot of the hill and we found everything we needed there plus they know where to deliver by donkey. Anita went over everything with us in detail and the checkout was as smooth and easy as the arrival.There were four of us and we all had private rooms and our own bathrooms. There are three lovely outdoor spaces and as we were blessed with gorgeous weather we made good use of them,If I can get another group of friends together I will want to stay here again! The only hard thing was leaving.

Family home with a view

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is beautiful and perfect for a family with 4 adults and 3 teenagers. Location is pleasantly close to shops and sea but also far away enough to have peace and quiet. Amazing views, very nicely decorated.

We had a wonderful week of relaxation. The house sits up above the town square. You must be able to walk up hills and climb stairs, there is no option. The house was open with beautiful views. A perfect place for a family gathering.

A fabulous house, beautifully decorated and well situated to explore Hydra.

The house was the perfect property for our family party of 6. 4 fabulous bedrooms and multiple indoor and outdoor living spaces all stylishly decorated and immaculately maintained. Plus a great splash pool for the hot afternoons. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a stylish home as a base to explore Hydra.

Family holiday

We have just come back from the most amazing holiday in hydra. The house was perfect, beautifully designed, immaculate and well looked after. The house is perfectly located and so close to all the amenities. Thank you for looking after us so well. Hopefully you will have us back!!

Gorgeous villa, decorated in a bright and breezy style. A 10 minute walk to the harbour.Everything was perfect. Our only suggestion is that it would be good if the mid week clean could include changing bath towels. Other than that, our stay was enjoyed by our party very much.

Perfect house on Hydra

Wonderfully decorated and recently refurbished villa hafway on the hill behind the main port of Hydra. Great sea view from top roof terrace, lovely small plunge pool on the large terrace next to living room. Smooth communication with the owner and with the local caretaker of the house. We had a great stay and will definitely return!

Dream week in Hydra

We had a great stay at Corinnes beautiful house in Hydra! Great location, very clean and beautiful house. Loved the small pool. The house matches the description and communication was very easy (even though I would have loved a booking site in English since I don't speak French). Only thing I would wish for is a outdoor barbecue/grill/oven. All in all five stars!

Our time at Villa Alma was exceptionally enjoyable. The residence is beautifully and tastefully decorated, making every space feel wonderful. The beds are super comfy and the air con works super well.We spent afternoons lazing around the front verandah, plonking in and out of the small, yet perfectly adequate, pool. Each of the double bedrooms has its own bathroom facilities attached, the twin room has its own bathroom at the bottom of the adjoining stairs.The kitchen is really well equipped and we did eat in one night and found everything we needed … and Corinne has some great basics available like oil, vinegars, herbs and tea & coffee.There’s a fantastic supermarket/deli and bottle shop nearby for any supplies too.It’s an easy stroll from the Port, approx 200m up a slightly sloping cobbled stone road, then you take a set of stairs leading up the small hill to the villa which gave us a little bit of exercise daily.Check-in was easy, Anita was most attentive. Our donkey-man Mario met us at the Port to take our luggage … giving us an immediate insight into the uniqueness of Hydra.The views from the villa are quite something. We just totally fell in love with Villa Alma and the island of Hydra and are very happy to recommend it highly.You’ll love it too!

Hydra 2024

The place is just as listed plus more.. the spacious rooms , great AC , outdoors pool to cool off , open terrace to gather outside with lots of privacy. The house is a short walking distance to the stores, port , restaurants, makes you forget about the daily grind. The time stopped years ago, Greece at best … When you visit, do not hesitate to use the four legged ’Uber’ for your luggage transport, they are quite a site to see. Photos don’t do it justice

This is a stunning home perfect for a large group — the photos just don’t do it justice! Perfectly convenient location, with more than enough space for us (we were three couples). The outdoor terrace was perfect to come back to after a day out in the island; we would relax and have a drink and just unwind from our day here, it was perfect. If I were to nit-pick, the only thing I would mention is that it would’ve been nice to have an extra set of bath towels for each room, only one set per person was provided for the length of our stay. However, this did not affect our enjoyment in any way, so we were still fully pleased with the space! Would definitely stay here again when we return to Hydra.
