Spend a few extra bucks and Stay Elsewhere

The pictures looked great—Manicured lawn, clean home, dock—but pictures can be deceiving. We were excited and looking forward to a getaway for the Labor Day weekend. We pulled up and the grass was knee high! So much for yard games! I went upstairs to go into the unit and the lockbox code didn’t work. I then had to call Luis to find out what was going on. He gave me a code that was incorrect and then gave me another code that worked. Went inside and put my suitcase down and noticed the dead bugs along the baseboards and then the dead roach in the tub. Took stock of the kitchen: 1/2 roll of paper towels, ONE spoon, some plates & cups in a dirty cabinets (spilled rice and spices), dirty fridge with an empty milk box, 2 vials of insulin with syringe. I called Luis back and made him aware of the insulin and he said he would contact the previous renter. I then take stock of the bathroom: 3 towels for a place that sleeps 6 (and we did book for 6–although only 4 stayed on one night), 1/2 roll of toilet paper. No extra necessities, so bring your own! Although, to be fair, Luis did give me the code to the unit next door for TP & towels. No towels and one roll of TP. The WiFi is sketchy because the modem is in the next door unit BTW. The screen downstairs is still busted as other renters have stated, but I had hoped it would’ve been fixed. We cleaned the unit before leaving. With all of this and the inconveniences, I simply asked for the cleaning fee to be reimbursed. I’ve not heard from him since. Dollar General made a buck off of us, I tell ya. The yard guy came out 2 days that we were there! Nothing like wet feet and grass clippings to really make for fun. So…spend the extra $20-$50 a night to stay in a place that has the things that this house clearly did not. I do have pictures of anyone is interested. Best of luck!!!

Expected more for the price.

Overall the property was clean. It just seemed as if no thought was put into making it a comfortable stay for more than one person. There were next to no pots and pans to cook with, and literally 1 spoon. No bowls for cereal or soup so we ended up having to use containers that we brought food in. Also the wifi there was horrible. Which wasn’t a problem for the adults, but the tv required internet as well. That meant no devices for the kids and no TV for anyone. Also the inclosed bottom area is not inclosed. The back door screen is completely missing and the bugs made it in with ease. Lastly, the pier out back provided little to no fishing. It is built in a series of channels that run in and out through Sargent. When the tide shifts the fishing stops. There was a huge intercostal to the front of the house that we did not have access to because it was part of the neighbors property and an alarm sounded if we even got near that pair.

Perfect beach bungalo!

Owner was extremely responsive and accommodating. The property is perfect and spacious and the deck under the house is screened in and a huge bonus. Clean and so pet friendly. My friends and I loved it and will definetly be back. About 10 minutes to the beach!

Trip to Sergent

Had a wonderful stay here away from the city. There could have been a few more options for cooking like pots and pans but that’s my only complaint. Also come prepared the only thing close is a Dollar General which has most of the items you may forget. We had a great time staying here. Caught one drum off the pier and kids loved catching the crabs although we didn’t keep any. Would come back for sure.
