3 Dog Mountain Retreat
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this beautiful, quiet chalet is the ideal spot for a peaceful retreat. This home is the perfect balance of rustic and modern with tons of natural light. Enjoy the natural tranquility with all the creature comforts you could want. Easily accessible on paved roads, this single level two-bedroom, two-bath home is less than a 2-hour drive from Atlanta, Asheville or Chattanooga. Located in Murphy, North Carolina between the Hiawassee River and Valley River, there is plenty to do in every season or just come to relax and take in the mountain views. Unwind in front of the cozy fireplace with a book or play a game on the arcade. The kitchen is well appointed with everything a chef could ask for. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, large walk in closet and en-suite bathroom with separate vanities and a large tiled shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the sofa in the den is a queen pull out bed. Both bedrooms have large televisions, plenty of storage and French doors that lead out to the deck. The outdoor space includes a large dining table, gas grill and foosball table as well as an inviting sectional with lots of room to spread out and take in the clear night sky. We guarantee that your pups will love playing in the large fenced-in yard while you sit around the firepit.
The house is conveniently located 15 minutes from quaint downtown Murphy with its many shops, restaurants and movie theater. Harrah’s Cherokee casino is there as well. Other nearby attractions include John C. Campbell Folk School, Two Crows Alpaca Farm and tons of fishing and hiking options. There is a great hiking trail just steps from the house. Also nearby are miniature golf, canoeing and much more. Downtown Blue Ridge is just 25 minutes away.

We had a wonderful stay at 3 Dogs Mountain Retreat in Murphy! The cabin was perfect for our 30th anniversary! The kitchen was fully equipped; the family area was spacious and comfy with a beautiful stone fireplace. The master bedroom was lovely and the master bathroom with the large dual shower heads was amazing! The view from the deck was breathtaking! The owners also left a book for guests to peruse with local activities and restaurants in the area. 3 Dog Mountain Retreat was exactly what we were looking for to celebrate our anniversary. I highly recommend!

Great cabin

Really enjoyed the cabin and the location. Pups loved the fenced yard and inside toys. Kitchen well stocked and outdoor grill came in handy for steaks. Fire pit was used and really enjoyed it. Road our motorcycles all over the area and of course did the popular loops. Best part of the day was returning back to the cabin and navigating the driveway which is pretty steep and not for the faint of heart. Overall great vacation and will rent again.

Great week!

Us and our pup had the best stay here. It was the perfect location to get to both blue ridge and murphy and had the perfect relaxing backyard with mountain views. We will be back for sure!

Everything was excellent. There is no better place to go to enjoy a vacation with your dogs. We all loved the fencced in yard and nearby private trail . The house itself was so pretty with plenty of space and storage. The beds were so comfortable. Great lighting. So well equipped. Usually , houses in mountain towns are hard to get to... steep windy, gravely roads. This house was easy to access... paved roads, not steep nor windy. Plenty of privacy. We were so happy with everything. So many things to see and within a half hour drive. And, to top it all off, even

The best rental cabin

This was amazing to spend a week with our 2 dogs - so dog friendly with bowls, toys and beds. They thought of everything for you and your pets. The view was amazing, the cabin was beautiful and a joy to stay!

Nice Mountain Get Away.

Best vrbo for R&R!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at 3 Dog Mountain Retreat. It was a heavenly week of R&R for us and our pups! It was a gorgeous set-up with plenty of space for everyone to relax - inside and out. We enjoyed the lounge furniture on the deck and fell asleep out there in the evenings a few times! They've thought of everything need for you and your pup(s) which was fantastic! We would definitely book again!

Great place to stay!

This was a great place for our mountain getaway. Beautiful home with a great view. Clean and comfortable with a well appointed kitchen and nice fireplace. Loved the outdoor fire pit and the kids enjoyed using the outdoor games. Also enjoyed the nice trail just two minute walk from the door. Great hosts, easy to communicate with and available to answer all our questions. Hope to stay here again!

Perfect Get-away

This was the perfect stay. We enjoyed walking each morning around the community. There is a wonderful trail nearby. The firepit was inviting and many marshmellows were roasted there. The inside is comfortable and you have everything you need to have a wonderful stay. We would certainly come back in the future to this place. Thank you so much for opening the doors to this gem for other's to enjoy!

Wonderful home for a mountain getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this mountain home as it was a great place to hang out during the day playing the various games around the house or go on a walk on the neighborhood trail. It was a perfect home for us to vacation with our son and dog as there were plenty of things to help keep them entertained between the toys and fenced in yard. The hosts were easy to work with and this house was fully equipped with everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend it to others, especially if you are bringing children or animals on your trip.

Beautiful dog-friendly cabin getaway

We stayed here for the week for our six year wedding anniversary and brought our doggo with us for the stay. Our dog really enjoyed the fully fenced in backyard to roam around and explore. We loved everything about the cabin, from the spacious shower to the gas stove/range. The smart TV with all the saved movies on the DirecTV DVR offered plenty of entertainment options. Also, while not specifically related to the cabin, the Chinese restaurant in town (So’s Good) is sooo good! The hosts really go out of their way to make you feel at home in their cabin. They even have a basket of dog toys for your doggo (we bought a few new ones from the Beall’s in town to add to the collection when we left). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider staying again for a future vacation.

Home away from home

The home is beautiful and well equipped. All the newest appliances and utensils. There are games, books or just a comfortable deck with lounges to view the sunrise or sunset. The hosts, Randy & Deborah were wonderful. They made sure you enjoyed your stay. Also, the fenced in yard had a great, high fence that kept your dog from jumping out or some animal from jumping in. We went there to cool off from the coastal heat and a different view. We got more than we expected. Stay there and you'll feel at home.

Perfect Mountain Getaway with the Pups!

This is the one. If you are looking in this area and have dogs (or even if you don’t) this is the home to book. I say home, because this isn’t just a house. This is a cozy, safe, escape from reality (such as hurricanes). The hosts are easy to reach, have provided every little touch you can think of, the home is spotless (despite being incredibly dog friendly) and well cared for. Everything was easy to use or access, even our departure was easy, and since we left in the middle of the night we appreciated not too many instructions. Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed every minute of their stay from toys to dog beds to the huge wonderful fenced yard. We felt very safe letting them run around and play. We took lots of walks in the pretty neighborhood, there’s even a trail! Watched deer right outside the windows and enjoyed many hours of the absolutely stunning view. We had no issues with anything, the welcome book explained things perfectly. We needed to extend a night due to hurricane Milton and the hosts were so wonderful and accommodating, we can’t thank them enough for sparing us from trying to find a hotel to accommodate us and our dogs. The roads to the house are all paved and easy to navigate. It’s very quiet and I’m not sure how they do it but the home didn’t smell at all, not like fake perfume, not like dog, just fresh nothingness. That’s how you know it’s really clean. Anyway, we have to agree with all the previous reviewers, 5 star all the way. We can’t wait to come back!

This was our 3rd stay at this cabin. We travel very frequently and this one will always be our favorite. They location is perfect, 30 min max drive in each direction to hit all the great spots. The cabin has the most amazing view out the rear patio that you can look out while eating breakfast. We have zero complaints and will continue coming back year after year as long as the cabin is available or until we purchase our own cabin. Thanks for another great stay!

The house and property were amazing! The kitchen and bathrooms were very well equipped. The deck was amazing with comfortable furniture and the view was great. Our dog Gracie loved the yard. We enjoyed wildlife and sunsets!!

We were thoroughly delighted when we arrived at our cabin. The drive was a bit steep but the property was inviting and engaging. We traveled with our two pups and they thoroughly enjoyed the fenced back yard. The cabin had us paced for a perfect relaxing get away. It was peaceful and tranquil. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and dishes and kitchenware. The front deck had furniture and a grill. The pups were remembered also. There were toys and beds and everything they needed for a relaxing vacay. There was a fire pit in the yard with sitting chairs to enjoy. There was a problem with the water pump but the hosts responded quickly and the problem resolved. We would stay there again and highly recommend.

Staying in a treehouse

From the moment we dropped our bags in the entry way we were completely relaxed. The large windows the view from the back patio was like being up in a treehouse. The deck was oversized to accommodate my husband, and I and our two dogs, and with the enclosed fenced yard. We felt safe and secure to let the dogs play. Randy and Deborah really thought of everything from the amenities in the bathroom to the exceptionally soft linens in the bed and when you get to the master bathroom, the shower it’s like you stepped into a spa. Get ready to get a little exercise in if you take a walk around the neighborhood with the steep incline. We got to see deer with their fawns playing in the adjacent yard. If you’re looking to escape noise and people this is the perfect house to come to.

The owners understand what it means to travel with our “kid.” Beautifully decorated home, and well furnished, down to the night lights scattered throughout the house. The kitchen was very organized…everything was labeled and easy to find. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and plan to return.

Outstanding

Peaceful, quiet, 10 deer visited a few times. Spent every evening on the porch watching sun go behind mountains. Our 2 dogs were able to run around in the large fenced in back yard. Interior was immaculate. Centrally locked to different towns and many hiking trails. Hosts were kind answering my many questions within a few hours. One of the best places we have ever stayed.
