Welcome to Two Sisters spacious lakefront house in the heart of Kawartha Lakes. Escape to the country but with city amenities. Open concept living, kitchen, dining room with walk-out to large balcony with BBQ and outdoor dining area with beautiful views overlooking the lake.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms on the upper level and 2 on the lower level where you will find the walk out to the back yard. Each bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed with good-quality linens. The downstairs family room is stacked with a foosball table, poker table, and popular board games for night-time entertainment. From the lower level walk-out, you can relax in the sunroom or continue outside to play on the spacious backyard. Swim, canoe, and fish during the day ,then relax on the deck or dock with your favourite beverage enjoying the breathtaking sunsets over the lake.
Groceries, restaurants, LCBO, Beer Store, Tim Horton's are less than a 15 min drive and you can visit the beaches of Balsam Lake Provincial Park, or explore Indian Point Provincial Park on your way. You can also play a round of golf nearby, take in some history visiting the Trent Severn Waterway lock system, take one of our 5 watercraft out for a paddle, or just pull up the loungers and relax by the peaceful lake.
For your safety and security we have a security cameras at the front and back of the property.
Since we are equipped with Bell internet you can even hold your zoom meeting from the cottage.

Great Getaway

A short drive from our homes in Toronto, this week-long stay was truly a treasure. Thanks to our amazing hosts, we enjoyed a stunning waterfront, well kept cottage, and memories to last a lifetime.

Greatly enjoyed our stay. Good sized rooms, decks and dock made for a great venue for our vacation.

Great quiet getaway

This property is in a quiet community on the lake. Great waterfront exposure with awesome sunsets. Interior is modern AND cozy with plenty of room for the whole family. There is plenty of provided games and activities.

Very nice stay

The property is large with multiple sitting areas - including outside - which is great for different groups wanting to play games, watch sports/movies, chat etc. Lots of room for everyone! The lake is a bit shallow for swimming but all the watercraft options were nice to paddle and there are multiple lakes attached so you can go a long way paddling. We were not bored over five days did not even go anywhere !

Second Memorable Stay

This was our second time staying at this property and it was just as enjoyable as last year. Plenty of space for our group of 10. There is so much to do and also so many places to do nothing, but relax. There were a cpuple of 'extra' items that we wanted to bring along and had asked ahead of time. Without hesitation Sofia was happy to accomodate with a quick reply. Thank you for another memorable experience for my family & I. See you in 2025 :)

OUTSTANDING LAKEFRONT GETAWAY!!

We absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed our time at “The Two Sisters Lakehouse” in Kirkfield. The property is extremely clean, tastefully and comfortably furnished and every possible amenity you can imagine is provided. Sofia and Mark are delightful hosts who will go above and BEYOND to ensure that you enjoy your stay. The Lake House cottage is very spacious and well-appointed. The property is beautifully landscaped… we felt like we were at a high-end resort! We are already discussing our return to this amazing vacation getaway!! Thank you Sofia and Mark for this amazing experience! 🤗

Wonderful stay

Had a fantastic week away with family (10 of us), making memories to last a lifetime. Cottage was very clean and even better than the listing/description. There is so much to do inside and out. Our group made a mistake with the garbage - the host was quick with a response, understood what had happened and offered to rectify the issue while telling me to "relax and enjoy your stay". It was so nice not to have to worry. We are already talking about booking this property for next year (if available) Thank you Sofia for allowing us into your property for a memorable summer getaway.

Great place to take in the sunsets on the lake

Don't let the size from the outside fool you. At first glance outside you might think it was not roomy but the inside has a very spacious open concept with the additional living space in the walkout basement. It was great for getting separate from the kids. The best part was the backyard. Huge with a very nice waterfront. Lots of water toys makes for lots to do. The gazebo on the back dock is the best place to catch the sunset. All this only 1.5 hours from Toronto! No hesitation to rent this cottage again.

Fun and Relaxing Getaway

My large group stayed at Sofia’s place for 4 days and we have nothing but positive things to say about our experience! Sofia was extremely accommodating with our group in many ways, excellent at communicating, and generous in making sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our weekend. The property was clean and provided several options for activities - off and on the water. The only thing I would say is there were more fish near the dock than expected, which a couple of us didn’t enjoy when they brushed against our legs, but the rest of the group had no problem jumping in and enjoying their time in the water :) One of our group members even took advantage of the opportunity to go fishing, which he really enjoyed! Would recommend booking this cottage for your group’s weekend away!

An Amazing Adventure and Experience

We have rented cottages for the past 10 years and this was by far the best rental experience and property I have had the pleasure of staying and enjoying with friends and family. When you enter the home, it is immaculately clean and that has never happened for us, we usually have to clean first. Everything was as described. The property itself immediately puts you into a tranquil mood and I'm a workaholic, I have never been so relaxed. My family and friends were also enjoying everything. We also rented a Pontoon boat and a Sea Doo from Kawartha Adventures which just added to the experience. One other item which I think is important, the fridge was empty which was great. Often we arrive and the fridge is full and the cupboards are full with other peoples food and you can't add everything you brought. It was absolutely perfect. I recommend this property 100%. Sofia was extremely wonderful and easy to connect with. As they say, you gotta stay here! Thank you to the two sisters. First time in 10 years, I was completely relaxed. Oh and the view.... Amazing!

Lovely property and wonderful cottage

9 of us stayed at the cottage for a family trip to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. There were a few things that came up but Sofia was helpful and everything worked out fine. I found the parking to be a bit tight and would recommend staggering arrival if you have a few vehicles coming with stuff to unload. We did that kind if by chance and it worked out well. I didn't know how to use the keypad entry or even get the numbers to show but figured it out via google when we arrived. Overall a lovely spot. The lake was a bit weedy but that's just the way it is. We used the kayaks and paddleboard many times, all great. A wonderful time for sure and the cottage was spacious and quiet.

Wonderful Vacation

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 weeks. The first week we both worked remotely. The internet was great for video calls and we did not experience any downtime. The cottage is beautiful, clean and spacious. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival as it looked even better than the pictures. The bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed having our coffee every morning in the screened in porch. On rainy days we sat under the covered porch or under the canopy by the dock. There is also a refrigerator in the boathouse, which is amazing as it saved us having to buy ice for the cooler. The hot tub was a definite plus and was enjoyed by all. Sitting on the dock watching the sunset over Mitchell lake will be a lasting memory for me. I highly recommend this cottage. Also, thanks to Sofia for checking in on us regularly and responding promptly to our questions.

Fun and relaxing getaway

We spent two weeks at this property and were very pleased with our accommodations. This property reflects pride of ownership inside and out. Our host was very responsive to any of our needs. We enjoyed the canoes, Kayak, and paddle board that were there for our convenience and the hot tub was a nice bonus. The location allowed us to do some exploring and there were many little villages to poke around in. All in all; a very successful holiday!

Happy to have a second week

This property reflects pride of ownership by Sofia and Mark. They were there to greet us when we arrived and gave a quick summary of the features. Everything was very clean and in good order. The water toys ( canoes, kayak, paddle board) have been wonderful. The kids have loved fishing off the dock and we have spent many hours right down by the water. We are thrilled that we booked two weeks here and will be sorry when we have to leave!

Missing details in listing

We were a party of 4 adults and 5 kids, the details of the listing for this rental and the pictures do not show the water is full of tall grass that makes swimming impossible. Luckily we had a paddle board and there was one provided so the kids had some fun on the water. We were not told of the metal poles from a fence in the water that could have caused serious injury of fallen on until a neighbor came and warned us. There are also security cameras on the property which made a few of us uncomfortable as they aren't disclosed anywhere in the listing, the older kids were worried they were in the house. The one room has a large sign warning of electrical shock if opened but is also the emergency exit the kids refused to sleep in that room as they were scared of getting shocked.

Summer Getaway

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Sofia's cottage. We had the pleasure of meeting her upon our arrival and she was very hospitable and welcoming. Martin her husband was also there and took the time to show us around the property. This cottage was pet friendly which was a great relief as it was our first time vacationing with our dog. Our dog especially enjoyed the large green space in the back yard. Doggy bowls, a bed and a lifejacket we also available to us. Unfortunately, the weather during the ladder part of our stay was very wet and rainy. We were very happy to see and surprised that they even had 2 rain jackets and and umbrella available for use. We entertained our selves with the board games provided and several movies that we accessed through our Netflix account. During our stay, a brand new hot tub was installed and we definitely made sure to make use of that. I would definitely rent this cottage again. Thank you Sofia and Martin!

Quality Family Time on the Lake

We had a great week at this property! It was spacious enough that we all had our private rooms including my grandson (3 1/2) who actually successfully transitioned into a "big boy bed". The views and sunsets are simply amazing!! So many different sitting areas to enjoy your coffee or drink and soak in the views. The dock was a family favourite and fishing too.

The best lake house!

We spent the weekend at this property and it was hands down the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. The pictures dont do it justice it was so so so beautiful. The house was so clean and everything was there that we needed. The sunsets over the lake right infront of the house was amazing and there is a lovely space to sit, relax and enjoy the views. We used the kayaks to explore and my personal favorite was the paddle board (It was my first time). Sofia was very responsive and very accommodating even left us check out late which was the icing on the cake such a nice lady. Well deserved 5 stars. We book into cottage every now and again and we were erger to rebook this place. Thank you sofia.
