Studio Apt with terrace on the beach; king bed, kitchenette and full bath.
BEACHFRONT STUDIO APARTMENT LOCATED DIRECTLY ON THE BEACH in a FIRST CLASS RESORT. Fully Funished with very comfortable King Size Bed, Full Bath, Kitchenette, Ample Terrace, A/C, Large Plasma TV, cable, telephone, safe deposit box, excellent security. Photo #1 above is the actual view from my beachfront terrace. The Playa Dorado resort complex is located on the best white sandy beach in the area and is located between the Puerto Plata (POP) airport and the town of Puerto Plata. There are taxis and shuttles from POP to all the resorts or you can rent a car at the airport or in the Playa Dorado complex. When checking-in at the 24/7 front desk, you can select the meals and drinks option, or not. If you do not drink much alcohol and dont want to pay excessive $ for average food, then you can dine in the nearby Plaza or in town and get your own food and have breakfast and lite meals on the terrace, as we do. Best super market is the La Sirena on the PP oceanside main street (Malecon) They have everything you could need and a good buffet. If you need to work online as i do, you can use my portable internet modem for a small refundable deposit. Paula Reyes is our very helpful English-speaking manager at Grand Paradise. Her office is in the lobby near the 24/7 front desk where you check-in and get the room key card to my apt #1414.

Nice ocean front condo

We enjoyed our stay in this condo because its good view and access to the beach. The host was very caring with a friendly and kind staff.

The ocean in my backyard

Great property overall with a beautiful ocean view. The owner of the property is always a phone call away. I will definitely rent this property again.

Best of both worlds

This Ocean front property was great. The room has everything you will need and it faces the ocean. Wake up to the sound of waves and palm trees ruffling. The resort has a big pool with activities every day. You have acess to all the resort facilities except for the food and drinks which was a blessing in the end. Lets be honest, hotel food sucks, and because it's all-enclusive you tend to overeat. Get out and taste the local cuisines. I recommed a place called El Manguito which is just outside the main gate, ask for the mangu, it's a very local side dish. There's another couple of places just a small walk up the beach in the town of El Pueblito. The restaurants on the beach there are good but walk into the town to the end and take a right and you'll see a place called Fefa where the locals eat. The resort also has two restaurants that have a cash menu. We also ate in. Jerald has a small kitchen area very well equipt. There are two local big supermarkets, Jumbo and La Sirena which has a food court type area on the second floor. They both sell booze. The hotel gives you all the ice you need. Our whole stay was perfect in every way except for the taxi situation by the hotel. Taxis are the only one allowed to pick up tourist and will try to over charge you. The way we overcame this was to walk to the main entrance, a 10-15 minute walk, or to the Pueblito and used Uber, which is very cheap so we always tipped. Uber is allowed to drop you off at the hotel lobby just not allowed to do pick ups there. We will return again. Thanks Jerald.

On the Beach

Location, Location, Location, if you want on the beach this is for you, only thing closer are the sun chairs. Great beach with excellent sand, plenty of room, chairs, and very safe. You could not wish for a nicer location, with at least a mile of sand beach in both directions. The accommodations and resort are as described in the homeaway posting, and the resort web page grandparadiseplayadorada The unit owner, Jerald, was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to questions we asked prior to booking, and emailed after our arrival to see if we had questions. Having access to his internet was outstanding, and he provided an on-site contact who assisted in coordinating everything, including a rental car (cheaper than advertised rates on rental sites). There is little to no activity on the beach after dark, this makes for easy sleeping, no excessive noise. we went for the beach and to tour, so we did not spend a lot of time on resort activities, but everyone we met was always smiling and welcoming. Great value, you are not likely to find a better value than this for an on beach location. Thank you. Martin & Elizabeth
