Mo's Cottage is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage conveniently located in Hatteras Colony of the Tri-Village area. Only 3 houses back from Merrimac beach access, this nostalgic cottage has everything you need to enjoy your stay.

* Included is a fully stocked kitchen to prepare meals, laundry, beach toys, beach chairs, bikes, and a beach umbrella. Mo's Cottage is complete with a comfortable screened porch and an open living concept. The cottage has 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds. Linens are provided for the beds. After a fun afternoon at the beach or the sound enjoy the outdoor shower.

ALL BED LINENS AND PILLOWS ARE PROVIDED

*** You will need to provide all bath and beach towels as well as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and any food/condiment items for your stay.

**** 1- 50lb dog or less will be considered for a non-refundable fee of $150.00.

** PLEASE NOTE: Hatteras Island is a fragile island, and we cannot control Mother Nature. We strongly recommend you purchase the traveler’s cancellation protection through VRBO as we have a strict cancellation policy. Our policy is 100% refund 30 days before stay cancellation, 50% refund 15 days before stay cancellation. Outside of this policy we will ONLY CREDIT MANDATORY EVACUATION DAYS. Purchase the traveler’s cancellation protection policy if you need more protection than this. Thank you!

Spring Break in Salvo

This was the perfect little beach hit for me and my two boys - equipped for everything we needed, very comfortable and homely, super close to the beach, and provided us with a great base to explore much that OBX has to offer. Superb value for us, thank you!

4th Time and Happy As Always

We just got back from another terrific time in the Outer Banks. We always enjoy staying at Mo's Cottage for it seems like a second home to us because we like everything about staying there , along with everything in the area . I highly recommend this place for everyone.

Amazing week!

This place was so nice for the week. It was cozy and we enjoyed the outside porch for sitting and reading in the evenings! The location was pretty quiet and the beach was so peaceful because it wasn't crowded! We loved staying here!

Corolla Light to Hatteras Light Beach Hike

This was the perfect place to stage our hike. House was well suited and a decent price. Very convenient to the beach. If you have a larger group (we had 3) the one bath can get inconvenient. But overall, I would highly recommend.

A Little Piece of Paradise

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Mo's Cottage. The cottage was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. There was plenty of empty counter space, shelving, hooks and hangers for our food, clothing, etc... The cottage was walking distance to a beautiful section of beach. There were beach chairs, toys, bikes, beach cart, gas grill, charcoal grill, etc... available for our use. Our favorite part of this cottage was the wonderful screened in porch and huge deck! That is where we spent most of our time when we weren't at the beach. Check in and check out were very easy and the owners were quick to answer any questions that we had. We are able to go to the Outer Banks by ourselves about every two or three years. We will definitely try to stay at Mo's Cottage again. There is something very special about staying at an original Outer Banks box cottage that has been passed down and enjoyed by the same family for years!

MO’s beach cottage-perfection!

My husband and I stayed at MO’s for the first time last week and it was perfect for us! The cottage was very cute, very clean and very well stocked with anything we needed. We really enjoyed the screened porch….so lovely! And it was just a short walk to the beach access which was a cute little path over the dunes to the amazing beach and ocean! We loved every minute of our stay and would definitely come back again!

Wonderful as always!

Mo's Cottage was cute and clean and perfect, just as it has been the past few years we've stayed there! The owner kept in touch with us throughout the tropical storm that hit while we were staying in OBX and we really appreciated it. Our son loved the scooter and beach trucks that were at the house. We hope to come back next year!

Good Location, Dirty House, Stressful Hosting

We were asked to do quite a bit of cleaning at checkout: wash and put away all dishes, sweep all floors, etc. but were still charged additional cleaning fees. Several hundred dollars in cleaning fees is unacceptable when we arrived to a dirty cabin and were asked to clean upon departure as well. Dishes were dirty, floors were covered in sand and hair, beds were unmade upon check in. Hosts messaged me almost everyday of our stay reminding me of their cleaning and checkout policies (six messages in five days). We were also charged additional fees for a service animal (illegal under US and NC law). Only one burner on the grill works.

Time to relax

This home has everything a family needs for a stay at the beach! Kitchen is fully stocked to prepare family meals, short walk to the beach, we all loved the outdoor shower, comfortable sleeping and seating. We played yard games and card games. Easy communication with owners. We would love to go back.

Our First Salvo

We have vacationed at the OBX for over 35 years, but have never been to this area to stay. We found it to be a "throwback in time" to our earliest visits. The neighborhood was quaint, the beach was terrific and we loved the quirky-chic decor of Moe's Cottage. A small, but well appointed beach house that had many simple amenities above what you commonly find. It has become a new favorite for the times when just a few of us can go.

Our Grandparents, Mo and Laurie, fulfilled their dream of building a family beach cottage on Hatteras Island in 1972. They enjoyed many years of fishing, exploring empty beaches, and bird watching with their two daughters and grandchildren. Our family treasures Mo’s Cottage with many fun filled beach memories. Mo’s Cottage was an Island favorite for visitors, many families returning year after year. We would like to once again invite visitors to enjoy “Mo’s” as we do.
