Great location, air conditioning did not work, first floor bedrooms NOT in good condition

Great location! Air conditioning did not work on the first floor, second floor had good air conditioning, third floor poor air conditioning, 3rd floor bedroom good air conditioning. Hot tub did NOT work and was super cold. Found 2 cockroaches- one in kitchen first floor and other on 3rd floor bedroom. 3rd floor couches in POOR condition. Porch swings- on 2nd floor and 3rd floor, cushions are dirty and could be replaced or washed. Pigeons are nesting around the 2nd/3rd floor- Noisy birds at night! Poor quality and super tiny towels provided. No hand soap included. Got 1 toilet paper roll in each bathroom for the week. Overall, we made the best of the situation, but the house needs some TLC!

Not great , dirty and safety hazards

This place was not at all what it was portrayed as. Right away the place must not have been cleaned. The hot tub is plugged into an inside wall outlet through the window, smoke detectors not installed/missing. Water leaking from 2nd floor bathroom to downstairs kitchen. Broken furniture. No way to lock up the building unless you want to climb over said hot tub or jump over deck railings. And it had roaches. To be fair. The owners did try and fix some items, but that bug thing did me in. 0/5 would not stay again

The perfect house for our stay in the Outer Banks

The house was just what we wanted in beach vacation rental. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. Each person had their own space to relax and also great spaces for us all to hang out. The house is situated between two beach accesses. Both just a couple minutes walk to the beach - you can't ask for more. It's a classic beach house with tons of space and a crazy amount of bathrooms. If you're looking for the fancy beach mansion this is probably not the place for you. This place was comfortable and well worn. The area is quiet yet has plenty for activity close by. We had two coffee shops within a five min. walk. The grocery store is walking distance away! Ice cream, restaurants and a brewery all with in walking distance. We had a great time enjoying the pool at the house. Water was not cold and we were there early June. Decent views from the decks. Plenty of parking for three cars and maybe four if you squeezed them in. Good backyard to walk the dogs. Overall it was just what we needed. The homeowner was very responsive and made the check in super easy.

Wonderful trip

We had a fabulous week. The house had some minor issues but was fantastic overall. First time having a pool and our kids loved it. Close to beach access and only a few blocks away from Food Lion. Would definitely stay again!! Mike was wonderful to work with, toi. Highly recommend!!

Our stay was good and we had fun. The tub from upstairs leaked into the downstairs kitchen but other then that it was great

Disappointing

Lesson learned don’t follow a winter rental of people who live like pigs. We were notified the day before arrival that unit may not be ready for us -we would be temporarily put in another home the owner owns. When we asked to just stay there instead we were told we could not - but we did get into our house as planned. Bonus room which was described as having a queen & single bed (we thought could be used for one of our sons) was full of construction material including muratic acid, tools, plaster, excess stock for gift shop next store (boxes were wet and moldy) a bunch of unassembled cots & smelled of cigarette smoke. The bathroom on that level did not have a shower that had running water. I cleaned that area enough for my kid to use - 4 cots made the room look like a military bunk house. Hot tub was not cleaned when we arrived, there was a dead frog in it. Water was cold, hot tub wasn’t turned on and ready. I sanitized & started it. Carpets smelled of dog urine. There was a carpet shampoo machine which was filled with disgustingly dirty smelly water, which I emptied & then cleaned the carpets. There was a large hole in the master bedroom wall which I patched & painted. Another bath had a shower that leaked into the pool table room & a ceiling fan with a loose blade. Owner said he would fix leak after we left but I caulked & fixed both the shower & the fan. I replaced the light bulb in that shower. House had 2 kitchens & neither garbage disposal worked. There was a broken bottle in one & screws and soda caps in the other. In the pool table room kitchen island there was a broken marijuana pipe. Every ceiling had water marks & one of the bathroom toilets needed to be snaked. I bought the snake, used it 3 times times to no avail - I believe someone someone had flushed paper towels. The owner came out but a plumber needs to be called. No central heat or air, there were 10 portable plug in heaters supplied & each room had window air conditioners. There were not enough kitchen bowls & silverware supplied. Pans were scratched, dented & not very good. We went & bought steak knives, more silverware, measuring cups, measuring spoons, a mixing bowl, etc & left those items. Cockroaches were spotted. We were previous owners of rental properties in OBX & we never would have left guests come into a house in that condition. We left this house better than we found it. Overall the house is large but needs a lot of TLC.

Perfect in October

We loved the location of this huge beach house! it's a bit quirky, and just what we needed for our October getaway! We loved the pool table, and the fun beach decor. And having each room have it's own bathroom was a real treat for our group of 6.

Family Beach Vacation with children and grandchildren.

We enjoyed the amenities of the beach house. It was very clean as we arrived. We brought cleaning items but only used our Lysol because the house was very freshly cleaned. Locals at the business next door Something Fishy were extremely friendly and checked on us periodically. The pool clues sticks were missing tips. Only one stick worked. The bed mattresses were slightly worn. Our overall stay was good and we do recommend this property.

Loved this beach house

My family loved this beach house! The location was great, not only to shops, grocery stores, etc but also to the beach access! The pool was nice for the day when we didn’t feel like being around a crowd. We really enjoyed the hot tub & pool table too, literally there was something for everyone. I had a maintenance issue & it was resolved within 2 hours!

Great location! Having a pool and a hot tub was awesome. Property manager was great and very quick to respond to questions/concerns. Would definitely come back again!

Sandbar Beach Road 2 - Rogers

In reference to the Beach House at Sandbar Beach Road 2508 (stayed 7/24 - 7/31) - The house is in a great location and is Nice but needs some work to be able to justify paying this much. Not sure how this place can be rented out due to these issues and for that price. Overall rating out of 5 with 5 being best I would give it a 2 1/2. We would like some money refunded to us and will be looking into what can be done on our end. For $5496.57 this certainly was not worth it and expected better. - The 3rd level (main level) 1/2 Bathroom has a lot of Mold on ceiling and the night it rained hard it leaked pretty good and we had to put some pots in there to catch water. Musty moldy smell upstairs. Also Big Cockroaches in the that bathroom as well as other areas of house. - Nail pops all over the decks (upper & lower). My Son cut his foot on one of them. - No hose on front bottom deck to rinse off when you get back from beach - had to stretch hose from Pool over but had no Nozzle to control the water. - No light on stairs outside entering deck - Cockroaches in bedrooms on 2nd level in bathrooms (dead & alive) - Not all outlets seemed to work. - ceiling on 3rd level - Paint / wood is chipping on the ceiling above planter and near sliding door and a few pieces fell down on floor. - your cleaning people might wanna vacuum between the couch cushions cuz its nasty - I looked there first day and put a sheet on them before sitting there. - Rocks around pool hurt feet and needed more pavers or deck around pool like the neighbors - hard to enjoy. - TV/Cable at times not easy to use or get in sync / Pool table and sticks not good.

Great location, plenty of space!

Only complaints are that the pool cues were unusable so we needed to replace 2 of them, and there was some sand on the pool table when we arrived. Otherwise, the property was clean and the location is GREAT. Very very short walk to the beach and the pool was fantastic. Would stay here again.

Good location, electrical problems

The house was nice and clean, the location is good. On the first day we had an issue with multiple blown fuses and the breaker box making zapping and crackling noises. When we brought it up to the owner they were not concerned and argued with us like we were making it up. When they finally sent someone out to look at it he argued with us and told us “just pack up and leave then” after a back and forth he came in and adjusted the breaker box but we were uncomfortable the whole time with the worry of the electrical issues. In addition to that the smoke detectors were missing from the house and we were told “guests just take them.” Again no concern from the owner. There is a pool table with 4 broken pool sticks which is an annoyance. The house is nice but seems to need some electrical repairs and the owners don’t seem to care.

Amazing!!

The property was exactly what we were expecting from the online listing. The only complaint we have is the pool sticks did not have tips so we could not use them. Other than that, amazing stay!

Ocean View 4 Br, 5.5 Ba house, pet friendly, located in the hearth of Nags Head on the beach road. Approximately 300 yard walk to the beach, across street from ocean front. Very close to Jockey's Ridge, Wright Brothers Memorial, excellent shopping and restaurants.
